Cozy Holiday Home in Saint-Léon-sur

What calm and what a painting this house has been around for about 300 years! The owners really did their best to keep the old style during the renovation. The result ? A pretty holiday home in the Périgord style.
The furnishings are very neat and the atmosphere is pleasant. The garden part, with a few sun loungers, is largely bordered by a row of conifers, and features a splendid rose garden. It is good to rest around the swimming pool!
Your neighbors will be the friendly owners (no vis-à-vis, use the swimming pool from time to time when you are not there) and will be happy to give you some advice on the surroundings.

The large terrace in front of your accommodation will allow you to spend pleasant evenings (barbecue). In the afternoon, you can enjoy the shade offered by the large lime tree and the view of the hills. In front of your garden is a large lawn with games for children, which is also perfect for a game of football. A table tennis table is also available.

Your house is near St. Léon-sur-Vézère (700 m), a village which is officially one of the "most beautiful villages in France". You will find a few restaurants there and can also go there for your daily groceries and fresh bread. The forest is 200m from the holiday home.

This is a nice Gite in a wonderful location only a short walk from st Leon sur vezere . The property is well maintained and has everything you need however we found it lacked privacy as it is open to the road on one side and directly onto the owners property on the other.

Traditional Gîte offering all amenities ( dishwasher, laundry machine, microwave, wiFi, TV, Shower, bathtub etc, nice swimming pool). We had Ratsherr cold weather, and we would have appreciated some possibilty to heat the main room. The Hosts are very friendly

Belle maison bien située mais manque d’intimité
La maison est belle (ancienne bâtisse typique de la région) avec une superbe vue sur un beau paysage périgourdin. L’emplacement à Saint Léon est vraiment idéal pour rayonner et découvrir la région qui regorge d’activités en tous genres. Enfin, Alain et Carole sont des hôtes adorables et attentifs et nous ont réservé un très bon accueil. Seuls bémols : - L’intérieur de la maison est un peu sombre et nous avons été incommodés par une odeur persistante - la maison manque d’intimité : elle est attenante à la résidence principale des hôtes, et la piscine est partagée avec eux. Même si les hôtes savent se faire discrets, ça n’était pas ce que nous avions imaginé en réservant.

Nice and clean villa and well equipped. Location is as described. Only issues are that the pool is shared and guest hours are 10am - 7pm which is not mentioned in the description. In addition, there is no aircon or fans for the bedrooms and it can get very hot. However, owners are very welcoming and on site if any help is required.

June under the linden tree
Just as described, peaceful, accessible, restful. Plenty to see and do in the area, especially for paleolithic interests. We had great fun listening to the birds in the nearby woods. Especially, our hosts were as helpful and friendly as it is possiblevto be.

Großzügiges, schönes Steinhaus mit allem was man braucht: gut ausgestattete Küche, hervorragende Betten, 2 Bäder...Für uns wichtig: 4 tolle Außenbereiche mit schönem, weitem Ausblick: große Terrasse mit Esstisch und Loungemöbeln, wunderschöne, schattenspendende Linde, und natürlich der saubere, einladende Pool. Die Vermieter wohnen nebenan und sind sehr diskret, nett und großzügig, der Kühlschrank war wohlgefüllt und Begrüßung und Kommunikation ließen keine Wünsche offen...danke, Carole und Alain, wir kommen gerne wieder! Auch noch praktisch: das Haus liegt fußläufig zum Ort St. Léon

Schöne Unterkunft. Zentrale Lage im Perigord Noir.
Nette Begrüßung durch die freundlichen Vermieter Carole und Alain. Für die erste Verpflegung waren schon Kuchen, Eier, Brot, Butter, Wasser, Milch, Saft und Wein bereitgestellt. Wir haben uns in der Zeit unseres Aufenthaltes wohl gefühlt und vor allem die Terrasse und den Pool sehr genossen. Das Haus liegt sehr zentral für Ausflüge, Wanderungen und Besichtigungen im Perigord Noir.

Net terug van onze tweede keer vakantie op deze fantastische plek en dat is geen toeval. Voor ons en onze 4 kinderen was het een totaal ervaring. Wij kunnen ons niet vinden in recente andere (en nogal zure) recensies, behalve de opmerking over het bed, dat mag wel vervangen worden. Het is een romantische boerderijtje en geen ultramoderne luxe villa. Het heeft alles wat je nodig hebt voor een relaxte vakantie op een werkelijk fantastische plek. Alle praktische zaken zijn aanwezig, het zwembad is heerlijk en de tuin en het uitzicht prachtig. Het dorp is pittoresk en bied vele mogelijkheden om lekker te eten. Tip: maak een helikoptervlucht door het vezere-dal. Carole en Alain regelen het graag voor je. Heel vriendelijke mensen die altijd voor je klaarstaan.

Ontvangst goed door eigenaren. Accomodatie verdient modernisering (matras bed begane grond is aan vervanging toe, er zit een kuil in en de badkamer eerste verdieping heeft een oude douche en op de begane grond alleen een bad).daarnaast is de privacy bij het zwembad onvoldoende, de schutting is niet volledig dicht en ook open aan1 kant waardoor de eigenaren die erachter wonen volledig in het zwembad kunnen kijken. Er was wat discussie over springen in het zwembad door de kinderen in verband met waterverlies. Dat vonden we een beetje kinderachtig omdat kinderen nou eenmaal spetteren en je dus het zwembad met water moet aanvullen.

Perfecte vakantie gehad eind juni met onze 3 dochtertjes. Saint-Leon is een heel mooi klein dorpje aan de Vézère waar je lekker kunt eten en kleine boodschapjes kunt doen. We waren er meteen nadat de grenzen weer open waren na de lockdown, het was nog rustig maar we hadden de indruk dat het een behoorlijk toeristisch dorpje is. Het leuke aan het huis is dat het buiten/boven het dorp is, op de helling. Van toerisme zul je dus geen last hebben, maar je kunt het als je er zin in hebt wel opzoeken (10 minuten lopen). Het huis en de plek zijn prachtig en werkelijk alles is aanwezig: van een zwembad en trampoline tot aan een staafmixer, badzitje en paraplus’s. Het is allemaal aanwezig. We hadden zelf veel te veel spullen meegenomen, totaal onnodig. Veel kleren mee is ook niet nodig want er is een wasmachine. Voor ons persoonlijk ook een groot pluspunt was de aanwezigheid van een waterontharder; die hebben we thuis ook (we zijn dus verwend) en meestal is de douche/het bad een minpunt in de vakantie. Hier niet. Carole en Alain zijn heel vriendelijke mensen die altijd ter beschikking staan maar nooit hinderlijk aanwezig zijn. Ze genieten er van om hun gasten te zien genieten van hun vakantie. Tijdens ons verblijf begaf de vaatwasser het, binnen 2 uren stond er een gloednieuwe. Voor de kids was het zwembad natuurlijk het hoogtepunt. Ze hebben er uren gespeeld en gezwommen. Het bad is ruim en schoon en de waterkwaliteit wordt goed in de gaten gehouden. De omgeving is prachtig. Je kunt er mooi wandelen en fietsen en er zijn veel dingen te doen (wij hebben niet veel uitstapjes gemaakt omdat het huis en de tuin voldoende biedt). Het boomklimpark ‘le conquil’ is een echte aanrader en er zijn verschillende grotten en kastelen in de omgeving. Al met al een perfecte vakantie!

We werden vanaf een afstandje al vriendelijk opgewacht/verwacht. Er stonden wat lekkernijen klaar met wat eerste levensmiddelen en tomaten uit de tuin. De gastheer en - vrouw waren niet te close, gaven ons veel ruimte, en niet te afstandelijk waardoor we wel dingen durfden te vragen. Zij hebben ons vriendelijk geholpen. De omgeving heeft genoeg te bieden voor uitstapjes met het gezin maar de tuin en het huis zijn ook fijn om te vertoeven.

Wij zijn zeer hartelijk ontvangen door Carole en Alain (de eigenaren). Bij aankomst liggen er al wat kleine boodschappen in de koelkast ( eieren, yoghurt, melk, jam en brood) Ook werden wij tijdens ons verblijf voorzien van vers fruit en tomaten uit eigen moestuin. Prachtig huis, in een mooie omgeving. Huis is van alle gemakken voorzien. (vaatwasser, wasmachine, oven). En het zwembad is top. Het dorpje St. Leon Sur Vezere is op 10 minuten loopafstand, waar je 's morgens brood kunt halen. En bij Auberge du Pont kun je heerlijke pizza' s eten. In de omgeving is veel te doen. Kanoën, mountainbiken. Maar ook veel bezienswaardigheden, zoals Sarlat la Caneda, diverse kastelen en grotten.

The house, swimming pool and garden are wonderful and the location is fantastic. The house looked just as it did from the pictures and Alain and Carole were very welcoming when we first arrived. The location was the perfect balance of being rural and peaceful but only 10 minute walk into the village of St Leon which is such a beautiful place with several great restaurants and a wonderful area of river for swimming.

We werden zeer gastvrij ontvangen door dhr. en mevr. Dupont. De communicatie was goed mogelijk middels ons middelbare school Frans, maar de eigenaars spreken geen Engels. De accomodatie is erg fraai gelegen en biedt alles wat nodig is voor een comfortabel verblijf. De omgeving biedt veel interessante zaken. Mooie natuur, leuke stadjes op relatief kleine afstand en een prachtig dorpje met restaurants en wat winkels op loopafstand (10-15 min).

Maison de charme très bien équipée (de la lave-vaisselle au ping-pong, jeux pour les enfants dans le jardin, piscine, sac à dos, parapluie, barbecue, tout est là!). La maison est au calme à 10 minutes de marche du très joli village de Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère. Un parc pour enfants avec accrobranche et un base canoë sont aussi à 10 de marche d la maison Carol et Alain sont très accueillant, avec plein d'attentions (pain, lait, confiture maison, etc disponibles à notre arrivée) Super séjour!
