This is a lovely place in the country, in a perfect bucolic setting of rolling vine-covered hills, run by a really nice family of winemakers with a fantastically good-value restaurant.
They themselves are lovely people, the son was super-friendly, took a lot of time to talk about Italian wine with us and his service in the restaurant was exceptional. He even got up early to make us breakfast before we drove elsewhere for a meeting.
The rooms are fairly simple, but they're big, clean, comfortable and well-priced.
The wine-list in the restaurant is exceptionally good value and they've got some top quality wines including their own. Their Babera d'Asti especially is really very good and I say that as somebody that has been a wine-writer and now makes wine myself. The food was four courses for €25 at the end of which you might need to loosen your belt a few notches. Their homemade pasta is among the best I've ever eaten, while the main meat course was cooked by somebody that really knows what they're doing.
