"The hotel is inside the walled city, right next to the basilica. As no car is allowed to drive to the castle, the hotel offers a free shuttle to pick/drop you to the parking lot where you get in/off the taxi. "We had an excellent 1 night stay at Sowell Le Chevaliers. The staff was very patient during our check in. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Carcassonne. "This hotel is nicely sited within view of many local stores so it very convenient. The Argentine girl on the reception was a delight to speak to regarding the unusual hobby of me and my co-guest. Best of all is staying during April as the rooms cost next to nothing as the ski season is over. "The apartments are nice but the hotel is located at the junction of two mountain rivers which are very noisy. The internet said that the hotel had 24hr reception but it is only open for limited hours and closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Matt the host was always available if both pre during and post our stay for any questions issue concerns we had. We were not disappointed with this property this is massive an as family of 7 we never felt we were on top of each other.
