"Lovely modern gite in the heart of Ardeche and equiped to a high standard. The driveway is a bit steep for a low profile car, mine ended up with scrapes under the bumpers but with care it was possible to monoeuvre. In truth the only real downer was the pool which is the largest I've ever seen for the sole use of a single gite but was simply too cold. I was assured the pool was heated but you couldn't tell, such a shame."

"We loved the gite, it was clean, everything was well catered for and it had a great setting. Michel and Martine were great hosts and left us to enjoy our holiday but were around if we needed them. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday and would recommend to friends to stay there and we would gladly go back. The rugby matches we saw in St Etienne were great, fantastic atmosphere and great to watch with people from so many different countries attending."

"Le gîte est à 6 km du village et du commerce le plus proche. En ce qui concerne les équipements, le four dysfonctionnait et l’éclairage général du gîte est insuffisant. L’installation mériterait une remise à jour. La pièce à vivre est chaleureuse, spacieuse et les baies vitrées sympas. Les chambres sont spacieuses. Sdb correctes, sans plus. Pas profité de la terrasse dont le mobilier est vétuste. Nous avons loué souvent des gîtes dont les propriétaires soignaient l’accueil avec un pot de...

"Formidable weekend entre amis dans un cadre superbe. Les équipements et les literies sont top, la grande pièce est parfaite pour se retrouver nombreux autour de la table et pour faire la fête. Piscine, ping-pong, pétanque à disposition. On reviendra !"

Night-time and early morning temperatures were low due to the altitude, but it soon warmed up and by lunchtime it was quite hot. Le Chambon-sur-Lignon is quite small, but it has all the shops you might need during your stay (bakers, supermarkets, ice-cream parlours, pharmacy, etc.).
