Giammengo is a beautifully restored romantic stone property, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms in the cottage, with a further 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom set across the little courtyard 10M from the house. There is a gorgeous pool and outdoor relaxing area.

Set in the depths of the Garfagnana, an hour or so North of Lucca, in a small village with a population of circa 300. There are village and mountain views. This house really is a treat!

Unusually for this area, one can walk to a pizzeria/restaurant (less than a 5 min walk) where one can dine al fresco on the terrace and take in the view, as well as a basic shop/bar, gelateria and butchers. For other facilities the local market town is less than a 10 minute drive away.

This 2 bedroom, 2 shower room village property, along with further bedroom and bathroom across the courtyard has been restored with lots of love and care, and retains its original character, but with the addition of modern shower rooms, beautiful furniture and stunning pool area complete with an outdoor kitchen, and no less than a choice of 3 eating areas, making it an ideal holiday home.

The cottage is tastefully presented, with a wonderful mixture of original flooring, beamed ceilings, chestnut windows, original balconies from bedrooms, blending perfectly with modern fireplace, pristine bathrooms, country kitchen and bang up to date outdoor area with good size modern pool.

This place really is a treat!

Garfagnana greatness
5 of us had a wonderful stay. The pictures don't do it justice; the views over this beautiful part of Tuscany are amazing and the property / its facilities are superbly designed and finished to a very high quality. The outdoor spaces aren't overlooked at all and the interior provided a welcome relief from the heat. Good walks from the property too. Oh and very few mosquitos! Patricia was at the property during our stay and was very discrete. She booked us into the local restaurant and made excellent recommendations about things to do in the local area. The food and drink (in the supermarkets and restaurants) was consistently excellent quality and low price.

Perfect Tuscan Escape!
My family of four (2 teen sons) stayed at this beautiful property in June. It is a perfect base for exploring Garfagnana by car and the property is delightful. There are 2 great restaurants within a 3-4 minute walk. The hosts are so welcoming and accomodating; it was a great overall experience. The management company sent great information about the area ahead of time (which was super helpful.) Although a little tricky to initially locate the property, it is easily accessible once you know where you are going. This was our first trip to Tuscany. I hope to stay here (same property) again!

I would highly recommend this property for a holiday. The property itself was ideal. It was of a very high standard. The location was perfect. We could walk to the local restaurant which had lovely food and friendly staff. There are lots of things to see locally and you could use the train to go further afield. The proprietors were wonderful. They were very informative and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely come back to this villa again. We cannot recommend highly enough Miriam and Charles

Comfortable house in a fantastic location
The property is a very good standard and was perfect for the two of us. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the facilities of the pool and outdoor kitchen/dining which were perfect for taking in the amazing views. We would certainly stay there again.

The ultimate place to stay and relax
We are very happy that we found this beautiful villa, it has everything you need for a lovely holiday. We cannot praise the quality of the property enough, the high standard and the Hosts Patricia and Geir were fantastic. They have spend a lot of time on this property and they should be very proud of it! The location of this villa is peaceful and has some fantastic views over the beautiful valley with the many small village churches chiming their bells throughout the day. The pool area is fantastic with BBQ/kitchen area overlooking a superb 180 degrees view, it excels itself further as the sun sets. As mentioned earlier, the host are great and are not at all intrusive but are there if needed and can give great tips of places to see and dine. We would like to thank them both for giving us such a lovely place to stay and letting us relax. We will definitely return, but we are worried that because its such a nice villa it may be hard to reserve in the future because it will be so popular. Graham and Christine

Stunning location and beautiful facilities - the owners couldn't do enough for us.
We had an amazing trip to Tuscany. The villa in Villetta was a perfect base for our first visit to the region and the facilities provided were perfect. When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner, who gave us a tour and was happy to help with information about the local area. The villa is a recent development on their plot, and so includes lots of modern touches. We had access to a washing machine and a freezer, and had exclusive use of the pool area for the whole week. This included the BBQ, a fully fitted outdoor kitchen (with another fridge / sink) and the permanent views across the valley - it was lovely to watch the changing views at different times of the day! Inside the villa was very comfortable, two good sized double rooms, two separate bathrooms and there was everything we needed to cook meals for ourselves. However, the temptation to walk 5 mins up the hill to the Pizzeria Il Grotto was difficult to resist. Very friendly staff and customers, and the food was gorgeous. We spent several evening there enjoying the pizza, the beer, the green apple juice and, of course, the gelato!! The atmosphere was a bit tense during the England Semi-final match - but there was plenty of friendly banter! The train station was a 5 min walk down the hill, perfect to trips to local towns/cities Castelnuovo Di Garfagnana, Lucca and Pisa - and the trains were clean and punctual. We also went for lovely walks in the local area, enjoying the views from the viaduct and then swimming in the river below it, which was very refreshing. I would also recommend a visit to the hill top fort higher up the valley, where local volunteers showed us how to use a Trebuchet (a massive medieval catapult). They were passionate about the work they have done to rescue the fort from dereliction, and it was a lovely place to visit on a lazy afternoon. Overall, the villa and the region were a perfect introduction to Tuscany and we will be returning. The owners couldn't do enough for us, but yet respected our privacy and it was lovely to chat to them about the work they have put into developing their home and this lovely villa. We would certainly love to return for another visit, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Thanks for a wonderful holiday, and see you again soon.

Tolles Haus mit Pool
Patricia und Geir haben uns einen tollen Empfang bereitet. Es war wie nach Hause zu kommen. Wir haben jeden Tag genossen. Schnuckeliges Haus und ein toller Pool mit einem Wahnsinnsausblick. Die Pizzaria il Grotto ist nur in ein paar Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar und sehr lecker. Wir kommen wieder!

Traumurlaub in der Toskana
Mit unseren beiden Söhnen haben wir 10 Tage in dieser einmalig schönen Villa verbracht und einen fantastischen Urlaub bei den wundervollen Gastgebern Patricia und Geir erlebt. Das absolute Highlight ist der Pool mit der Außenküche und einem fantastischen Blick auf die Berge. In Laufweite ist eine Pizzeria / Gelateria / Lebensmittelladen, in der man alles für den täglichen Bedarf findet und sehr gut essen kann. Die Lage ist super geeignet für Tagesausflüge. So waren wir in Pisa, Lucca, am Strand bei Viareggio und haben auch die nahen Berge, Bergseen, Höhlen und Festungen erkundet. Wir können auch sehr empfehlen, ein E-Mountainbike auszuleihen. Dadurch kann man die wunderschöne Umgebung erkunden. Uns hat es so gut gefallen, dass wir bereits einen weiteren Urlaub in dieser Villa planen…

We hebben met 6 volwassenen een week lang mogen genieten van een prachtig mooi huis met zwembad. Genoeg ruimte voor iedereen. Bijna hele week boven bij het zwembad vertoeft waar een keuken met borden, bestek, glazen, koelkast en zelfs pannen aanwezig zijn. Wat een genot in de ochtend daar je ontbijt te nuttigen, zwemmen overdag en in de late avond eten en een spelletje doen. Het zwembad wordt goed schoongehouden en was heerlijk. Omgeving is prachtig. 2 keer pizza besteld bij Il Grotto en aan grote tafel in buitenkeuken gegeten. 1 keer heerlijk bij Il Grotto zelf gegeten. Patricia en Geir zijn er als je ze nodig hebt (Patricia nog bedankt voor het maken van de foto’s) en voor goede adviezen wat te doen in de buurt. We hebben genoten van het verblijf daar.

A dream...
Patricia and Geir are super-hosts and the house with the pool and the outdoor-kitchen is a dream! Viletta is an cosy small village with a little shop (inklusice a good gelateria). The restaurant "il Grotto" is great. No chi-chi-food, just fine handmade italian food, good wines and a great view over the valley. The area is very hilly and green. There are no busloads of tourists swarming all over the countryside. So you will find a wonderful place for relaxing holidays. You can do some nice trips from Viletta to Lucca, Pisa, Firenze or Cinqueterre - but to the south of the toscany (Siena, San Gimiagno, Bolgehri) you might "endure" some longer rides. But who cares - if the house and the hosts are that good as here. And why travel so far, if you can find nice little towns like Bargha nearby. Thank you for a great time!

Schon das herzliche Willkommen der Gastgeber sorgte für ein direktes Wohlbefinden. Die Unterkunft, der Pool mit Terasse und Außenküche sind genau, wie beschrieben, sogar noch schöner. Fantastisches Haus in fantastischer Lage!
Herrlich gelegenes Haus mit einem einzigartigen Blick über das Tal auf die Alpi Apuane. Das Haus ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber, so wie die gesamte Anlage. Der Pool mit der Outdoor-Küche war der Mittelpunkt unseres Aufenthalts. Die Vermieterin war sehr freundlich, immer erreichbar und hatte gute Tipps für Ausflüge und regionale toskanische Küche in der Umgebung. Der Ort bietet alles was man braucht: Restaurant, Bar, und ein kleiner Laden. Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen und können das Objekt nur weiterempfehlen! Vor allem für jemanden, der abseits vom Tourismus seinen Urlaub verbringen möchte.

Bolig og billigenhed er helt i top. Der henvises til at dette sted er en "godbid" og det er det helt bestemt. Alt faciliteter er 100% og man føler sig virkelig velkommen i huset og den lille by.
