Stunning property in beautiful serene surroundings - perfection. Missing it already!
As soon as I saw the images of the property I was sold - it really is as lovely as it looks. We hadn’t been abroad since 2019 so wanted it to be really special and the Dordogne.is our most magical of places This beautiful, authentically restored property with every attention to detail fit the bill perfectly. We live in a historic building in rural Cornwall in a tiny quiet hamlet and this home is even more peaceful than ours yet close enough to all that the Dordogne has to offer and with the most peaceful walks for miles amongst the walnut groves right outside your front door.
We spent a lot of time in nearby Montignac which is
very pretty and Sarlat (equally close) - a stunning larger town, full of atmospheric restaurants, cobbled streets and architectural wonders and of course its famous markets.
The garden and pool area offer many havens to relax and eat in sun or shade and are totally safe for a mischievous young dog. The pool is a lovely warm temperature and spotlessly clean but don’t miss out on a swim in the Dordogne river (the cleanest in France) that offers breathtaking views and the Vezere river very close by is a real haven for wildlife with shady riverside dog walks. We were blessed with incredible weather and our only complaint was the time went too fast.
The owner was very accommodating to my booking error and Florence is charming, a real gem always available if you need her and Patrick the kindest neighbour giving us fresh produce from his garden.
