Disliked: Cleanliness
Way more frugal than expected
I just went back and looked at the property pictures and while they are mostly correct the real experience can only be described as less than.
We were underwhelmed. We would both describe the accommodations over the weekend as “bad college apartment”. It was significantly less clean than it appears in the pictures—and granted everyone has their own acceptable level of clean but if this were my property and I was hosting guests I would have been mortified.
The property has a smell. It is in need of deep cleaning along the tops of doors, edges, corners. In need of a painting everywhere. There are nicks and smudges on the walls, holes from old pictures. An actual hole/dent in a bedroom wall.
Everything in the property is like they had an empty apartment and went to Goodwill for all linens, furnishings, and kitchen gear. The linens do not match and feel old and cheap. Everything is just tired and worn. That is the property’s smell—Goodwill store.
And there is a place for the smoke detector to be mounted, but I couldn’t find one in the entire apartment. Nor a carbon monoxide detector.
Yes. The property was close to the convention center—a ten minute walk to Salt palace for us, and it was less expensive than any hotel that weekend but I hadn’t realised that we were in the Motel 6 level. You enter through a very tiny garage that does not lock and has two sets of washing machines/dryers—so the incredibly narrow space for your car is even tighter.
