Couple's getaway. Large (70m2) 1 bed in Sainte Foy Station.
A large, beautifully renovated 1 bedroom apartment in an old farmhouse spread over 2 floors. At 70sqm Chalet Susie is as large as some 3 bedroom apartments.
Rates are negotiable for stays of 4+ weeks, especially outside the peak weeks of Xmas, New Year and the school holidays. We can also offer a Friday check-in and Sunday check-out for the price of a standard week during these periods. Contact us for details as it is not always possible to reflect longer term offers.
The property was renovated in a traditional style by local craftsmen using high quality materials and features underfloor heating. The interior is completed with a Nero Victorio antique limestone floor and an extremely comfortable Chesterfield suite.
Whilst the apartment is comfortably large enough to accommodate 4 adults using the Chesterfield sofa bed in the living area we have designed it to primarily appeal to couples or young families who might otherwise find themselves having to rent a two bedroom apartment and compromise on the available living space.
The front door opens to a garden area with beautiful and extensive views of the Tarentaise valley.
Chalet Susie offers great walking, hiking and mountain biking opportunities direct from the front door and is superbly located for exploring the wider Haute Tarentaise and Savoie area with its rich and varied history.
The resort itself shares a 25km border with Italy and several historic fortifications are within an easy drive. These include the Fort de la Platte, Fort du Truc and Fort de la Redoute Ruinee.
There are several nature reserves in the area with the Réserve Naturelle des Hauts de Villaroger being a 15 minute drive away. Please be aware that this area serves as a refuge of the Tetras-Lyre and can only be accessed with an approved guide.
The apartment contains several maps and books detailing local walks for all levels of fitness. The walk to the hamlet of Le Monal is easily achievable whilst the return hike to Lac Noir is likely to take most of the day but is well worth the effort. June is a particularly colourful month as the meadow flowers are in full bloom.
The resort's Grand Plan lift opens for foot passengers and mountain bikers during the Summer holiday period, but outside the peak holiday periods the resort is extremely peaceful.
The Winter season:
Contact us if you are interested in a long term stay.
We operate a Sunday changeover for most of the Winter season. This offers clients the dual benefits of travelling to and from the resort when the roads are quiet (the main changeover day in the wider area is Saturday and traffic can be extremely heavy, especially during the peak weeks) and being able to enjoy a Saturday on the slopes as the final day of their holiday (as most people are either leaving or arriving on a Saturday the slopes are generally very quiet on a Saturday).

Location excellent clear address details provided to help find the property with no issues Lots of local information provided.
Comfortable and spacious for a couple . Quite well equipped however if staying in the summer time a parasol would have been good when sitting in the garden.
A little different on entry to the property to the details provided on the site with regards to lighting in the seating area.
However we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the surrounding area is spectacular so many different walks close by to enjoy.
We would happily stay again.
We are a family of four (2 Adults and 2 children, age 3 & 7) and had a fantastic stay at this beautifully finished property. Although it's a one bedroom property, that bedroom is huge (as is the bed) with stunning views onto the snow capped mountains of the Tarentaise Valley down towards Bourg St Maurice. There was plenty of room for all of our gear which was easily unloaded from the car just outside.
The apartment has everything you need for 4 people and has a really REALLY cosy feel - it's been renovated to a high standard and is very tastefully done (love the illuminated steps). There's a coffee machine, fridge freezer, excellent cooker (induction hob and double oven), dishwasher and reasonable size utility room with a washer dryer.
After booking, I read the reviews and panicked a little for a moment but DON'T let talk on the reviews page of a 'transfer shuttle' put you off - It's just a 5 minute uphill stroll to the Lift, Shops and Bars (I'm not fit and found this no problem & neither did the children) we didn't even bother looking for the shuttle. On the way back at the end of the day, the ski run to Batalliette finishes very close to the front door (maybe a 90 second walk?) although I believe it is possible to ski even closer to the door through the trees.
It really was perfect for our family of four and we would definitely go again.

Liked: Communication
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy

Beautiful chalet in a fantastic location
This is a beautiful, cosy chalet in an ideal location that offers quick and easy access to the slopes and amenities yet is tucked away in a peaceful corner of the resort. The chalet is small but feels spacious, it's very well equipped and everything has been built and furnished to an exceptional standard. We had a wonderful week here and would definitely recommend it for a couple or small family.

Lovely cosy chalet
Family of two adults and two boys aged 10 and 13 stayed over February half term. Chalet Susie was really cosy with an enormous bed and lots of space upstairs. Downstairs is a little more snug, particularly when the sofa bed is pulled out, however there is still plenty of space to store skis, boots, coats etc. Kitchen is fully equipped and the table and chairs are just the right size for a couple or family of 4.

Bon séjour calme et reposant
Literie du canapé du salon moyenne , chaîne TV par satellite en anglais et mauvaise réception wifi de la Livebox Orange au Rez de Chaussée.
Sinon rien a dire : tout était bien

Great getaway for couples
Perfect for couples, but would suit small families and groups of 4 on a budget during the peak weeks when accommodation is at a premium.
It has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable break in the mountains, including seemingly endless hot water, a large bedroom and MASSIVE (and extremely comfortable) bed!
Awesome views from the front door and there's a picnic bench in the garden that would be great in the spring or summer but it was a bit too nippy to use in January! Access to/from the slopes is simple and convenient.
What really sold it for us was the fact that you are staying in the original part of the hamlet/village, in a flat that has all of the modern features, but much more charm than some of the other properties where we have stayed in Sainte-foy.
We will definitely be coming back next winter and will probably use it for a base to explore the mountains in the summer, as it look like there will be plenty to see and do.

Very good duplex appartment
Spacious, tastful decorated ski-in appartment. Shuttle to the slopes runs every 3 minutes, practically from the front door. Excellent service on the spot.

Apartamento bien equipado. Ideal para dos personas. Tranquilo y acogedor. Repetiremos.

Luxurious and perfectly formed
Having stayed in this property over a number of weeks, I can honestly say that a couple or a small family would want for nothing in this beautifully appointed chalet. With the sofa bed in the living room, it was an ideal space for 4 people over a busy week of skiing, and the with the worlds biggest bed upstairs you could almost forget that anyone else is with you!
At every turn there is a little touch which makes Susie a home from home; we particularly appreciated the washer dryer which eradicated the usual dramas surrounding wet ski gear! The dishwasher was also a welcome addition, and with seemingly endless hot water from the shower there was plenty to go around everyone.
Having stayed in many chalets around Sainte Foy, I have to say that if you are looking to stay self-catered but want the luxury of a catered Chalet, this is the perfect place for any couple or small family.

Nice apartment in Sainte Foy Station
Very pleasant stay for a week in Sainte Foy apartment. Good communications when booking and apartment is well equipped and very comfortable. Sainte Foy is very quiet, almost empty at this time of year but it was great for a peaceful week.

Wonderfully Snug
Chalet Susie was a delight to stay in. Ski-in access to under 100m by piste and <25m gnarly off-piste. The navette to the first chair lift was too easy and just always there, virtually no waiting time at all. The kitchen is well appointed with more than enough space to prepare hefty meals. The furnishings are excellent and very comfortable after a hard days riding with the downstairs sofa bed providing a great nights sleep (I'm not small) - no piste bashers beeping throughout the night here! A little limited privacy for those on the sofa bed, but really not much of a concern. First time in Sainte Foy for me and the resort has something for all, a couple of gentle blues through to some extreme off-piste. Hugely recommended all round and I will definitely be back.

Lovely week
This is a great compact smart-looking newly-renovated apartment, right by the slopes. Most perfect for a couple (unless you're REALLY tall - it's in an old converted farmhouse) but you could fit in some kids if you had too! You're in the more picturesque bit of Sainte Foy station, there is a little bus that takes you to the chair lift in 30 second (or you could walk it in 5 mins max) and you have all the superb design (see pics) and necessary home comforts (wifi, huge bed, walk in shower, dual sinks etc) in the apartment. There is a very smart restaurant just over the road, other restaurants and bars (and a bakers/supermarket) within 5 mins walk and one of the ski runs ends pretty much behind the house. We've stayed here on our own and we've stayed with friends in the bigger apartment the owners have which is above Chalet Susie and both are great places. We're fairly new to ski-ing but already making use of the red runs whilst our friends (better skiers) found plenty to do going off piste in the resort. And both times we've stayed (Jan and March) the resort has seemed much more chilled and relaxed than others nearby such as Tignes or Val.....we've hardly ever queued for a chair lift, certainly for no more than a minute or two, and on some occasions we seem to have been the only people on the slope! There is also a really good ski-school in the village which is great for private lessons, and a few mountain side / ski-in/out places for where you can stop for lunch.
