Vatican Penthouse with Terrace - St Peter's Dome view

Placed in one of the most central areas of the eternal city, this wonderful 160 m2 apartment is composed of a living room, a dining room, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a large terrace overlooking Saint Peter's dome; it comfortably hosts up to 8 guests.

The apartment has been completely renovated in 2013 and refurbished with both modern and original antique furniture. It is on the third and last floor of an historical building and for this reason there is no lift. Free Wi-Fi Internet is available in all parts of the apartment.

As soon as you enter, you will be fascinated by the spacious entrance and the long corridor through which you can access all areas of the property. The apt is provided with a 22sqm, which is an added value as buildings in the area usually don't have external spaces. Both from the terrace and the dining room windows you can see Via Cola di Rienzo, Piazza Risorgimento, the Vatican walls and St. Peter's dome.

The day area consists of a living room, with a double sofa bed, Satellite Tv, and a dining room with a very large table that can sit up to 10 people. A fully equipped kitchen completes the area, provided with oven, dish washer, toaster, kettle, Italian coffee maker and Nespresso coffee machine.

The night area is composed of three bedrooms: one is provided with two single beds, the other two have 2 doubled beds. The apt has 3 bathrooms, two provided with showers and one with a tub. Washing machine and dishwasher are available for our guests as well.

If needed, a single couch bed is in the dining room and can host an additional guest.

Great location
Great apartment and Maria and her daughter were extremely accommodating. Rome was extremely hot in August but the air conditioning in the home was great so it didn't bother us at night. Walking distance to the Vatican with a number of good restaurants near by as well as a large taxi stand close by. Highly recommend and would stay here again.

Lovely apartment
We had a wonderful stay in Rome and this apartment was a comfortable place to come back to each evening. The air conditioning was a reprieve from the hot weather outside. We enjoyed the evening breezes on the rooftop deck as well as the views. Easy walk to Vatican City. Lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance, too.

Great Apartment
Six of us came to Rome to explore this beautiful city and also to enjoy a day at the Ryder Cup. The apartment was lovely and ideally situated, we particularly enjoyed sitting out on the terrace for coffee in the morning and wine at the end of the night! Maria could not have been more helpful, and organised taxis to and from the airport for us. I would definitely stay in this apartment again.

Beautiful spacious, great location!

Wonderful Apartment
What a fabulous apartment in a great location! It is in such close proximity to The Vatican (and Museum), restaurants, shops and the taxi line is just across the street. The apartment itself is spacious and lovely with everything you could want - including air conditioning! And Maria and Camilla could not have been any nicer. This is a great place to stay in Rome, indeed.

Excellent location and huge apartment in one of the best Rome’s neighborhoods!
The apartment is huge, and the AC works perfectly (we stayed in Rome during the hottest week of Summer 2023), a 10-minute walk from the Vatican Museums, and great restaurants, supermarkets, and stores nearby. The host, Maria, booked 2 transfers for us which were extremely helpful (from Fiumicino and to Roma Termini). She always answered my questions and was super friendly. Thanks for hosting us!

We were very happy with our stay. The air conditioning worked so good and the three bathrooms and three bedrooms worked perfect for our family of 5. The beds were very comfortable. Check in process was so easy. Maria was so nice to help book a van to pick us up at the train station and pick us up again early for the airport on the day we left. Washing machine worked great and there were racks to hang towels on to dry. Would definitely recommend staying here. Only a 10 minute walk to the Vatican and around a 10 minute walk to the metro.

Amazing views
Great apartment with tons of restaurants, shops and the Vatican nearby. We spend our Christmas holiday and this place and it was decorated with a Xmas tree for us to enjoy. A bottle of Prosecco and chocolates was left by the host, nice touch! Our host was gracious and arranged transportation from fumicino airport and to our ship in Civitavecchia! We did manage to get our steps in during our stay! This apartment has no lift! But we managed and planned our travel in and out of the apartment! Overall a great place!

The apartment was clean and modem with beautiful terrace overlooking the square. Also excellent sun exposure from the South and West and we had many dinners on the terrace. The beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms very large. Washing machine came in handy with 5 kids laundry. Our house provided us with amenities such as Jam tea and coffee.

Perfect Location
Maria was an amazing host, she went way above and beyond to help us. She scheduled the shuttles from the train station and to the airport, called us several times to help us navigate our way to our driver. She was so, so helpful! The apartment was spacious and filled with, what I assumed, are family heirlooms. Beautiful vintage and antique furniture. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay, and the balcony, with the Vatican and St. Peter’s dome view, was our nightly wine enjoyment spot. Perfect Location
The apartment is very close to the Vatican! All the rooms are very large with ample space for my large family. Beautiful kitchen, dining area and a fabulous balcony! The only thing to consider when renting the apartment is the stairs. They are not for the faint of heart. But, after walking all over Rome… the stairs aren’t a problem. Beautiful Place! Wonderful Host! I would definitely return. Bella Italia!

Spacious well-equipped apartment
The photos do not do justice to the size of the apartment. We were really impressed by the large rooms, huge balcony, and by how well equipped it was. Everything was provided, from the welcome basket full of treats, milk and eggs in the fridge, to washing powder and toilet rolls. We were also very impressed by how close we actually were to the Vatican - literally a 5min walk. Maria, the owner was also very helpful in organising taxi transfers for us to and from the airport. We would definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to return to Rome. One of the best holidays we've had!

Beautiful apartment with gorgeous views, and nice owners!
Our stay in this Rome apartment was wonderful! Maria was easy to communicate with via emails when booking this apartment. She also arranged a pick up shuttle van from the train station for our family to her home, and another shuttle to the airport when we left. Camilla (her daughter) met us at the apartment and showed us everything to know about it, as well as the local area and good restaurants nearby. We did a walking tour with Camilla and she did a spectacular job. It was so nice to have Camilla’s perspective about her hometown, and about Italy. We loved the apartment as it was just perfect for our family of five. The apartment views are gorgeous, the outside patio lovely, and the air conditioning perfect! There are some stairs to hike up to the apartment, but it didn’t bother us at all. We would stay here again and again. Thank you!

Great location! Maria and her daughter Camilla were fantastic to work with!
Maria’s apartment was exactly what we needed for a family of 5....more than enough room to spread out but comfortable and homey at the same time. It was in a great location and Maria and her daughter were very easy to work with! We found out (by us inquiring about tour company options) that Camilla worked for a local one. We had already booked with another one but then also booked additional tours with the company that Camilla works for. A side note....the company that Camilla works is now one of our favorite companies to do tours with! Within the 8 days that we stayed, one day the hot water and heat weren’t working. I contacted Maria and very quickly she had someone over to fix the problem at a time that was convenient for us and our kids. Overall, we had a very positive experience and would highly recommend her apartment!!! Far superior to staying in a cramped hotel room!!! Lisa Stokes

Spacious and comfortable flat near the Vatican
My family of 5 really enjoyed staying in this apartment! The central air conditioning was a treat, and much appreciated. The apartment is accurately described in the listing, extremely clean, and the terrace is especially enjoyable. We also appreciated the washing machine. As other reviewers have noted, the stairs provide a bit of a workout - this was not a problem for us, but should be considered if people have physical limitations. The location is extremely convenient to the Vatican, and a brief walk to the subway. Many restaurants and shops are nearby, and we especially enjoyed meals at Flower Burger (vegan) and La Soffitta Renovatio (Italian). A short walk also to a wonderful Sicilian gelato/pastry shop, Gelarmony. Maria, her husband Flavio, and their daughter Camilla (the property manager) were responsive and gracious hosts. They arranged van transport for us from the train station to the apartment, and from the apartment to the airport for our very early morning flight home - this was so nice, considering that my Italian is too limited to effectively negotiate with taxi drivers.

Great host, great location
Camilla was an amazing, friendly and responsive host. She could not have been nicer. The apartment is in a great location, is very roomy and has a wonderful outdoor space. That said, the one big issue for me, and the reason I can’t give 5 stars is because of how very old, very dated and very worn everything in the apartment is. The beds, sheets, pillows, couches/cushions, etc, even the spare pillows in the closets (which are actually stained), everything smells and feels old and worn. I didn’t sleep well because I kept thinking of how many people had laid their heads on the lumpy and uncomfortable pillow I was trying to sleep on. I finally took a fresh bath towel and covered the pillow with it. You can only wash those types of things so many times over the years when at some point, they just stop feeling clean and fresh. The apartment in general is in desperate need of being updated, but If nothing else, the mattresses, linens, sofas and pillows need to be bought new. I didn’t even mind all of the many old personal effects of the owners or the old lamps, end tables, beds, etc which date back to I don’t know how many decades ago, but as a traveler, I need to feel like I can settle in to a clean, comfortable space and for me, that was not possible. If you’re not concerned with this type of thing when you travel, you may not mind it, but for myself it would most definitely prevent me from recommending to family or friends.
