Cons
- when we arrived the a/c was turned off and it was sweltering in there. We turned the air on and left for several hours. When we came back it was still unbearably hot. I messaged the property contact. After an hour of no reply, we went and bought giant fans. Even with the fans, we were up all night sweating. It did not cool down to a tolerable temperature until 12 hours after we arrived. In the morning, I finally got a reply from the property manager and was shocked at her reply. “You must have froze the unit. We’ll have to move you to another room so the technician can come look at it. If it is broken you will be responsible for replacing it.” The air unit was not frozen. It was just too small to cool down a room allowed to heat up to almost 100 degees. I explained this in my reply message and told her we actually own an HVAC company and know when a unit is frozen. Her only reply was, “good for you owning your own company.” I was so shocked at how defensive she was. She could have offered us more fans or apologized or something but instead threatened us with replacing the a/c unit. We were so put off by her rudeness that we packed up and left that morning to go stay in a hotel. Our travel insurance is reimbursing us for the days we did not stay there.
- the tub is great for taking a soak but is difficult to get in and out of. If you have any mobility issues, you will not be able to use the tub/shower. There are no handles or anything to grab onto. The rug is slippery and the tub is surrounded by big rocks you cannot step on.
- the tv is in the “kitchen” area and cannot be seen from the bed. If you want to watch tv, you have to sit in the hard plastic chairs.
- There were stains on the sheets and the blinds in the bathroom were either dirty or burnt.
- There were no cushions on the patio furniture so you couldn’t use it unless you sat on the hard woven plastic.
- The kitchen only has a fridge. If you want a microwave or hot plate you have to request it in advance apparently. I only you know it is available by request because I read the other reviews and it came up.
If the managers didn’t turn the air off when the unit was unoccupied, installed some railing for the tub, and didn’t get so defensive and rude at any issue, this could be a nice place.
