Lovely Cottage in a nice Village with beautiful view
We had a real good time in the small town of Roundstone. Rhe Cottage is also small, but very good equipped. Eating and warm water was a bit complicated to start, but at least it worked. We enjoyed the Pubs and restaurants and the wonderful surroundings. We would come again.

A little piece of heaven.
The house was perfect for us, location second to none. So comfortable with beautiful view out to the harbour. Only downside was fridge inside shelf broken and double bed could do with a new mattress. Nothing than can’t be fixed. We are already booked in again next summer.

Excellent overall. We hope to be back. Key box on wall a little high for a smaller visitor and a second set of keys would be welcomed.

Pleasant house and lovely garden. Limited storage space. Parking on street limited due to neighbours reserving places. Enjoyed our stay and would return.

Roundstone at its best
So thrilled to have discovered this cosy, homely, wonderful little cottage. In a great location overlooking the fishing boats and the bay in Roundstone, with cafes, bars, shops close by. Well supported by a very friendly and helpful caretaker. The cottage was very well equipped. Everything we would want plus extras provided. Only one thing we thought it lacked was coat hooks. We loved our stay. Comfortable beds, cosy sitting room, dining area, well equipped kitchen. What more could we possibly want. Thank you.

Gorgeous house in beautiful Roundstone
My family of four, two children and two adults had a lovely five night stay in Sandy Heels. The location is perfect, right in the village, close to all the lovely pubs and restaurants and the view is just amazing. The weather was changeable so it was great to come home to a cosy house, light the stove and relax after walking the local beaches all day. There are plenty of books on the shelves and a fab reading spot up in the attic room which was such a bonus. Lots of room to spread out. My boys loved the attic room for chilling out waiting for the rain shower to pass, looking out the roof window at the harbour below. Comfy beds, great cooking facilities and a lovely patio added to the five star stay. We would all highly recommend this property for a stay in Connemara and will definitely be back!

A well appointed, cosy house in a great town
Sandy Heels is a bright, well appointed house in the heart of Roundstone. We loved it's position opposite the harbour with it's great sea views. We didn't really cook ourselves as there were so many great eating places in Roundstone, but the kitchen was well equipped had we wanted to. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was large with an electric shower and bath. The only problem we had was the hot water failed on our penultimate day, so we couldn't use the shower or bath. We let the caretaker know as soon as we discovered the problem, but it was not possible to fix the problem before we left the following morning.

Lovely little cottage in a beautiful location
We stayed here for 4 nights. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped and full of character. At first there was no hot water but I phoned our contact and he came round within an hour to try to sort it out. He couldn't fix it but he sent a plumber round a few hours later and the boiler was soon working again. The weather was very good and we were able to enjoy the lovely courtyard garden for some of our meals. We also ate at a couple of the very good restaurants in Roundstone. We did some local walks and swam in the sea at Gurteen Bay. We did several daytrips in the car to explore the Connemara area. We were delighted that we had chosen Roundstone as it was a little off the beaten track and not as full of cars and tourists as some other places we visited. Parking near the cottage was always easy.

Nice cottage, not so nice mattress
We stay at this cottage for 4 nights and I'd give it a better rating except for the poor quality mattress and the fact that I needed to do some cleaning when we got there. As a result of the thin and saggy mattress we didn't sleep well at all while we were there. The linens were also less than adequate, mismatched, old sheets and worn towels. The cottage was also very dusty, crumbs on the kitchen counter, a dirty cooktop, the bathtub needed to be cleaned before we used it. There was also a smell of fuel in the living area that we traced to the fire starters left for the wood-stove. Once we put them in a zip-lock, the smell disappeared so not a big deal but the management should be paying closer attention to details like that to ensure a comfortable stay for their guests. The housekeeper let us in to the unit and seemed very friendly and I would have called her to come over to clean if it had only been 1 or 2 issues but seeing that the entire cottage needed to be cleaned, I didn't call her, we were exhausted and didn't want to deal with someone coming over to clean what they obviously missed before. If the cottage had been clean I would give it a 5 star review. Its in a charming village, off the beaten path so just what we were looking for. The kitchen was very well appointed. Friendly people, a few great pubs and beautiful scenery. There's lots of music in the pubs in the summer but only on Sunday night in the off season which is something I wish I'd known. We had really good pub food and could walk home after a few pints. There's some nice walking in the area and there's a local guidebook that you can buy at the village hotel. It came in very handy. It's right across from the harbor, on the main road into the village so be prepared for some traffic noise in the early morning.

Perfect getaway cottage
Sandy heels was the perfect place for my short break. Very well equipped with a nice comfy bed and cosy lounge. Perfect location, close to pubs and restaurants (I especially recommend the Shamrock bar). Easy to get to lots of beautiful locations. It was the perfect base to explore Connemara from. I will definitely be back!

5 Days at Sandy Heels in Roundstone
After a long road trip along the Wild Atlantic Way the end of my journey was spent having a few days in Roundstone at Sandy Heels. I was never so sorry to leave a place and I am a seasoned traveller. This lovely cottage is warm, comfortable, stylish and perfectly placed to enable time to explore Connemara safe in the knowledge that a cosy home from home awaits your return.

Fabulous setting and accommodation.
This cottage was to a very high standard throughout. I travelled with my wife and 2 kids. Roundstone is one of Connemara's little gems. The views from the house of the Twelve Ben's is truly amazing. Kids playground only a 5 min walk from the house. Every part of Connemara is just on your doorstep Clifden, Letterfrack, Dogs Bay (amazing beach). The owner was at the end of the phone to help in anyway needed. A+++++ We will definitely return.

Amazing location, sweet cottage
Super location in Roundstone, amazing views. The dishwasher doesn't wash, you'll need to do your crockery by hand, and sadly the bath had to be cleaned before we could use it. Shower not great either. Could overlook all of the above because the views from the front door and bedroom were unsurpassable and will remain as treasured memories for ever. Overall the cottage is lovely.

Ideal cottage in lovely location
Stayed for 4 nights in October Very comfortable, well thought out living space. Lovely wee terrace and excellent views Well situated within the village and the village itself being well placed in Connemara for nearby and further afield activities. Worth climbing the hill behind and cycling to clifden. allthingsconnemara were very good on information and ticket booking, so we hired bikes there. Would also mention Frank Acton Garage in Clifden. Were brilliant when we had brake trouble. They fixed the brakes and helped us ensure it did not spoil the holiday Pubs and restaurants in Roundstone - we did not go to as many as intended as we loved to cook in, the cottage was so nice Shamrock has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and serves a brilliant G&T (has a great selection as well if you are looking for that!) O'Dowds was lovely for a birthday meal out Would definitely return
