Fantastic location! Easy walking distance to Little Italy or the USS Midway and cruise ships. The staff was great and parking was convenient. My only gripe was having a room on the Beech St side (I thought I was avoiding the Fire Station on the other side). It was THE noisiest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. The incessant dinging from the railroad crossing just outside the window only stopped from midnight to 4 am. Also we heard every plane take off from the airport which is very close by. I saw other reviews saying it was a quiet hotel so maybe it was just the Beech St side. Otherwise it was great!

Everything was in general good, except for a hidden $40 per day parking fee. Do ensure with the parking fee, if this hotel is still under your budget. Also, during entire Christmas week, there was no cleaning and we had to make multiple requests to clear the garbage.

We stayed there for 5 days. At check in we were told that room service is every other day , unless requested otherwise. Sign inside the room also stated the same thing. On day 3 we still didn’t get room service. I had to go a request it at the front desk, and we got it the following day. Lobby bathroom was filthy dirty for two days (covered either in dirt or excrements, not sure). I brought it up to the front desk twice . It was cleaned on the third day. Beds and pillows are of poor quality - lumpy and thin. We liked the coffee shop next door (Portal Coffee) - excellent coffee and pasties . Breakfast at the hotel was not edible . Location is good, with Little Italy just couple of blocks away, with a great selection of restaurants. Big nice playground is across the street, for kids to get some steam off.

booked 3 rooms. 1 of them had bad moldy smell so asked for change. Was told that it needed to be checked by a staff member. That staff told me, "I dont smell anything." So I told them that I would change my room with my other family member, thinking that maybe it was just me. Apparently it wasn't just me. My family member smelt the same and we ended up changing the room. Although they did change the room, it wasn't pleasant at all that they wanted to "check the room" when I asked them to change the room due to moldy smell which I've never experienced with any other hotels/motels/inns.

Breakfast was really good. Filipino workers are hardworking people. They keep their spaces clean all the time. Front desk workers are slackers and don’t know how to make the room keys and parking work.
