Welcome to “The Downtowner” - a gorgeous, turn-of-the-century loft located in the heart of downtown Salida! Enjoy the ultimate mountain getaway by escaping to this 1-bedroom, 1-bath condo! With enough space to sleep 4 guests, this 686 square foot abode features hardwood floors, 12' ceilings, exposed brick walls, a gourmet kitchen, and much more. Located on First Street, this loft is the perfect destination to enjoy the best that Salida has to offer! Just outside your door, you will find Historic Downtown Salida. Shop the many clothing boutiques and antique stores, dine in our amazing local restaurants, and take a peaceful stroll along the Arkansas River. Enjoy all that Salida has to offer while staying in this charming downtown loft.

All Pinon homes are "vacation ready" with a fully appointed kitchen, towels and linens. Hand, dish and shower soaps are provided, as well as toilet paper, trash bags, salt and pepper and coffee filters. Bring your own laundry detergent, paper napkins and toiletries.

Reservations may be canceled more than 30 days prior to check-in with full refund minus a $125 Cancellation fee or a $75 Change fee if applicable. No refunds will be issued after this cut-off date for any reason. No refunds will be issued due to weather conditions.**

Great Location
Perfect spot in downtown Salida!! Walk to everything and forget the car. Clean and well maintained unit that was perfect for my wife and I. Could easily accommodate a small family (2 kids) by utilizing the couch in the main room. We hiked and biked right from the front door and Safeway is just around the corner for those wanting to save a penny or two from having to dine out.

Fantastic location in Salida!
My husband and I loved staying here, in the heart of Salida. Very clean and comfortable, and after a day of hiking it was wonderful to just walk out the door to bars and restaurants for dinner, or to go walk along the river. Would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at the Downtowner during the Bluegrass festival this past weekend. The prosperity was clean, easily accessible and had all the amenities we needed. The bed was also very comfortable, a major plus! We loved being able to walk out our door and be within a block or two of a dozen restaurants/shops. We would definitely stay here again.

This property is in the perfect location that is true. We were able to walk all over town and drive to ski. It was a bummer that most shops closed so early (4 or 5pm) even on the weekend. The listing says it's for 4 people, which is really misleading. Two adults and two small children can fit but not 4 adults. My 8 year old daughter's legs hung off the couch and it's not really a pullout bed but sections put together. There were also crumbs in the couch, which was gross. Also, not all of the dishes were clean when taking them out, but I guess that's what happens when you tell your guests to do their own dishes. The biggest issue and why we wouldn't go back is because the hot water ran out sooo fast! After a full day of skiing only one person could take a shower and even then the water would turn cold on them. This made things difficult to say the least. Lastly, I just felt it was tacky to place a tip envelope by the door as the first thing to see upon entering. Am I supposed to tip for a clean place to stay in? Shouldn't that be the standard? Especially, when I am paying a cleaning fee on top of washing towels, running the dishwasher, emptying the trash, and "leaving the place as I left it."

The place was great! Clean and comfortable, and the location is right in the middle of the action. Parking was easy, found a spot right in front of the apartment even in the middle of the busy time. I can definitely recommend!

Came into an amazingly clean and attractive place. Great bed; great shower with good pressure and consistent temperature; excellent kitchen with gas range & coffee maker. Centrally located close to the river and all shops with easy parking. Looking forward to staying here again!

Communication Errors
I’m not sure whether this is a VRBO specific issue or a communication with landlord but we did not received any “check-in” information. So getting into the property was strenuous. Also that night there’s an exterior door to get into the building to reach the property and it was locked!! So we couldn’t get into property that night until 3 in the morning after multiple calls and messages to the vrbo staff and landlords.

Great location
Overall we enjoyed our stay and appreciate the accuracy of the listing on VRBO. As others have noted, the apartment is in an excellent downtown location with an easy walk to everything you could want - coffee shops, restaurants, grocery store, art galleries, and other unique shops. While "downtown" it was very quiet with only some sounds (not noise) from neighbors. We tend to cook while away and the kitchen was adequately enough equipped for limited cooking (a real baking sheet would be nice). We very much appreciated the full size washer and dryer. Our children were on the pull out - not sure this would be adequate for older children or adults as the mattress was thin and it all sloped into the middle. The king in the bedroom was very comfortable. Our concerns: the floor was SO slippery from whatever cleaning product used that we all nearly fell and this was particularly concerning for a fairly recently post-op (ortho surgery) person. Despite the cleaning product the floor was still grimy based on dirty socks or bare feet after noticing the slipperiness. The fans in both the main room and bedroom were absolutely coated in a thick layer of dirt and dust that floated down to the bed/living area when the fan automatically turned on with the lights. Upon noticing this we also noted that the filters needed changing as well. With the floors and fan/filter it was concerning just how much attention to detail was paid to cleaning. Last concern - the tub did not drain and with a normal length shower we ended up more than ankle deep in water. Not sure who we could call to have this non-emergent issue fixed so we just tolerated it for the weekend. Overall a nice place for a short stay - just seems with the management being as directive about requirements for guests that they would be more diligent about upkeep on the apartment.

Perfect Location
My husband and I enjoyed a week in Salida and this was the perfect jumping-off point to all that Salida has to offer! Loved being able to walk everywhere. The unit itself was perfect for the 2 of us - very comfortable and cute! We only cooked dinner in one night and the kitchen had everything we needed. Bed/bedding was very comfortable! One thing we didn’t realize is the this unit is on the back side of the building. So the living room windows look out toward the entrances of a few apartments on the other side of the courtyard below rather than looking out over the Main Street. The upside is that it’s very quiet being off of the main drag. Overall was a fantastic stay in a fun town! Great property, perfect location!
