Unbearably Hot
I arrived at 7pm on a day where it was around 87-89° outside all afternoon. The place was 90° inside with only 2 oscillating fans to cool the place off. This was in the details of the listing, but I couldn’t stay in a place that was 90° at night. I told the host about the situation and how the front door didn’t have a seal on it, which let constant hot air leak in all day. I was told to put a bucket of ice water in front of a fan or open a window. Keep in mind it’s still 85° so opening a window won’t exactly help the situation. I asked if I could pay for the first night and get the rest refunded, but I was denied. I ended up staying at a hotel my whole stay instead, and thankfully was able to get a full refund from VRBO due to the bad experience.

Interior Property Good, Outside Not So Much
Prime reason we selected this property to stay at was it was advertised as being centrally located, within 15-20 minutes of the primary attractions in San Diego, and it was. Interior was clean and well kept. Kitchen was well-equipped and good for preparing meals. Queen bed was firm, but very comfortable for. Nice tub and shower, and the seat-high toilet was a pleasant surprise. Good internet service. Good and quick responses from the management company when we had any questions. Now for the not-so-good items. The photos used to display the property were obviously from years ago. Now the "azure" paint on the outside is faded and peeling, as is all the paint on the outside. The neighborhood is not the best in the world, with metal security fixtures on literally every home and business for multiple blocks around the area. Very busy street which made getting into or out of the reserved parking in front of the building a daily adventure. 24/7 traffic noise, fireworks (I hope they were fireworks) going off every evening, yappy pack of 6 Pomeranians barking day and night next door, plus same neighbor had their dryer vent coming out to the top of the fence and blowing their dryer-sheet smell directly into the living room and bedroom windows if they were open. Also saw evidence of at least 3 auto accidents on same busy street. Pull-out futon bed very uncomfortable to sit on, and easy chair stained. I know the concerned items the property can't control, but future guests are warned.

Bright, Cheery & Welcoming Sea Breezes
Unit was immaculately clean and as advertised. Kitchen was unusually well supplied with quality cookware and tableware. Our favorite feature was having several windows on all four sides of the unit so we could enjoy the sunshine and sea breezes. Each time we needed to contact the host, she was quickly available with her response. One negative that is beyond the host's control are 5-6 very excitable & loud dogs that bark often, including wee hours of the night. It was only a minor annoyance for us, but if noise is a problem for you, bring ear plugs or noise canceling headphones.
