"The posada is a beautiful old building, perfectly maintained and spotlessly clean. Communication was a little difficult with the owners due to my limited Spanish and their limited English - but we managed! We had a lovely room and a very comfortable bed. It was 4km to drive to the nearest town for dinner. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice of local and homemade food. "A beautiful country house run by a family with just 8 rooms just 2.5 km away from Potes. A good choice for one who prefers to stay a little bit away from the city centre. We chose this place because we drive and the very good price. It turned out to be a real gem as the owner and son went out of their way to give us very good recommendations for nature walks, etc. We also took an evening walk to Potes, which was 30 minutes each way. The house also has a large garden with various fruit trees...

"Pleasant stay in a Spanish house, we stayed on the second floor with a Velux window in the roof- we could have done with a fan as it got stuffy - we did ask but apparently not needed.... breakfast was plenty of toast and fruit and coffee and tea. Ideally situated on a side road just off the main road half way between Comillas and San Vicente de la Baroque, both beautiful villages - enjoyed evening meals at both but not until 9pm"

"Herwann is a very nice host, the location and the layout of the house are great. Unfortunately, a few things are getting on in years and need a refurbishment. and the cleanliness was also a bit lacking, we found stains on the bedding and blankets. Also the lanai was basically unusable as it was completely filthy. This was a great pity, as the location and layout of the accommodation are perfect. and: there were obviously mothballs in the bedrooms and wardrobes which gave off a really unpleasant...

Lovely 15th century mansion

"This is a beautiful property in a 15th century mansion in a lovely little town. It was great to have private secure parking and the staff was so helpful. The bar was a great little spot and breakfast was delicious. There is no restaurant however and only selected options at the bar. We were there in mid-November and restaurant options in town were limited. Overall highly recommended and reasonably priced."
