"Amazing cliff top sea views gorgeous empty beach. Quirky accommodation with all you need for a short stay. Host was a very friendly and helpful guy. We went by train but a car would be beneficial as although not far from the village it's a little remote with unlit dirt tracks probably ok in summer but not recommended coming home from the village pub in the dark. The beach was down a step path but was amazing vast and empty. Wouldn't recommend if you have mobility problems the space in the property is limited an is mainly gravel and dirt roads and a few small steps to the accommodation overall we enjoyed our short stay "

"We had amazing weather for January which made the river walk to Crathes Castle really a treat. All the food was very good and hot. Real fire made it homely. Pet friendly. Outdoor seating gave easy access the to great river side and views. "

"A great pub stopover. Stayed here for one night whilst working in the area. Nothing at all to complain about. Staff were really friendly and made you feel welcome. Food was good, Both evening meal and breakfast. At the time of my visit the accommodation was being redecorated which gave the place a more modern feel. I wouldn't have a problem stopping here again."

"Absolutely loved this quirky castle. The owners was so friendly and welcoming. Very knowledgeable about the castles history and did a personal tour which I loved. His love for the property showed so much in this tour. Breakfast was delicious and left nothing to ask for. Would stay here again. No complaints. "

"It was a beautiful space, with a lot of extra touches-they left lights on and heating do when we checked in it was warm and welcoming. They had everything you could think of and a nice sized kitchen. We thought it might be noisy but the accommodation is actually over the road from the pub and has stunning views! Lots of local beautiful walks. Food was amazing in the anchor hotel-we had a family meal of 15 and the service was amazing and the meal was one of the best I’ve had! "

"The house and location are amazing. Alison was great at getting back to us when we had questions. The beach is amazing and more often than not you have it all to yourself. Great for star gazing and we were fortunate enough to see the northern lights during are stay. WeeCOOK pies are definitely worth a visit and Angus Alchemy"
