"What an unexpected treasure Château de La Ballue. I had booked this stay while touring the Normandy beach landings for just one night. What a shame we were only there for such a brief time. The home is charming and beautiful. The room was perfection and the grounds were such a surprise. I had no idea they were world class manicured gardens complete with a labyrinth! "Arrived at farm to find the bedroom very old, cold and very dated, a minute kitchen with minute facilities with the minute fridge already fully stocked by the next rooms tenants and we weren’t prepared to share a 2 ring stove. The bathroom only had a hand held shower head hanging off the wall over the bath. It was only £42 per night but it was not even worth a second look to be honest."

They didn't provide toilet paper or dish soap and had to go to the store to buy some. Would have been nice to know there was no toilet paper before going to the bathroom."
