SUMMARY:

Villa Princesa is an exceptional two-bed, one-bath apartment in the 500-year-old historic city of Old San Juan. You will love the stark contrast of the historic exterior and the completely renovated interior of this professionally decorated apartment. As you enter, you’ll be greeted by beautiful details that will charm your way throughout the whole apartment. By just opening the doors to the balcony you’ll embrace natural light, the beautiful sight of cobblestone street Calle del Sol, and the warmth of Puerto Rican people.

The thought-out design of this property offers a full kitchen, AC throughout the property,  flatscreen TV’s in both bedrooms and the living room, and a washer and dryer that make it ideal for extended stays. From Villa Princesa, you'll be able to enjoy everything Old San Juan has to offer, it is a short walk from the nightlife and restaurants of Calle San Sebastian and El Morro Spanish fort.

LIVING AREAS

Villa Princesa's living room and open-concept kitchen area include a sofa and countertop with four bar stools, air conditioning, TV, wifi, and the kitchen. You'll also have the option of turning the AC off and opening the balcony doors to allow the natural breeze to enter the apartment. The balcony includes two chairs, where you can sit and relax while enjoying your morning coffee. 


SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

Villa Princesa has two exquisitely appointed bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed and a beautiful balcony overlooking the traditional cobblestone street of Calle del Sol. Occasional street noise may be heard from this bedroom, especially on the weekends, part of the charm and character of the old city. The second bedroom is a quiet interior room with a queen bed perfect for a great night's sleep. Each bedroom has air conditioning and a flat-screen TV. They also share a bathroom, which is also where the washer and dryer are located at. 

PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY): We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability.


KITCHEN

Villa Princesa has a recently renovated, open-concept kitchen. You'll be able to prepare meals while still being able to spend time socializing with your guests. The kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, four-burner stovetop, and coffee maker. 


LOCATION

Staying in Old San Juan is a unique experience of charm and character. From Villa Princesa, you can comfortably walk anywhere within Old San Juan. We recommend taking a cab or Uber from the airport and using Uber while you stay at Old San Juan. Renting a car is not necessary unless you are planning on road-tripping. This is a truly walkable location with everything you need a short walk away. The apartment does not include parking. Nonetheless, there are convenient parking lots close to the apartment.
There are many things to do in the surrounding areas; here are some of our favorites, all within walking distance:

Explore the El Morro Fort. The fort has daily tours, and the large green areas have spectacular ocean views. Take a tour, have a picnic, and fly a kite. This is a must-do.
Explore the iconic Calle San Sebastian nightlife. There is a large assortment of bars on this strip, a favorite among locals on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Breakfast at “La Mallorca.” This Puerto Rican landmark is known for its locally inspired breakfast and pastries.
Savor Stuffed Avocado. Healthy and "trendy" spot where you can create your own avocado bowl.
Take a stroll around “Paseo La Princesa”, a waterfront walkway where you can start at El Morro and finish off the walk with a rum tasting at Princesa Gastrobar at the end of the trail.


GETTING AROUND

This property does not include parking. We recommend moving around via Uber if staying within the general San Juan/Metro area. If you decide to rent a car, there are various paid parking garages around Old San Juan - pricing varies as some charge by the hour, and others have a flat rate. 


TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, especially during the peak months of Hurricane Season, which are July to October. Travel insurance is inexpensive and will reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, this will depend on what the coverage purchased covers. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase. Disclaimer: we are not associated with any travel insurance companies.


AMENITIES

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.
West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel-size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay.

 
HOUSE RULES

Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
Check-out time is at 11:00 am
NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated, and you will be expelled from the property.
The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred by water or electrical service interruptions.  If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests can cancel their reservation and request a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
All bookings are contingent on signing a short-term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
Maximum occupancy of 4 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors. 
Max. occupancy is strictly enforced, and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of reservation or being expelled from the property.    
Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease, or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged. 
Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule.

San Juan Get Away
The location and renovation of this apartment was seriously amazing! Such nice boho Spanish vibe with two balconies that overlooked the San Juan streets but wasn’t too loud like other blocks. Walking distance to everything! The only changes would be the shower water never got very warm and the floors could be cleaned just a little more. Would highly recommend and come back again!

Adorable and clean apartment in outstanding location of Old San Juan
We had a fantastic 3-night stay and took our time to explore Old San Juan. We enjoyed a few outstanding restaurants nearby: Deaverdura and El Jibarito. It was nice to stay a bit away from the cruise line chaos and see more of the real OSJ. I enjoyed coffee out on the balcony in the morning. Mostly we were out and about walking the city and enjoying the culture - forts, architecture and awesome Puerto Rican food! I miss it already. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent Location
This was our fourth visit in as many years to Puerto Rico. Excellent location in Viejo San Juan near most tourist sites, restaurants, and nightlife. Had a minor issue with hot water in the bathroom shower that the host resolved within hours. Great communication from the host and an uncomplicated check in and check out process. Loved listening to the coqui or two that have taken up residence in the inner courtyard. Would definitely stay here again.

Convenience in Old San Juan
Fantastic location in very safe building (apartment on 2nd floor). Very close to sights, restaurants and grocery store/pharmacy. No place to put a car … we used Uber all week (cheaper than a rental). Only downside would be very few comfy places to sit, but we were out most of the time. Highly recommend!

Very nice clean apartment. The host was very accommodating. Had everything we needed to begin our stay and a grocery store within walking distance. We were able to walk to many of the places we were wanting to visit and uber was readily available for anywhere not within walking distance.

Great location. Close to everything. Powerful air conditioning!
The place was super clean. It was also so nice to get to a place where the air conditioning had made it nice and cool. There was no laundry detergent when we arrived which was a bit annoying since it was the last leg of our trip and we had booked this place specifically because it had the washer and dryer. The host gave us a recommendation for a grocery store to go purchase detergent (which of course isn’t sold in small quantities). Overall this place was perfect. If we had stayed longer I’m sure we could have made use of the space, especially the terrace.

Very clean and comfortable
I loved this apartment. It was very comfortable for me, my husband and our 14 year old son. The location was excellent. It’s in a very safe area that is walking distance to just about everywhere you would want to visit in Old San Juan. So much attention to detail was spent towards cleanliness which was great. I would definitely look into staying at this apartment on my next visit.
