Perfect holiday destination, would highly recommend!
We had a wonderful 2 weeks at this property in La Cotiniere! The house is situated remarkably close to the beach and just a short stroll into the village for fresh croissants and baguettes every morning. The pool was wonderful, and provided daily entertainment with inflatables provided and a nice warm temperature of 27-28c water. The house was magnificent, probably the cleanest holiday house we have ever rented. All the equipment is top spec - a lot of money has been spent on the house! You have to knock on the dishwasher to open it! The extractor fan is like Tracy Island and the oven cleans itself, we had a great time exploring even the house!
There are 4 double bedrooms, one of which is an annex but only a few metres from the main house just by the pool, all bedrooms en-suite - just 1 bath in the biggest bedroom’s en-suite. The showers in the other en-suites were lovely and plenty of hot water to go round. You have to pay extra for bedding but it wasn’t too much and was worth it.
There is room for 2 large cars in the secure driveway (we had 2 x Citroen C4 Picassos), with a Key fob operated gateway into the drive which leads onto the pool area and access to the house and annex. Lots of sun loungers and plenty of chairs inside and out, with an outdoor and an indoor dinning table that could comfortably sit 9 adults and 2 babies. There is a high chair and a travel cot at the house too, which was handy for us. We were impressed with the number of plates, bowls, cups, glasses Cutlery etc plus they were very good quality.
I would let you know that a €2,500 damage deposit required. We paid this via cheque in £ on arrival and that was fine. The lady who checks you in and out (Nathalie, who is very nice) handed the cheque back at the end - we had owned up to 3 broken glasses and paid for those in cash.
The village has a food market every morning from around 8am, with beautiful fresh fruit and veg as well as cheese, oysters and some clothes. There are lots of lovely restaurants but would recommend ‘Le Cap’s’ which is 800 meters away away from the village (north) - with a Cafe Gourmand not to be missed! Also recommend Quai 17 in Saint Dennis, need to book as it’s really popular and with amazing mussels. All the places on the island are well kept and very picturesque - we were so impressed and hope to go back!
