Originally dating back to the 1800s, the building was used as a bank for over 100 years until it was transformed into a huge art gallery in 2010. Directly inspired by its colourful history, Artsbank Apartment is a striking mix of original features and modern styling.
The Space:
Upon entering Artsbank Apartment, you will be captivated by the bright and airy feel.
To the left, you’ll find the open plan living area and kitchen. The gorgeous space has high ceilings and tall, arched windows which flood in light.
LIVING AREA
The living area is tranquil and peaceful. Kick back on the stylish, velvet sofa after a long day of exploring North Yorkshire. Get lost in a good book or switch on the flat-screen TV to catch up on your favourite shows.
KITCHEN
The kitchen is a trendy space with clean white cabinets and black worktops. Complete with an oven, microwave, kettle and large fridge freezer, Artsbank Apartment has everything you could need for your stay. There’s a coffee machine too so you can enjoy a tasty, fresh coffee each morning! The marble dining table seats four people and is the perfect spot for family breakfasts and evening meals with friends.
BEDROOM AND BATHROOM
Along the corridor, the door on the left reveals the first double bedroom. The beautiful room is classy and elegant with tall windows and neutral furnishings. An industrial style metal light fixture hangs in the middle of the room, drawing attention to the high ceilings. The room is complimented with gold and black creating a really sleek space.
Further along the corridor, you’ll find the main bathroom which features a large bath and shower. The room is spacious and modern with natural tones.
At the bottom of the long hallway is the main bedroom and en-suite. You’ll notice the original iron fireplace at first which looks striking in the large space. The charming room is complete with tall windows, an industrial style desk and a comfy king size bed.
The en-suite bathroom boasts a large shower and the same modern style which flows throughout the property.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full apartment. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
Free on street parking is available along the whole of the street and no permit is required.
The property is located on the second floor and accessed via a communal staircase. Please note there is no lift in the building so guests will need to climb several sets of stairs to reach Artsbank Apartment.
The Neighborhood:
Artsbank Apartment is located in the charming Victorian Spa town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea on the North Yorkshire coast.
Located in the heart of the town, the apartment is only a short walk from the beach and lower promenade. Take the oldest functioning cliff lift in the UK down to the promenade and you’ll arrive at the 208-metre pier which stretches out into the sea. The long sandy shores are overlooked by colourful boutique beach huts and high cliffs tower in the distance.
Artsbank Apartment is close to all local amenities including independent shops, bars, restaurants and bistros.
Saltburn has plenty of beautiful walks too. The Valley Gardens are a maze of paths and tracks which wind through the flowers and woodland. If you want to explore further, The Cleveland Way National Trail is over 100 miles long and Saltburn is included. If you fancy a 17.5 mile jaunt, start at Saltburn and walk your way to Sandsend. This walk is a great way to explore the North Yorkshire coastline and the views are beautiful!
Getting Around:
Artsbank Apartment is within walking distance of all that Saltburn has to offer and within 30 minutes’ drive time of Staithes, Whitby, Middlesbrough and the North Yorkshire Moors.
Saltburn Train Station is a short walk away and has routes to Longbeck, Redcar, Middlesbrough and Darlington with connecting trains to Newcastle, York, Leeds, Manchester and London.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Saltburn. Hop on the Arriva North East route and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Staithes, Runswick Bay and Whitby. The Moorsbus route has drop offs at Newton Under Roseberry, Great Ayton, Stokesley and Helmsley.
