Neighborhood:
Dolores Heights is centrally located between the Castro, Noe Valley and the Mission. It includes Mission Dolores -- the oldest building in San Francisco, and Dolores Park -- one of the most popular parks in the city. As you may know, the Castro (centered 4 blocks west) is the historic gay center of San Francisco -- it features restaurants, bars, the Castro Theater, shopping, and an ever-increasing number of coffee shops and day spas. The Mission (centered 3 blocks east) is a historically Latino neighborhood. It, too, features restaurants, bars, the Roxie Theater, shopping and an ever-increasing number of coffee shops and boutiques.


Access:
Private entrance to your own efficiency studio (including bathroom) - this is not just a room in a house! You will be assigned a unique code that you can use to access the unit at any time during your stay: no keys needed.

Transit:
San Francisco has excellent public transportation, and all of it is easily accessible from here.
The Muni J-Church line is two blocks away and will take you downtown; it also connects with other lines that can take you to virtually any part of SF. The Castro and Church stations are four blocks away.

The 22, 24, 33, and F all stop within 2-4 blocks of the apartment and will take you to various parts of the city.

BART is also nearby -- the 16th & Mission station is only five blocks away.

There is a bike share station 18th and Dolores street 3 blocks away. In fact, everything you need is easily walkable, so you don't need a car.

If you do have a car, free on-street parking is available. Parking spots are typically ample, and with notice you can use the private spot in front of the driveway. However, there is a 2-hour parking limit for non-resident vehicles from 8am to 9pm Monday through Friday. That means you need to move your car every two hours during the day. Nights are easier -- if you park your car after 7pm you can leave it there until 10am the next morning.

All that being said, temporary parking permits are available. They eliminate the 2-hour restriction so that you can park all day. Please contact us for availability and pricing.


Notes:
You can stay up to 28 days with us, and we will provide you with fresh towels and bedding, soap, coffee, etc. as often as you request it ;)

Please feel free to consult the house manual (click on 'itinerary'), which can be accessed through the AirBnB website as soon as you book the studio.

For your information: there are two apartments above the studio; you may intersect with the neighbors living above in the stairs area. The neighbors are respectful and quiet. The unit is mostly soundproof, but you may occasionally hear people walking upstairs (as is usually the case in apartments)

Great host!
My friend and I wanted a quick get away to San Francisco, but didn’t want to stay in the heart of the city. This rental, steps away from public transportation and Dolores Park, was perfect! Russ was very accommodating with an early check in and provided us with great recommendations for the area. The unit was clean and exactly what we expected. We regularly stay in VRBO rentals when we travel and Russ has been our greatest host! We can’t wait to return to SF and stay here again!

Can't beat Noe Valley location
This is a very small studio but well-appointed, with great shower - that has a location that can't be beat, steps from Dolores Park. The owner was very helpful with recommendations for pizza, ice cream, bakeries, all that is walkable in or near Noe Valley, and any questions re the studio apartment - and even provided us an update with rainy day activities.

A perfect place to say for a working week in San Francisco
Great location to spend a working week in town. Accurately described and super convenient to walk around and get around the city as needed. It doesn't have a desk for working but I was able to do shorter working sessions using the coffee table, but preferred to get out when I could. Host was helpful and reached out proactively to make sure everything was okay.

Fabulous Studio

Bright studio in great location

Amazing stay!
Russ was very accommodating even when I arrived earlier than expected. He provided some fun things to do and places to eat as well. Sweet getaway
I lived in SF for over a decade, so when I came back “home” for this trip I wanted to live the way I used to — I’d say like a semi-local. I didn’t need all the amenities of a hotel like a gym, daily maid service or a doorman. And I didn’t need a full kitchen and extra unused rooms, like an apartment. So for me, Russ’s place was the perfect blend. It’s like a good-sized hotel room with a thoughtful layout and just enough space to stretch out. A solo traveler could do well here for an extended stay. A couple might want to limit it to a long weekend. It’s not really suitable for more than two adults without dealing with boundary issues. Overall, I’d say for the solo traveler like me, definitely book here. For couples taking a nice little holiday, you would probably do very well here (unless you have bigger issues than a Vrbo can fix.) The host was terrific. At one point during my stay the keypad entry system ran out of juice. Russ was incredibly responsive and had it fixed in no time. He had excellent recommendations for dining and things to do and he kept a man impressively stocked sundry cabinet. Great trip, great property.

A Wonderful Stay in the Heart of SF!

Amazing property in the heart of San Francisco.
As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed by our hosts and assured all our needs would be met. Indeed they were. The neighborhood was delightful and close to all including coffee shops (with amazing fresh baked goods), restaurants, art galleries, entertainment and everything in between. The cute studio has a view of downtown and the windows open to the beautiful neighborhood. The bed was perfect and the studio was stocked with many amenities. Thank you Russ! Very nice studio in a great location. Outside hallway to the entrance of the studio was odd and would benefit from additional lights. While it was extremely safe, i was reluctant to come back alone at night and had my friend walk me in. Overall, a good, quiet place to stay for four nights and local to the park and restaurants.

Enjoyed our stay very much. The owner was very responsive to our needs. The only issue is that the stairs to the unit were many and very steep. The pictures in the listing did not show that as it would have made a difference to my wife and I as we are both older than 60 and the climb was difficult going up and down.
