Nice Lake House
We had everything we needed for a great relaxing stay at this lake house. Beautiful setting with an abundance of birds in the area. There were only a couple of drawbacks: The hosts asked that all accumulated trash be driven over to Garfield Bay. Also, the house is advertised as sleeping 7, but there is an "extra person charge" of $25 per person per night for any people over 2 guests. We had four people there and were charged an extra $250 for five nights.

Amazing place to stay
We booked the cabin for a fishing trip, great set up, John had us all set up, with directions, info & even a contact to Moore our boat. Cabin is fantastic, woodstove to take the chill off after a long day on the lake. Super clean & everything you need is here to have a good time.

Wonderful Location on Camp Bay! We'll Be Back!!!
We have stayed at multiple properties on Lake Pend Oreille over the years, but this location on the lake was our favorite! Quiet, peaceful, very little boat traffic. House is great - updated, multiple A/C units for comfort, well appointed, tons of DVD's to watch at night, pool table and more towels than you could ever use! Outside the deck tables and chairs are great, the dock is perfect for relaxing and swimming and there is even a boat lift (very important on this lake if you keep a boat in the water overnight!!!). Also, for those familiar with the area but haven't been in a couple of years, Camp Bay Rd. has been paved all the way to the lake! Things to keep in mind for your visit - Lots of stairs to the water but you get accustomed to them quickly (bring coolers to pack down to the dock, leave them, refill with ice and items as needed on trips to and from the house); there is only a charcoal grill (no gas grill), and you need to bring your own briquettes (stop at the Dollar General at the corner of HWY 95 and Sagle Rd.); the house water is on a pump and will stop briefly on occasion (10-15 seconds), so don't panic, it always comes back on!; You have to pack out your own trash to the local refuse station (opens at 8:00 AM) about 10 minutes from the house - there is a pass on the welcome table, remember to bring it with you to dump for free, but you do have to return the pass to the house, so you can't dump your trash on your way out, you'll need to make an extra trip.

This place is very special. It is so peaceful and the view is spectacular. The house was immaculately clean and supplied with everything you could need. We loved hanging by the fire pit with plenty of wood to keep a warm fire going. A very cool place !!

Perfect Get Away
My family had such a wonderful time. The cabin is really welcoming and comfortable and the Kearns family is very inviting. It was such a nice surprise to see all of the yummy goodies that were left for us by the Kearns family. My kids were in the lake from morning until evening and they had the best time ever. We had a wonderful time and the house is absolutely perfect
We stayed for 5 days at this lovely house directly on the lake, and it has become our new absolute favorite! . Every detail was taken into account by the owners from kitchen essentials and lots of soft fluffy towels to tons of games and movies as well as use of their 3 kayaks. Our stay was so relaxing and the house and views were amazing! We hope to return next year. Thank you so much for sharing your special place with us.

July 2024 Stay
We stayed here for 6 nights in July-August 2024. We had great communication with the hosts and all of our questions were addressed. The cabin is a 30 minute drive from Sandpoint. Parking was limited to 1 or 2 vehicles as the cabin backs onto a steep hill. The cabin was well stocked with a gorgeous view. The beds were comfortable with nice linens and towels. The cabin could use more plates, a new toaster, and new pots and pans. The cabin was quite clean other than being somewhat dusty under furniture, on the blinds, and on the window sills. The flow of water from the taps/shower heads occasionally slowed/stopped but would usually start flowing again after a minute or so. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and had a lot of fun kayaking, playing pool, watching movies, and playing cards on the deck with our teenagers. We did not have a fire in the fire pit as the conditions were dry. There was a small old briquette grill but briquettes are not supplied. We were required to take the garbage to a transfer station that was a 10-15minute drive away. The portable air conditioning units in the two upper bedrooms were wonderful to cool off the upper level on the very hot days. Overall we enjoyed our vacation at this quiet and private cabin.

My wife and I truly enjoyed this nicely appointed house with three large decks. We kayaked on the lake and hiked straight from the front door. There is an extensive selection of DVD movies to watch in the evening and the Keurig coffee maker with a big variety of coffee pods was another nice surprise. Beautiful place
Beautiful house, amazing views. We had a wonderful time. House is right on the water and the neighborhood is fully if wildlife. We saw lots of deer, turkey, bald eagles and a couple moose. The lake is super clean and all around the area are great water resources. Silverwood is about 50 minutes away, groceries about 45mins to Sandpoint. Many good shopping and dining places in Sandpoint. The house was well stocked for our needs and John even provided pastries and wine to start off the vacation. What a wonderful stay :)

Great June vacation
Great location and view. Brought our boat and enjoyed the awesome lake. Fished and saw the sights and visited the Floating Restaurant in Hope. Surprisingly we found ourselves watching clouds and sunsets. Not sure that I realize we’ve not taken the time to slow down and relax. Large dvd/blue ray collection was nice to use. Used the kitchen extensively and felt it was just about right. Seems like a place we could return to yearly.

The house was perfectly appointed. Everyone in our party was very comfortable. John and Mel welcomed us and made us feel 110% at home. The property overlooks lake Pend Oreille, and the view was absolutely stunning. We caught several nice fish off the dock, and there are alot of deer near the bay that you'll see in mornings and evenings. We would count 20-30 most nights driving back home from dinner. Would absolutely stay here again, and would recommend to my friends and family. Thanks John and Mel for a wonderful trip!

Beautiful lake cabin
The property is just beautiful. It's right above the lake and includes a dock with a boat lift and kayaks. It is decorated well, and has everything you could possibly want. We saw dear, wild turkey, geese, Elk, and even bald eagles. It really is a breathtaking view. The owners were very friendly and even brought us baked goods and other treats throughout the week. There was a step that broke and John came right away to fix it. This is the only time I have rented a VRBO where the owners were present. Check in was in person and included signing contracts in person. The rules are clear and there is an expectation of compliance. We will definitely be back. This was a great experience.

Great location away from the commercialized parts of the lake. Was surprised there was no potable water. Had to use bottled water for drinking, coffee, brushing teeth. Water system was lake water with UV filter. Water smelled like lake water. Toilets, faucets had lots of air and very loud hammering at times. Lots of discoloration in water. Grandson has a medical issue that requires potable water for bathing and cleaning medical tubing which made our stay problematic. Very nice location but the water issue should have been disclosed in the listing. Would not stay again. Also had some exposed wiring down low that could be an issue for toddlers. We made the best of our stay but will not return nor would we recommend. No potable water should be disclosed up front. We would not have rented had we known that.

Beautiful views!
The property owner met us at the property, provided us with keys, gave a quick walk through of the property and amenities, and left freshly made huckleberry pastries, which was very nice. The property was very clean, plenty of towels and a variety of coffee pods for the keurig. However, we brought our own coffee and there was a standard coffee maker. The property is a ways out of Sagle, but a beautiful drive with lots of deer and turkeys. Very nice boat dock and manual lift. Use the lift, even though it's manual, we left our boat out overnight and ended up with some dock scuff, because even though very little wind, there were some big rollers coming into the bay in the mornings. Boat trailer parking is a bit of a challenge as the road coming in is narrow and limited parking, as with most lakefront properties. Luckily we have friends in Sagle to leave the trailer, it was just easier. Overall, very nice two story home with plenty of room, great decks and great views, which is what we were looking for. Didn't mind the steep stairs to lake, since we don't get much exercise on vacation, this helped make up some of the difference. Hope and Beyond Hope is across the bay with two fabulous restaurants we enjoyed boating over to for dinner and/or lunch, same with Sandpoint, where there is a nice marina in the heart of town.

Beautiful View...Quiet and Relaxing
My family (4 adults & 2 children) recently spent six nights at this beautiful home right on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille. The views are stunning from any of the three decks!! Wonderful things we enjoyed: 1. This house has everything. Just bring your food! 2. We loved the dock, the kayaks & refreshing lake water. My grandson and I caught 2 trout right off the dock one evening. 3. The Wifi was excellent along with the dozens and dozens of DVD movies. 4. With two levels --there was plenty of room to move around and yet find a quiet place if we needed it. The beds had nice quality sheets and blankets. Bottom level has a walk-out deck, TV room, game table (which we loved) with all kinds of fun board games, pool table and the cutest little bar with microwave and small fridge! Also, a washer and dryer. 4. Cleanliness was a 5-star as was communication with the owners. We were greeted with fresh huckleberry pastries. Thanks Melody -- it's these small touches that make a vacation rental awesome! 5. So quiet here as it's on a bay with dead-end road fand few houses. However, in a year or two---- there will be more houses as they are selling lots right now. Not So Positive: 1. The listing said "air conditioning." We have spent a many summer weeks throughout the years in a cabin that had no air so I was looking so forward to a/c. However, the a/c can only be found in the 2 main level bedrooms. Not enough to keep the whole house cool. I slept in the non a/c bedroom and it was hot at night as I couldn't open the window the first two nights because of the smoke. After that, it was okay when the smoke cleared. 2. The listing also said that check-out was 11am. The contract that I signed when I got there stated 10am. 3. I have never experienced VRBO neighbors that was so unkind. I know the owners have no control over this! I have never had a complaint against my family until now. Apparently, playing games INSIDE at midnight -- we were too loud as texted to the owner. Also, a complaint that the music coming from the dock was loud. (We couldn't even hear the music up at the house.) The same neighbor's hubby used the F-word several times when my husband kindly asked to turn away in his driveway. It was very sad to experience. But, these "neighbors" would certainly NOT deter us from going back! We had an AWESOME memorable time! Thank you again John and Melody!
