"We were driving from the UK to the south west of France and wanted somewhere to stay en route. What a wonderful surprise this place was. The house is a big, beautiful, old (really old!) property with very generous rooms and lovely ensuite bathrooms. The hosts are very welcoming and generous. Saintes - who knows why that big town is not more widely known as a tourist destination. Incredible architecture, lovely river walks, greta places to eat. And the best bit - we have 2 large excitable dogs...

"De passage à Saintes, nous avons passé une nuit sur place. Très calme pour bien dormir. Très bon accueil à l’arrivée. Le petit déjeuner dans le jardin le matin c’est au top, notre hôte a été aux petits soins, c’était très agréable. Nous n’hésiterons pas à reprendre une nuit à l’occasion."

"The gentleman of the house could not be more gracious. His English is superb ( my French is nonexistent ) so he was able to help me make plans for all my area touring. Located about .5 hour from towns,beachs, parks.... There is onsite parking. The property was completely renovated 2016 and I mean everything. King room is spacious by any standard with a beautifully appointed bathroom and separate dressing room.Outdoor space has options for shade, sun, lounge. Picnic pack, spa, sauna, and dinner...

Un petit reproche toutefois; un léger bruit provenant d'un appareil électrique perturbe un peu votre nuit. Mais on s'y fait. Sinon, rien à redire. Cette chambre est excellente"

"The owner and his wife were very kind and attentive. We arrived late and the husband (and their very friendly dog) was there to meet us. Mais par contre l'annonce avec les 500 metres pour aller a la plage n'est pas correcte il y a un peu plus quand même du coup un peu difficile lorsque vous avez des tout petits comme nous... La literie est a revoir. Belle piscine que nous n'avons pas pu utiliser a cause du temps"
