The day we arrived a friendly gentleman checked us in. I had to show my drivers license. I also had to show my credit card even though I had prepaid my booking. The room we got was very close to the lobby and dining room which was very convenient for my friends who have difficulty walking. The room was spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool had been filled with dirt so it was not available. Plenty of free parking for hotel guests. The breakfast was very skimpy but Waffle House and IHOP and other eating places were nearby. Only real complaint was an older lady working there who told us we had to take breakfast to our room as dining hall lights would not be lit nor have been lit since COVID. We found out the next morning that was untrue. She just didn't want to turn lights on since she would have to enter the room next to it in order to turn lights on. That is an unkind act. People would be struggling to carry food to their room when there is a perfectly good dining area available. Otherwise; this was a very nice place to stay. Modest not fancy. There was also a very nice young lady who prepared the coffee machine to work properly on Sunday morning. We were grateful for her efforts. Cleaning staff will make your beds and leave fresh towels if you don’t leave a do not disturb sign on the door. They do an excellent job.
