Below you will find details about our 2 bed/ 1 bath home, Betty's Beach Bungalow, located in the heart of Pacific Beach.

Betty's bungalow is an adorable, very reasonably-priced house, within blocks of dozens of restaurants, grocery stores, shops, bars and nightclubs. It is just 5 blocks to the ocean or 7 blocks to the bay. The fenced in yard makes this house a great place for families to enjoy the California lifestyle. There is a deck with outdoor seating and a BBQ gas grill, perfect for dining in!

Enjoy all San Diego has to offer in this comfortable house with forced air heating and oak hardwood floors. The master bedroom has a top-of-the-line queen bed and TV. The second bedroom has a bunk bed with full size mattresses on both the upper and lower beds. There is a queen sofa bed in the living room. It has WIFI, ROKU, phone, DVD player, laundry room, off-street parking and all the amenities you need to enjoy your stay. Just bring your clothes, toiletries and sunglasses. Oh, and you don't have to leave that very important part of your family at home or in a kennel because this property is pet-friendly.

This lovely vacation home is only minutes away from SeaWorld, the world famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Old Town with it's excellent restaurants, Belmont Park and it's authentic 1920's wooden roller-coaster, Seaport Village, downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, the Convention Center and Petco Park. Come and enjoy everything San Diego has to offer without spending all your money on the rental fee!

Vacation rentals in San Diego are for the most part, second homes for the owners. Therefore, some furniture or decor may differ from what is pictured because the owners needed or wanted to replace something. Professional photos are expensive and we can not re-photograph the rental every time something is changed but we do maintain the listing content with any notable furnishing changes especially related to sleeping arrangements. (*Please note: We do not give refunds because a piece of furniture or artwork has changed)

*NOTE: This home is in a residential neighborhood and, as such, is a NOISE SENSITIVE property. Respect must be shown for the property and neighbors at all times. No loud music, parties, and or loud talking outside after 9 pm. Violation of these rules MAY result in immediate eviction from the property per your rental agreement, and/or fines from the San Diego Police. Please review your rental agreement for complete details and rules about your home!

It is important for you to read all the details about your property. We highlight everything you need to know about your vacation rental in our listing, through emails, some home manuals, in-home signage and phone correspondence. We want our guests to feel prepared, informed and at ease while staying with us. We are always available if you have questions!

Upon confirming your booking, we will send you a rental agreement for your upcoming stay which you will need to complete. We will also contact you within 24 hours of the booking to obtain contact information and to address any questions or concerns you may have regarding your upcoming visit along with the House Rules & Rental Agreement. The check-in details will not be shared until the rental agreement has been signed.

Attention Guests: In addition to completing our electronic rental agreement, you will also be required to participate in our identity verification process. The service is offered through Autohost; an intelligent guest screening software that automates ID verifications, background and credit checks, security deposits and more, helping to improve guest experience and safety. Please note: for the credit card verification, a $2 hold will be placed on the card to run the report. This hold will never process and will fall off automatically within 7 days. Please contact us with any questions.

If you have never stayed in a vacation rental before, we are not a hotel, WE ARE BETTER! We offer many of the same luxuries of a hotel with the comfort and space of home to share with your whole family. Our property owners are our friends and we work with each owner to offer a special, specific and ideal environment for guests to experience and enjoy. All of our homes offer similar amenities so you can expect the same experience whenever staying with us.

With that said, we need you to do your part in helping us maintain each home. Please be attentive to ALL RESPONSIBILITIES as a guest of our home. Trash/Recycling, Check-out duties, Communication to management and Care of the home all help us give each guest and family a home to feel at home in. *We provide 2 complimentary bikes for our guests. If there is any issue with the bikes we will do everything we can to fix the issue with our maintenance team, but there will be NO compensation if the issue cannot be resolved.

We like our guests to feel at home as soon as they arrive! We provide a 'starter kit' to help our guests get settled without needing to rush off to the store. We can provide a portable a/c for an additional fee, contingent on availability. Please contact us to reserve one in our limited inventory as soon as possible. Deliveries are scheduled 24 hours in advance.

Our kits include: paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, soap, linens, towels, kitchen sponges, dish soap, laundry detergent and fabric softener, dishwasher soap when applicable, trash bags, either Keurig coffee makers or standard coffee makers, extra blankets, sometimes extra pillows, extra sheets-for sleeper sofas, hair dryers, ironing boards, kitchens fully stocked-enough for max occupancy with some extra settings, toasters, some waffle makers, blenders, tool kits, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, co2/fire detectors, and most homes have heat available.

While on vacation, we want our guests to enjoy their vacation to the fullest and we feel in order for our guests to do this, they should also feel informed. Our emails serve to educate you on your vacation rental home, the surrounding area, responsibilities, what to expect and how to get in touch with us. We respect your privacy so our emails help provide you with all you need to know to reference as you please.

In addition, most of our properties have House Manuals detailing specific information about the property, amenities and responsibilities. Not to mention an awesome section on attractions, events, restaurants and more to help guide you during your stay in San Diego!

Holiday 2024 Policy:
6 night minimum AND Saturday check-in is REQUIRED during our holiday season (December 21-January 4). One reservation CANNOT take both holidays, unless it is a 2-week reservation. There are no arrivals OR departures on Christmas or New Year's Day.

Summer 2024 Policy:
Beginning Memorial Day to Labor Day, Saturday to Saturday is required with 6-7 night reservations. On July 4th 2024, check-in or check-out is NOT permitted. An arrival on a Friday or Sunday may be possible, please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you.

Last Minute Booking Policy:
​​​​​​​If a guest books with us directly or on any OTA such as Airbnb and VRBO, within 72 hours of arrival, verification credentials are required. By making a payment on the reservation, the guest agrees to comply with our last minute booking policy.

To properly vet a guest with such short notice requires the following; a “selfie” photo specifically of the booking guest's face and holding either a Driver's License, Passport or State ID photo under their chin. We are just looking for a name to match and the photo on the ID to match that of the person in the selfie. This can be sent by email or text to our company email address. Additionally, we need to confirm guest details such as, payment, contact information, applicable check-in time, number of guests and ages, any pets, etc.

This process is required, and if a guest refuses to comply then the reservation will be canceled. We have found this procedure to be successful in avoiding fraud, and protecting all parties! We appreciate your cooperation and we are available to help with any questions.

Nightly Minimum Policy:
4 night minimum required in the off season.
6 nights AND a Saturday Check-in is REQUIRED during peak season (June - August). Arrival on Friday or Sunday instead may be an option.
(Please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you!)

Arrival/Departure Policy:
Check in time is 3 pm and strictly enforced. (From Memorial Day through Labor Day, check-in is at 4pm)
Check out time is 11 am.

Please follow all instructions for your arrival and departure in our email and phone call correspondence. There is signage around the home to assist with the use of amenities and questions that you may have during your stay. We are available too, even after hours-give us a call!

Pet Policy: This property is pet-friendly. Please note: a pet fee of $200 plus tax for the first pet, and $150 plus tax for second pet. Please send breed and pet description(s) for approval on your pet's stay.

We had a very comfortable stay. The house was clean and the location was great. The grocery store was literally a short walk around the block. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed in terms of kitchen equipment.

Loved it!
This was a great place to stay for me and my friends. We had the best time being able to walk to restaurants, the beach, great shopping and fun bars! The house itself is really cute, clean, and comfortable. I would recommend it to both twenty-somethings and families on vacation!

Great Location
Perfect spot to enjoy Pacific Beach and the greater San Diego area. East walking to restaurants, the ocean (7 min), grocery store (30 seconds) and still quiet at night. House is nice and comfortable. Very responsive management. Had no problems.

This property is so cool! Close to shopping, dining and beach. We loved having a driveway to park! My kids loved the boogie boards and the beach toys. Sprouts is right next door. Must try better buzz coffee so tasty! Will def be staying here again!

Great location - adorable house!
We had a wonderful time staying in this adorable bungalow. It's close to everything - the beach, great restaurants and bars, shopping, Trader Joe's and Sprouts... anything you could need! The house is comfortable and cozy. It seems to have been updated since the photos were taken. There was some new, cute furniture and decor that made it feel more modern. We would definitely stay here again!

This is our second stay at Bettys Beach Bungalow. Checkin was 3pm...maid still there at 4:15, delayed our checkin. Happened last time too. Many broken or non functional items, celing fans, washing machine didnt work, oven takes twice as long to bake and front right burner not working. Hot water DANGEROUSLY HOT EXTREMELY bright at night. Neighbors lights shine right into bedrooms and since no AC Cant hang shades over Windows. Woken multiple times by loud cars and screamjng fights at 2am. Big party neighborhood. Laura at Nancys vacation rentals was EXTREMELY helpful but none of issues resolved during our stay. Would use Nancys again but NOT THIS PROPERTY. .

Perfect Location
This house was perfect for our family of four (plus puppy). Close to a ton of restaurants, literally around the corner from Sprouts, less than a ten minute walk to the beach, and within a 20 minute drive, so many different activities!! The house is a little older, which adds to it's charm and the fall breeze goes through wonderfully!! The property manager(s) are easy to contact and keep in touch to make sure things are going well.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The house was clean and generally well maintained and although we did have one minor maintanence issue, when we reported it, Nancy was very responsivie and took care of it immediately. I enjoyed taking daily walks from the house to the beach and along the seashore. The house is very conveniently located with Trader Joes and Henry's Market Place less than a block away, and it was also within walking distance to several good restaurants, including Nicks Seafood. We liked the fact that it was a central location for trips to Seaworld, the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park. We would highly recommend it and would gladly return for our next vacation.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was very clean and freshly painted...for an older house. The double sized bunk beds were very firm and “jiggly” for our teenagers. However, the nice surprise was a very comfortable Lazyboy queen pullout sofa bed in the living room which saved us. Pillows and bedding was very well equipped. Everything worked well. The bathroom door needs some WD 40 because the hinges sqeaked so load at night it woke up the light sleepers in our group (easy fix). Overall, this was a very cute place in a great location with a wonderful grocery store in Sprouts just around the corner. We would definitely recommend and stay here again ourselves.

I sent a letter summarizing all that was wrong with the condition of the place. Without hesitation I requested a full refund. The experience caused my brother and I a tremendous amount of stress. Shame on you all!! Please refer to my letter dated 8/20/23. It was sent priority mail yesterday.

Great Little House in SD
Everything that is in the control of the property management company is done excellently. House was clean, plenty of linens, fans, supplies, etc. Communication was above and beyond. We felt well taken care of and looked after during our stay. They even gave us a number to text to make it easier to communicate. Location was great. Easy walk to sprouts for groceries (literally behind the house. I felt goofy when I drove to it). Great restaurants and coffee shops all within walking distance too. Ocean and bay are both walkable but a little far with wagon and beach gear. On our tired days we just drove (but beware parking is difficult every where). Overall a great, comfy stay, away from the downtown SD area which kept things mostly quiet. We would stay here again and will definitely book with Nancy's Vacation Rentals when we're in the area again. 5 star property management company. Couple things of note: * the neighbors enjoy having parties. They were over by about 11 each night so we slept fine (and the fans generally blocked out noise) but some nights were harder to get kiddos to sleep than others. * there is a green trash can in front of the property that is used by everyone as a general purpose trash can even though it's organic matter only. We didn't put anything in it and it was overflowing when we got there. The trash company didn't take it either. Use the trash cans out the back of the property.

Great location but needs update
First and foremost - we have appreciated the prompt attention to all our correspondences. Everyone has been kind and attentive and easy to work with - they did a fabulous job of attending to costumer service Unfortunately.... There was a mildew oder in one of the rooms with visible mold on the wall that never completely resolved enough to feel comfortable sleeping in that room - even after trial of mold blocking agent and use of a fan to dry it out - ultimately, this meant that the 2 bedroom home became a 1 bedroom home - resulting in 4 adults and 1 infant uncomfortably crowded together. Summary - This home might have worked if the 2nd room was usable - otherwise - it's more likely a home where people just come to sleep after being out and about in the area. We frequent PB and have rented multiple times - this is our first less then ideal experience. I do not recommend Betty's beach rental - it is in desperate need of t A more thorough cleaning, updating and repair

We really enjoyed staying in this house. The location was perfect. It was a really nice neighborhood and blocks from the beach. We stayed for a month this year and are looking forward to renting it again next year!

Comfort at Great Location
With this great location, I might have anticipated the noise of neighbors and traffic, but I didn’t (we live in a quiet neighborhood). Nonetheless, the noise wasn’t too bad, and it ended before late at night. We enjoyed our stay.

If this house were for sale, I would have bought it! Adorable, great back patio, walk everywhere!
No issues at all renting. Loved the house. Loved the proximity to all that PB has to offer. My only recommendation is the drawers in the kitchen need a deep clean as does the laundry room and the dishwasher needs to be replaced as it is not stable.

Good Family (with small children) Vacation Experience
The house is exactly as described - and in a location that offers all types of options for food and entertainment. It was clean and stocked with virtually everything you could possibly need. Kids slept in the bunks with plenty of room for 3 and the main bedroom has ample space for all your "stuff". If you're a light sleeper you might struggle with some neighborhood noises, but otherwise it's within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and the beach. Plus, a grocery store about 100 feet away. No real problems getting rides from the location - we didn't rent a car but there's a driveway for at least 2 vehicles. We walked each night to restaurants and while the street is dark at night, we felt pretty comfortable walking with three kids and a stroller around the area. I received several calls from the management company to check on our satisfaction before and during the trip - very responsive and accommodating. If you're looking for a cute, clean, simple house within walking distance to the beach/boardwalk you've found the right place.

Betty is the Best!
The four of us had a wonderful time at Betty‘s. Check in/out was easy peasy. Well located, clean, smallish but very adequate for our party of four. The full sized bunk beds where a nice touch for comfort. Loved the private outside deck in the back with the grill. Really appreciated having the bikes to use and a significant cost savings. Having the Sprouts right out the back door was very convenient. If I’m back in Pacific Beach I will definitely rent this again.

Family and Pet Friendly Betty’s Beach Bungalow
We rented this cottage because it was dog friendly and because of its location and it didn’t disappoint! It is fabulous to be able to walk to the beach, bay, coffee shops, restaurants, grocery and drug stores Oh, and did I mention Trader Joe’s? The bed and bedding were good as were the towels. There were bikes, beach toys and chairs we didn’t use as it was January after all. It is an older home and could use a little TLC but we would consider renting it again next year.
