Great getaway
We had a great time at the property. The stars are amazing and you can enjoy them from the hot tub which we did nightly. 20 min drive up to Monarch and a short drive into Salida. Deer greet you each morning. We would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed the close proximity to town but far enough out to enjoy great mountain views and peaceful moments. The home had everything we needed to enjoy time together as a family and also space to spread out and wind down after some busy days.

A relaxing home away from home for our kids, grand babies, and my husband and myself. Along with a gorgeous view, a quiet and peaceful ambience, we couldn’t ask for any place in the Salida area that would be better. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay!

Fun n the snow
This was a perfect house for our ski vacation at Monarch Mountain. The house was spotless and very comfortable (except for the twin beds). The 360 degree views of the mountains were fantastic as was the hot tub after a long day on the slopes. We will definitely come back!

Family Vacation
The house was very clean and nicely decorated. Plenty of space for us to spread out and a really nice patio off the master, big enough for us to sit and birdwatch, look at stars. The hot tub was nice for the teens, young adults. Close to alot of activities, plenty in the area to keep you busy. Beautiful views!

The property is very neat and clean, and located in proximity to everything that's great about Chaffee County. Salida, Monarch, Mount Princeton, Buena Vista all just minutes away. When we weren't off recreating, we were in this very comfortable home relaxing and resting.

Perfect Home for Ski Trip
This home was perfect for our family for a Monarch Ski trip. It was only 20-30 minutes to the slopes and fit everyone comfortably. The views of the sunrise in the morning over the mountains and looking at the stars from the hot tub were some unexpected highlights of our trip. The kitchen was fully stocked and they even had kids plates and utensils for our little ones. Thank you for a great stay! We would definitely rent this place again in the future!

Great place and amazing views
This property was perfect for what we were looking for. It was the perfect location to explore lots of nearby towns and adventures. Beautiful mountain views in every direction. Some of the inside felt a little odd. As someone who is detail oriented, the paint was sloppy, the decor felt random, and some of the spaces just felt thrown together. For example, many of the rooms you had to step down into and then back up into the bathrooms. One of the bathrooms you nearly fall out of when you open the door from the toilet. The inside could use some fixing up, but overall nice, clean place.

Good and Bad
The property was in a convenient location and beautiful. We are familiar with Salida after living in the area for many years. We came with family for assistance in getting our cabin ready to sell. Although the property is aesthetically nice there are some 'areas' of concern. The most important is the hazard surrounding the fireplace. Four family members tripped over the rock in front of the furnace. My husband tripped and sustained a horrible fall. He is on a blood thinner and fortunately did not hit his head. He has three broken toes and a sprained wrist. Our suggestion is to consider removing this 'hazard' The other small things pale in comparison. Don and Donna Newsom

Hot tub was not operating properly, nor did I see I inspection sheet of we hot tub was regularly serviced, water smelt bad I would not get in, living room has a huge stone sticking halfway out into I think we all tripped over it, no extra linens 1 roll of paper towel very few dishes I was not impressed at all with this place

Summer in Salida
We really enjoyed the house. It was very clean. The location was perfect for what we had planned. We went white water rafting, spent time in downtown Salida, visited Continental Divide and climbed Mt Shavano. It was a nice quiet area, close to downtown Salida and close to the trail head. Great views of the mountains and of the neighbors horses- very peaceful. The hot tub was a nice bonus after all the activities. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect place
This place was perfect for our skiing vacation! Was private with beautiful scenery but only 5 minutes from places to eat or get groceries. We weren’t at the house much but when we were there was plenty of space for games and movies and the hot tub was the main attraction for our group! Will definitely recommend this place to others and will book again for our next skiing adventure.

Perfect Weekend Getaway
We spent the weekend here while skiing at Monarch and will 100% stay here again. It was the perfect location, about 25 minutes to the mountain and easy to get to downtown to eat dinner in the evening. Personally, I don’t think pictures online do the house justice. It’s beautiful!

Monarch Mountain base camp
We stayed here with our adult daughter and her boyfriend while skiing for several days at Monarch Mountain. We wanted a location close enough to the mountain and with enough kitchen amenities that we could prepare and eat lunches there (to save some money and lower our covid risk). Worked out beautifully, with groceries just a few minutes away, as well as take-out food for when we wanted a break from cooking. Particularly appreciated the hot tub, spacious rooms, well-appointed kitchen, nice dining table for card-playing, and reliable wifi. (One note: The master bedroom and living room are a couple steps lower than the rest of the house, which could be problematic for some guests, although it wasn't for us.) If we're skiing at Monarch again, we would definitely return to this property!
