The hotel property is located at the beginning of a the state park with large tress and shade, and the cormorant birds are everywhere, so keeping the property clean and tidy is a challenge that has not been dealt with well, but it’s not horrible.
The main building where the front desk, restaurant & bar are located was very clean and modern, and pictures shown of these areas accurately reflect the space. However, the room pictures shown are only for some of the rooms, and we know this, because the first room they gave us was maybe 10X20 with a low ceiling, a modernized bathroom, as shown in the picture, but the bed, etc. made it feel like an older motel type of room.
However, per our request we were upgraded- for a minimal charge- to a beautiful, modern, spacious room with open beam ceilings and a view of the water- this was in the 400 building.
The staff was friendly and accommodating.
