Built in 2005, our charming, cosy apartment is on Rue des Frahans in an attractive and traditional development of 12 apartments near the River Clevieux, a 5 minute walk from the heart of the historic alpine village of Samoens with its bustling shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The apartment building and gardens are immaculately maintained. A pizza take-away is a 2 minute walk away from the apartment and a wonderful fromagerie is a one minute walk away towards Samoens centre. Samoens is a superb summer and winter destination.
The apartment is a 1-minute walk to the free ski-bus (a choice of two stops), a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk along the river to the Grand Massif Express gondola with plentiful car parking and an amazing bakery at its base.
The ground floor apartment extends to 32 sq m, has been lovingly maintained and is in a peaceful residential location, surrounded by well-maintained gardens. It is cosy and welcoming and has been nicely furnished in a traditional alpine style.
The property can sleep up to 7 guests in a flexible way, although 7 may feel "cosy" for some guests. It is equally well suited to couples, families with children, extended families or larger groups. It offers the following accommodation:
• 1 bedroom (double bed) with large wardrobe (hanging rail, two drawers, 4 cupboards with storage space on top).
• a “coin montagne” (triple bunk bed) in a cosy alcove in the hallway that is equally comfortable for children and adults
• a double sofa-bed in the living area that sleeps two adults very comfortably.
It has a large, private and sunny terrace (18 sq m) with a picnic table seating up to 6 people and a private but not enclosed garden area (20 sq m) with fabulous views of the Criou Mountain and waterfall. There are four reclining sun chairs for use on the terrace and in the garden. We ask our guests to consider our neighbours by not smoking/vaping on the terrace or in the garden.
The apartment is very well equipped, with a washing machine (situated in the bathroom), dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a range of kitchen appliances including toaster, kettle, Senseo coffee machine, cafetiere and tea pot. There is a raclette set with extension power cable, 2 fondue sets and a hand mixer. There is an extendable dining table (from 4 to 7 spaces), a comfortable sofa bed, arm chair and flat-screen TV with DVD player in the main living area. There is an Amazon Firestick for guests' use - just bring your passwords for Netflix etc and remember to log out before you leave.
There is a large bathroom with a washing machine, sink, lit mirror, bath with modern shower over and glass shower screen, heated towel radiator, clothes drying rail and a separate WC.
There are DVD's, books (in French and English) and board games for guests’ use.
The apartment is offered with free fibre broadband.
We do not have a cot or high chair but guests are welcome to bring their own if driving, or equipment can be hired locally.
There is storage for skis and bikes in a very secure but unheated cave and separate ski store in the basement, which are both available for guests’ use. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer ski boot dryers. These facilities are accessed from the main hallway via lit concrete stairs and three locked doors using keys located in the apartment. Ski storage with ski boot dryers is also available on the mountain or at the base of the main gondola.
Private on-site ground level parking is also available.
Entering the hall there’s a cosy triple bunk on the left, each bunk with its own lighting, a metal ladder and a privacy curtain. A separate WC and bathroom are on the right. Leading off the hallway is the double bedroom and the spacious and open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area. There is a large picture window with glazed door leading out onto the terrace and private garden with lovely mountain views. All windows have external shutters.
