❄️ Winter Expectations ❄️
Some summer amenities, such as grills, outdoor furniture, and some outdoor spaces, may be limited/unavailable/not accessible during the winter, especially after the first snow.
⚠️ Safety Monitoring ⚠️
Note: We do have Ring cameras set up on the exterior of the home, pointed at public areas. We also have Minut noise monitoring devices that do not record audio, but do monitor noise levels and send automated alerts to guests when noise it too high to address high noise before it becomes an issue with the neighbors. These devices are not actively monitored by any of your hosts (and never reviewed for the vast majority of guests). They are primarily in place:
1. To protect against false accusations of high noise.
2. To help provide guests with feedback of potentially high noise so we are able to avoid any issues from the neighbors or code enforcement.
3. For liability purposes in case of any accidents during the stay.
4. For homeowner's home monitoring needs outside of guest stays (package arrivals, trespassing, etc).
⚠️ Quiet Hours and Noise ⚠️
Quiet hours are between 10pm and 8am. At that time, we will ask that you do your best not to wake the neighbors. This is especially important if your group is outside between these hours. 10pm is also the soft limit for Hot Tub usage. Per San Bernardino County noise regulations, the use of amplified music is not permitted at any time outside of the property, and if there is any music playing inside, doors and windows should be closed.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding the county noise rules that via the "Contact Host" button. I will be happy to address any of them, as these are not meant to be overbearing or hinder the experience.
Additional Rules:
Parties are not allowed
No undisclosed guests: Disclose guest count with host beforehand to resolve any concerns regarding your intended use and guest count. A $100* violation fee will be charged for each undisclosed guest per day, regardless of duration of presence on property.
San Bernardino County Noise Restrictions:
As a short term rental in San Bernardino County, we are obligated to follow the county noise restrictions and ordinances and subject to consequences if those rules are violated. We do live in a quiet mountain community with full-time neighbors on both sides of the property that are mindful of excessive noise. As the person responsible for maintaining a code-compliant listing, I have to take particular care of enforcing the following county rules for all guests.
Per San Bernardino County guidance, the use of amplified music (speakers) is not permitted outdoors at any time. If any music is playing inside, guests should close any open windows and doors so that the noise does not escape outside. Also, per county regulations, quiet hours are between 10pm and 8am. During these hours, there must be minimal noise outside so as not to wake any neighbors, especially near the property lines (hot tub and back deck).
Any monetary fine as a result of substantiated noise complaint that results in a violation from the county will be requested from the guest.
No smoking or illicit drug use:
No smoking or illicit drug use of any kind is permitted on the property. Smokers should smoke on the street.
Back Deck:
Guests must exercise caution when on the back deck due to the high elevation. No barbecuing or similar type of fire hazard activity is permitted on the deck.
Leave trash in designated areas:
Trash bins are by the driveway and collected every Monday. Please take your inside trash, bagged up, to the bins before leaving. If bins are full, place trash bags in the garage.
Animals:
As we are in the mountains, you may encounter wildlife, so please exercise caution. The property has seen raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, mice, bears, and deer. Flashlights are available at every exit point to aid visibility at night.
Winter expectations:
The property is provided with the driveway and paths to the main entrance and hot tub cleared of snow. Shovels are provided for guests to clear any snow during their stay as they desire, but guests shovel at their own risk. Natural winter conditions may result in hazards like icicles and slippery ice along the property. Guests must exercise extreme caution when navigating the property. As the owner is making a reasonable effort to maintain the property free of winter hazards by clearing the snow when it falls, the guests assume all liability for accidents that occur despite this reasonable effort to keep the property safe in the winter.
Out of bounds area:
Guests are not permitted to go to the bottom of the property (accessible through the stairs to the left of the hot tub), as it is hazardous and not maintained. Guests are fully liable for any injuries suffered at or on the way to that area.
If you have any questions or concerns at all about the following rules, please let me know and I’ll be happy to take that feedback into account for your stay and may reflect any changes necessary per guest feedback to my house rules in general. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
