Where to begin?......
It began with poor communication from the owner. That should have been our red flag. When she finally got back with instructions on how to enter the property, they were wrong. She provided a phone number, missing a digit, and an access code that was obsolete. What to do? Ultimately, we asked a local shop keeper if she knew the owner. She did and called her. After such a hassle, we got in. That's when the condition of the apartment became apparent.
- No parking included, as advertised in listing.
- Dust and grime throughout.
- Mold in the bathroom and shower.
- A set of doors to the outside did not close or lock.
- Every time any resident in the building used the toilet, there was a loud, long groaning sound. This happened through the night.
-There were two filthy towels left to use in the bathroom.
- The AC flooded down the wall and onto a table and the floor below. Because there were no towels, we had to wipe up the water from the AC with a bedsheet.
- There was a toilet plunger (!) left on the table in the middle of the living room.
- All of our previous rentals offered a bit of coffee and/or tea, soap, S&P etc. to carry us for the first day. That was not the case with this rental.
There is more to say, but let this suffice. Steer clear of this rental. We reached out to the owner and still have not heard from her.
We left early the first morning and found a hotel. We are currently pursuing reimbursement through VRBO.
