Beautiful pousada close to historic centre
Very good stay at this pousada in a historic building. Very nicely decorated with friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Good location near historic centre.

Wonderful Staff
Our stay at the Pousada Colonial was highlighted by wonderful staff! Del, in particular, was extremely helpful in researching activities that we asked (surfing) and accommodating our bags before and after check out. We would definitely stay here again!

I do not like to write that much i just want to say my expirience was unbelivable i was holding conversation with hotel personel in English and Portuguese asking them for guide as I was at the hotel,here help was important in moving around Salvador ,thanks to there guide i enjoy myself , great vacation.

The area is one of my favorite areas in Salvador
The Colonial is amazing simple room with one of the most comfortable beds I’ve stayed in while in Brazil for the 12 years I’ve been traveling to Bahia. The staff was helpful and friendly, I’ll be back again and again.

Lovely interior, helpful staff and good ish locale but severely let down by ability to control noise . They state on hotel website about getting a good sleep.... don't count on it. Building has practically no windows (shutters primarily, which do not in all cases cover window gaps) so any noise from street is audible throughout entire hotel at any time ie bar across street (5 metres away) which plays live music until 2300 then carries on until after 0000. Heaven knows if this repeats every night the bar is open... apparently police do not come to shut bar so answer is to better soundproof otherwise tjis pousada fails in any accomodations aim ie to ensure a good nights dleep Management compound problem by not shutting first floor shutters to balcony until 0100 as a rule for benefit of all guests. We had to ask to get shut on music night. Madness. Internally layout of building interior compounds any noise internal and external,so difficult for anyone to sleep who does not have ear plugs and even then thats no guarantee. you will not get woken up early as staff prepare breakfast. In short disappointing and not recommended. Harsh comments but true Avoid if you want to sleep when you want and at a reasonable hour

This place has everything i look for. It was clean. It was conveniently located. It's staff enhanced my trip with their help. The breakfasts of fresh juices and banian specialities were amazing. And it was a good value in a beautiful building. No complaints.

3 wonderful nights
The staff at Pousada Colonial were incredibly helpful, friendly and available 24hours per day. It was a fantastic walk into the main square and we could park our car out the front at no cost and secure. Our room was 35feet long and had two balconies but the cost was amazingly inexpensive.(with breakfast included) We had 3 wonderful nights.

For a nice stay at the historical district
Pousada Colonial is right in the historical district, a stone's throw from Carmo Church and a 15 minute walk from Pelourinho. Breakfast (by Brazilian law) is included but the rooms have few amenities: no TV or mini-bar (there is a communal TV in the living room upstairs that I never saw anyone use during our stay. There IS free wi-fi and the rooms are air-conditioned and there is a safe for valuables. Many restaurants close by, including a jazz club across the street. So it's not exactly a luxury hotel, but just the atmosphere pays for itself - when was the last time you slept in a 17th Century Colonial-era hotel?

My stay was short -- one night -- but all of the staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. A very substantial breakfast, including, surprisingly, healthy foods. Tastefully decorated. Will stay longer next time. Recommended.

Great Location
The Pousada is a beautiful historic building with large, clean rooms and good amenities. The streets around the area are great to walk with many nice buildings, shops, restaurants and bars. We felt relatively safe walking around at night as there was always lots of people. The staff were all very friendly and the breakfasts were delicious. We had a great time and would highly recommend.

Amazing stay in Salvador
We were a bit tepid about booking a hotel for 2 full weeks for our honeymoon but were relieved once we arrived at Pousada Colonial. The staff was amazing. A huge hug goes out to the management. They were so helpful, knowledgeable, personable, and accommodating. One night we planned a spur of the moment trip to Morro de Sao Paulo and at 2 in the morning they helped us contact hotels on the island and to make reservations. We were greeted by name each morning. When we arrived they gave us copies of our passports. We told them where we were going one day and they verified the address online just to make sure it was safe for us. So many little things were done by the staff to make our stay wonderful. Breakfast was always excellent. Great fruit, bread, cheese bread, tea, and natural juice. The pousada itself is a short walk to the historic area and close to most anything interesting in the city by taxi. I never felt unsafe when walking back to the pousada, even late at night. It is a gorgeous building, easily the best looking pousada on the street. The room was simple. It was always well organized and clean when we came back for the day. The mattress was comfortable. The bathroom was very clean. This place was amazing. We loved it. When we came back from our trip from Morro de Sao Paulo, my wife said it felt like we were coming home.

L’accuel est très convivial ; nous avons reçu de l’aide pour monter les bagages dans l’escalier ; la chambre était au 1er étage ; elle était très spacieuse avec un grand lit et un petit lit mais les 2 fenètres ne donnaient pas sur l’exterieur mais sur l’interieur du bâtiment, ce qui est bien pour le calme mais moins bien pour la vue ; le wifi et la climatisation fonctionnaient très bien mais la télévision commune qui se trouve sur une terrasse près de la chambre était hors service ; le petit déjeuner était copieux et excellent avec des produits maison ; la façade de la pousada a beaucoup de caractère et des efforts sont faits pour la décoration intérieure ; il y a plusieurs très bons restaurants à proximité ; lus ne conseillons pas cette pousada aux personnes qui ont du mal à marcher car il y a des escaliers pour aller aux chambres mais aussi à la salle du petit déjeuner

Fui para o carnaval. Muito barulho pela rua, mas acredito que foi pela ocasião. Hotel simples porém atendeu nossas expectativas. Restaurantes próximos(na mesma rua) e a 10 min caminhando ao Pelourinho.
