Beautiful cottage in very peaceful and beautiful area.
Watchmakers Cottage is a delightful cottage which is very well equipped. You don't need to take anything for the kitchen with you. Max met us on arrival and showed us round the cottage. The hosts, Jenny and Max are very friendly and happy to help with anything if needed. We made use of the shaded patio area. You are also able to use their lovely gardens too. We will definitely will be back. Before we left, Jenny took us round the 2 bedroom apartment which is attached to their house. This is also very well equipped and is on this site 'Little Daffaluke'. Thank you Jenny and Mike for making our stay so comfortable. Diane and Colin

Delightful cottage in beautiful area
We spent a very enjoyable week staying at Watchmakers Cottage, inspite of the changeable British weather. The cottage is comfortable and very well equipped with everything you need, and Jenny and Max were most helpful when we had a query. We loved exploring the area and can particularly recommend Hellens Manor (Jacobean house and gardens) and Yat Rock with its breathtaking views over the Wye.

Great place to stay
The property is next to the owner's large house, which has extensive gardens for guests to visit. It was really helpful to be able to communicate with the owner before we started our visit. The cottage is well appointed and has all the facilities one needs especially if you are self catering rather than eating out. The owner is always happy to help with any queries. It is very peaceful there and thus great for a restful few days. There are of course many interesting places to visit during the stay.

Peaceful, good base in good weather
Cottage very pleasant and well equipped, but quite chilly unless light a wood fire in the main room. Beautiful gardens around main house, but the sitting area near the cottage is not the most convenient.

Watchmakers Cottage was a beautiful venue, lovely cottage with access to the gardens & shady area
The weather was very hot but it had a lovely shady spot to sit outside and relax and enjoy the delightful view. We would highly recommend it, from my 30 year old son and his girlfriend to 60 year olds. Fantastic is too tame a word for it all 👏🥰👏👏👏

A Comfortable Cottage in a quiet location
Everything was perfect at the Watchmakers Cottage. The weather forecast for our four night stay said it would be mild and a bit wet and it was. The cottage was ready for us when we arrived and Jenny had switched on all the radiators and lit a fire for us so it was already warm and cosy. Max supplied us with enough wood and kindling to get us through our new year stay. It was a lovely welcome from our hosts and the four us, friends from university so long ago, spent our days walking in the Wye valley and our evenings eating and drinking too much round the living room fire. Perfect. The approach roads are narrow and a bit bumpy so be warned but there are shops, pubs and restaurants within easy reach and Ross itself is only 10 minutes away.

Wonderful
We had a wonderful time staying at the Watchmakers Cottage. The countryside around was stunning and we enjoyed the varied bird life. Jenny and Max have created a wonderfully equipped cottage, a real home from home, everything was provided. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Jenny & Max were wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The firewood was always stocked and as we were there for 5 weeks, clean laundry was provided every week. Our children of 10 and 8 loved the gardens (as did we) and were very welcomed. The lovely shop at Whitchurch sells great coffee and was a joy to visit, selling lots of gourmet type food items including Gluten Free which we very much appreciated having a GF member of the family. We also enjoyed visiting the local farm shop. The cottage is in great proximity to the Forest of Dean & Wye valley, with Symonds Yat a short drive away. Thank you Jenny & Max, it was just what we hoped for after our move back to the UK.

A Treasure in the Wye Valley
The stay at this cottage was perfect from start to finish. The property was very well equipped , comfortable and lovely and warm. When we arrived there was a lovely fire in the lounge which was very welcome after our journey on a wet Saturday afternoon. The grounds were charming and full of interest. The host was at pains to make sure that our stay was a success and enjoyable.

Pretty cottage in exquisite setting
A lovely, cosy cottage backing on to my ideal kitchen garden. It was wonderful standing at the sink looking through the kitchen window out to the rows of tomato plants and apple trees. At night we could lie in bed and listen to the owls. The gardens surrounding the cottage were sumptuous.

Cosy and peaceful cottage
Jenny and Max were extremely accommodating, very friendly and made us feel really welcome at their home. The property was well equipped with good facilities for an infant too. The garden and surrounding fields were a great place to explore and the location is perfect for short day trips along the wye valley and even to the coast, but tucked away from the hustle bustle. We especially enjoyed the terrace and spotting birds in the evening after a busy day. Would highly recommend. Thank you very much Jenny and Max.

Lovely cottage and location
It was a very nice cottage very quaint. The open log fire was great as unfortunately the weather was very bad and quite chilly. The only slight down side was the cottage did feel quite damp and had a slight damp smell but this didn't cause any real issue.

Watchmakers Delight
Watchmakers cottage was how we imagined , quiet, cosy, comfortable with excellent views over the Victorian garden from the kitchen . We met Jenny ( the owner) on arrival with freshly baked scones and jam delicious ! and Max ( the owner) later on whilst viewing the enviable garden filled with fruits & vegetables. We enjoyed lighting the open fire (although not cold) and relaxing each evening after a days outing visiting so many wonderful local historic sites ! Would definitely recommend this cottage - in fact we are going back at the end of August !
