Kleines Paradies im Hinterland von Utah Beach
In den zwei Wochen unseres Aufenthaltes haben wir uns wirklich wohlgefühlt. Die junge Familie direkt im Hauptgebäude ist freundlich und hilfsbereit, dennoch hatten wir das Gefühl für uns zu sein. Das Auto kann direkt am Haus geparkt werden. Die Einrichtung des alten Hauses ist eine kunterbunte Mischung aus verschiedenen Tapeten, bemalten Wänden, selbst gestalteten Möbeln, unterschiedlichen Couchgarnituren oder Bildern an den Wänden. Wer sich daran nicht stört fühlt sich in der einfachen Ausstattung wohl. Wir haben die Ruhe und die Natur sehr genossen. Für unsere Katze war es ein kleines Paradies mit Fröschen, Enten, Sumpfhühnern im Teich und Kühen auf den angrenzenden Feldern. Der Teich lädt zu kleinen Ruderausflügen ein. Etwas nervig waren die Fliegen, aber mit ein paar aufgehängten Fliegenfängern ging es besser. Das WLAN reicht von der oberen Etage nicht bis ins Wohnzimmer, daher hatten wir einen eigenen Repeater dabei, somit hatten wir auch auf der überdachten Terrasse oder der hinteren Terrasse bei der Küche ordentlichen Internetzugang. Überhaupt ist es angenehm auf beiden Seiten des Hauses eine Terrasse zu haben. Eine Schere oder Kuchengabeln haben wir nicht gefunden, aber ansonsten war bis zum Austernmesser oder dem großen Topf für Muscheln alles vorhanden. Das Kochen mit Gas hatte für uns nur Vorteile. Ungewohnt ist es, dass die Fenster keine Kippfunktion besitzen. Für uns war es der perfekte Ort, um den Cotentin in alle vier Himmelsrichtungen zu erkunden.
