Alta Club is a unique, old style hotel in downtown Salt Lake. In addition to the comfortable room, we enjoyed dinner and a specialty cocktail in the restaurant/bar.
The Alta Club is my favorite place to stay in Salt Lake City. Real furniture, big rooms, great location, free and easy parking, clean, and TV and Wifi actually work. The mall across State street has everything you could need.I wish there was an Alta club in more cities.
Wonderful staff from the front desk personnel to John in the bar & grill. Beautiful hotel with an interesting history and a lot of ambience. Very quiet too. Can't wait to stay there again.
This was an amazing stay. The room was awesome and the restaurant was FABULOUS! We went down for the free breakfast and it was delicious! Would definitely stay here again.
Generous sized room in a historic structure in the dead center of the Salt Lake City shopping district. The experience was like staying in a family members mansion.
We loved this hotel. It's got so much history, charm and character. It's right downtown in a clean part of town. Our room was very quiet and comfortable. We will definitely stay there again.
I love the ambiance, this vintage hotel and all the history. It's convenient to downtown and all things walkable. Dining was great and the employyes friendly. I didnt like the tiny room we received, i have been here many times before and was always good sized. We could not adjust our own heat, the front desk had to. It also stated there would be breakfast, however it didn't say this doesnt occur on the weekend.
Outstanding property. Such a welcome change from all the plastic hotels out there. Actual oak Craftsman furniture, authentic period lamps in rooms and lobbies, beautiful tile and marble in bathrooms.
Dont stay here. I paid but they had overbooked The alta manager said he would cover another place but he never did and would not return calls. The alta manager wanted me to go stand in the rain for uber while they checked in 3 more people. Such a bad experience
This hotel is very beautiful. It is definitely not a hotel for families.
This hotel is definitely for the business class people. Parking is two lots down from the hotel.
They do have a wonderful breakfast and delicious coffee.
They have a wonderful buffet. That is very reasonable priced.
I would definitely recommend this to someone that is traveling for business. But not for a family.
Fun antique/old style hotel. There are some quirks, like for example you can’t change the temp in the room. You have to call down to that. There is also not a fridge in your room. Walking through the halls and up and down the stairs the floor creeks under your feet (in the room you couldn’t hear anything). If you get past that, the experience and ambiance is super cool. There is this cool sense of history as you walk through the place especially at night when it’s more empty. Also the staff was super friendly. Can’t say enough good things about them.
We enjoyed having a unique room with personality in a unique, historical building. It was fun to explore the library and use the billiards room. Parking was free, which is almost unheard of at a downtown hotel. The onsite grill was reasonably-priced given the "fanciness" of the setting. The food was good though the menu was limited.
The heat was off during our stay (middle of January during a record cold snap in Salt Lake). They called us ahead of time to warn us of this and gave us the chance to cancel. They said that space heaters in the rooms still kept them warm. We decided to brave it and they were right, the space heater worked just fine for our room. The common areas of the building were still a bit chilly but we didn't spend much time there.
Really our only less-than-optimal experience was an uncomfortable mattress that left us with sore backs in the morning.
The reason we chose to stay here was because of the historical vibe. The hotel is beautiful and wel preserved, however the property could use some improvement to bring it modern times. They keys to the rooms are hard to optwn, the knob gets stuck when turning the key. The hotel staf is nice for theost part, avoid Alexa if possible shes rude. Also the issue we had with our room besides thw door is the air conditioning, it terrible. We were in our room & it kept getting hot after trying numerous tries at adjusting the thermostat. When i called down stairs they said they check to see what their screen reads and could see how hot our room was so they offered to switch us rooms. It was a lot nicer. I would not stay here again.
