I was a bit shocked at the interior of the hotel. I felt like I was back at my catholic high school. Nonetheless, it was very clean. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was really nice. Beautiful views in the courtyard area. The only negative thing I can say is that they are renovating the hotel and my beautiful casement window were halted from opening due to a scaffold behind them.

Nice hotel with convenient location
I stayed at Villa Monte Mario earlier this week for 2 nights. The hotel is in the Trionfale area providing you with easy access to the city centre by bus and metro. Buses run until 12am. The hotel is clean and fairly quiet, providing you with peace during sleep. The single bed was really uncomfortable and the hotel fails to inform their guests about a €5 charge per night for using the air conditioning remote. This is wrong and the charge is not communicated to guests on their hotel information booklet and at reception. However, the hotel are currently carrying out works to the exterior and so access to the gardens is restricted. I was lucky to have a nice bedroom view of the garden but was disrupted by noise of construction workers in the mid-morning. Only two members of staff spoke good English. The nuns only speak Italian. Breakfast was ok given it is inclusive in the room price. Ideal for those wanting a short stay in Rome and to experience Italy authentically.

This place has amazing history and is run by nuns. Everything is pretty average but with nuns it is all made special. The 913 & 990 city Buses stop right out front, very convenient. The nuns sell bus tickets Vatican tickets and hop on hop off bus tickets.

Nice and quiet hotel. They were renovating when we were there so the gardens and whole back of the hotel was closed. Room was nice and comfortable. Lots of room. Bathroom very clean and spacious. We never tried the breakfast as it was only from around 7-9am and we were too lazy to get up that early. Bad thing was no shower, only bath. The worst thing about this hotel was the heat. It was way way too hot in the rooms as it was over 30 degrees everyday outside. The windows were screwed shut because of construction and there was no air conditioning. They said there is a €5 daily fee for air conditioning, which was only a small fan that was put in the room that did nothing. It was a shame becaus even the location was perfect with a bus literally right outside the gate. It was impossible to sleep in that heat with no air conditioning or air from the windows. Other than that it was value for money.

Nice religious villa to stay in
Great place to stay, but just a warning, it's a catholic villa, something we were not expecting. The breakfast was amazing with lots to choose from! The room wasn't very spacious for 4 people in one room. And the location of the villa, is a little far from the main tourist attractions and will have to take a bus and metro to get to the centre.

Am I lost?
The place is run by nuns and they are very nice but they are traditional and several spoke no English. The place has few signs and isn’t perfect for international travelers. No signage either so we weren’t sure we were at the right place for several minutes.

Calm, clean and very close to the Vatican.
A little bit hard to find: the address we had is not clearly posted outside. It would help to know that we are looking for a Carmelites building for that's what is advertised. " Villa Monte Mario " is seen nowhere. Also, even if we appreciate the calm and slow pace, it is not normal to take 20 minutes to check in when we are alone at the counter! Same slow service when we need our key, coming back at night after an exhausting day.... Shower has no place to put a soap or a bottle of shampoo but on the floor! A little tray would have been useful, especially for my elderly mother, with less risk of slippering each time she had to bench...

Nice enough place to stay for cheap
Quirky hotel run by the sister's, not much in the way of luxury but it's very clean and easy to navigate. There's a few vending machines on the ground floor with plenty of snacks and drinks, a few food places local to the hotel and only a 15 minute drive to the main sights of Rome.

Terrible place!!!! Do not stay!
This place was beyond terrible! We checked in and was immediately judged by the staff and the nuns. The hotel room was very religious. They floors still had lots of hair from previous visitors. When asked how to use the AC they said we were allowed so subsequently the room was very hot. Also very noisy! We ended up staying only one night and booking another hotel because the staff was so rude and was very upset with us that we were leaving, even though we still paid for the room the extra nights since they wouldn't cancel the reservation. I would highly recommend people to NOT stay there. The breakfast was terrible also. When we finally checked out, one of the nuns kept talking in Italian for many minutes, presumably about us. We were very uncomfortable there and would never go back

Kicsit messze van a belvárostól, de ettől eltekintve teljesen rendben van. Maga a szálloda jól néz ki, tágas, a személyzet barátságos és segítőkész. O hotel é num local mais afastado dos pontos turísticos de Roma. Para chegar ou sair é necessário pegar um ônibus (15 minutos aprox.). Contudo fica numa área muito tranquila que emana paz. Café da manhã muito bom, quarto bem confortável.
