“Host” never gave check in instructions and left us stranded the night of our arrival!!!!
Absolutely do not book this place!!! The host accepted my reservation & money for a ten day stay. I reached out via email for check in instructions and didn’t hear back but hosts often don’t send instructions until the day of arrival so I was not concerned. We spent the next 18 hours flying to Salvador. I arrived with my (adult) daughter at the location of the unit and was told by the very nice front desk lady that no instructions had been left for VRBO guests for any unit. We tried emailing the host and calling him repeatedly. The number he provided did not accept incoming calls!!! VRBO thank goodness managed to get my money back from him within a couple of days but we were stuck at 7pm in a new city scrambling to find a hotel room. Please avoid this fraudulent “host” at all costs. Subsequently, my reservation was allegedly cancelled due to “age restrictions” but that’s complete nonsense - as I stated, I was traveling with my ADULT daughter and there were in any case no child restrictions on the unit. I have seen other guests complain about last minute cancellations but it’s never happened to me. It’s insane that this fraud of a “host” couldn’t cancel the reservation before we got there so we could make alternate arrangements. I don’t know what kind of a scam he is running but it’s definitely a scam (and not a very good one).
