"Overall it was fine. When I first saw it on the river I thought that would be cool. But it is behind the highway. Not so cool. Parking garage was a wee bit tight getting into and out of but it was nice having parking! We still walked everywhere. Nice town. This location would probably be nicer in the summer with activities on the warf"

"We arrived a day earlier than our booking and we were accommodated in the upstairs room (with ensuite added) in original old wooden at the back of the garden. It was lovely to be separate from the main hotel building and the charming manageress said we could stay on up there if we wanted for the rest of our stay. "The hotel was lovely and staff was friendly. The room was very comfortable. Would recommend staying here. Do not recommend Cafe Victor. The waiter in the three piece suite is pompous and arrogant. He made us feel uncomfortable and caught him smirking at us as we struggled to read French. We didn’t return for breakfast. "

"The check-in receptionist was rather unfriendly and went through the check -in process as if we an unwelcome distraction. I speak fluent English and French, but all three of us checking in found the information was mumbled and was almost "going through the motions." Once installed we found the room , hotel, the other staff and especially the breakfast a nice antidote to our first impression. "
