This penthouse apartment offers stunning views of Old San Juan and the ocean from its private rooftop. Perfect for family gatherings, it’s located near top restaurants, bars, and landmarks like El Morro, blending modern comfort with colonial charm.
This beautifully renovated colonial apartment offers some of the most stunning ocean views in Old San Juan. Through its three grand balcony doors and from the spacious 1,100-square-foot rooftop deck, you’ll have nearly 180-degree views over the 500-year-old San Cristobal Castle, the historic city walls, and the endless blue of the ocean. Open the traditional Spanish shutters to let in the morning light and ocean breeze, then head up to the rooftop for coffee in the shade or sunbathing. In the evenings, the rooftop becomes a perfect spot for dinner or relaxing with a cold local beer.
Inside, this 1,100-square-foot apartment is designed with high ceilings, charming interior archways, and ample space. Located on the second floor of a bright blue, two-story colonial building, it occupies the entire ocean-view side. The apartment includes two bedrooms: a master bedroom with ocean views right from the bed and a second, comfortable bedroom. Each has a newly updated modern ensuite bathroom with rain showers and high ceilings. The apartment features fast, reliable fiber-optic internet. The living room, dining area, and kitchen flow seamlessly together and connect to an indoor patio where the gentle sound of rain can sometimes be heard through an open skylight. The kitchen is fully equipped for gourmet cooking.
The location is also superb and walkable:
Right next to the San Cristobal Castle, with El Morro just a few blocks away, you’re surrounded by two of the oldest and most well-preserved fortresses in the Western Hemisphere.
Enjoy a scenic walk along the city wall that connects these two historic castles, with grassy parks along the way where locals fly kites.
A 10-minute walk in the other direction brings you to a local beach, and a bit further lies Condado, the modern and stylish part of San Juan.
Fantastic restaurants, bars, live music venues, unique shopping spots, art galleries, quaint museums, and essential conveniences (like supermarkets and pharmacies) are all just a few blocks away.
Nearly all major historic sites are within a 5-10 minute walk.
A few things to keep in mind:
Being in a lively downtown area, you may hear some weekend noise, and street parking can be limited, so nearby parking garages are recommended.
This is a peaceful retreat ideal for reading, writing, and relaxation, but it’s not suited for parties or gatherings outside of registered guests. Exceptions may be considered upon request.
There is a fully functional 32-inch TV with streaming capabilities, though the captivating views outside are hard to beat.
Old San Juan occasionally experiences water or power outages that affect the entire area. This apartment is equipped with a rooftop water reservoir, providing fresh water if needed. We also provide flashlights, lanterns, and a backup battery system for small devices during power interruptions.
The apartment is accessible by one flight of stairs, and there is no elevator in the building.
