"A quiet stay in an old farm. Rooms nicely renovated. When we arrived at the time we had already advised, no one was there and we could not check in. Tried phone and text but no one answered. After about half an hour the manager arrived. Everything was fine after that but it caused us a bit of stress when we first arrived, especially as we don't speak French."

I had to be in the area for work and there aren't a lot of hotel options in the area, so I feel like I lucked out with this one. "Booked in advance for this stay during a visit to watch the Olympics. Arrived at the hotel 6pm on a Saturday evening, the opening weekend of Olympics. We had been travelling for over 16 hours with some travel delays. Greeted by host eventually who appeared from behind a tall secure closed gate to be told there were no rooms.
