Great location in heart of city.
Professional staff in a boutique type of hotel. Room was quite chic. Could benefit from a clean up outside the side windows.

Hotel has been closed for 2 years
This hotel has been closed for almost two years. I booked in through expedia less than a year ago and did not learn that it was closed until after walking with my luggage uphill for a couple km to see a building that looked like it had been ransacked. What woman doesn't like sitting on the street of Rome with her luggage while she pays for 25 minutes of roaming charges speaking to expedia to resolve it?

MOVED ME TO THE EuroStart International
My 1st exp was AWFUL. The std room was old, it wasn't a comfortable and relaxing experience at the end of touring the city. The bed was uncomfortable, carpet was old and dingy – I kept my slippers on the entire time. I wish I would have spent more so I can have a piece of mind at the end of a long day. Couple that with 2 aggressive male employees. Literally 2 of the hotel employees tried to pick me up. They both, (on separate occasions), called and came to my hotel room to tell me how much they liked me and wanted to take me out. Because of this I avoided any of the hotels amenities and services. I did not utilize the front desk nor did I go to the daily breakfast.

Hotel was closed on arrival
We went there and the hotel was closed. Hotels.com informed us about this while we were already on our trip via e-mail with only 3 days of notice. We didn't find out until we got there. There was no one there to help us and we had to find help; found a piece of folded paper on the ground saying we should go to a different hotel where the guests are re-located.

Unbelievable: THIS HOTEL WAS CLOSED!
I had the worst experience in Italy this day. We walk to our hotel and it is completely CLOSED. No sign of life and after peering inside, the hotel was thrashed. I marched to the building's parking lot and the person working there took me to someone that spoke Eng. Together, we all found a piece of folded paper lying on the ground outside the hotel that said we should go to another hotel: International Palace. We had not received any e-mail regarding this change. I was furious and we took a taxi to the next hotel. The people at the next hotel were clueless about Hotel Internazionale and they didn't show any compassion. Based on my confirmation number, they were able to find our reservation and a place for us to stay. After they did, the two sales associates, Marco and Alex didn't care to help us further. We were in disbelief of how things operate with the hotel. We asked for the manager of Hotel Internazionale and the front desk of the International Palace said that he is out of the country. Great. This will be reported to Hotels.com as well as to those considering this "hotel."

Room 35 they have us was terrible, we were then given 53 which was much better. Not worth the €190 though.

Great Location for the Good Value hotel
This hotel is located at the top of the Spanish Steps and is a fantastic location. It is situated within walkign distance from all the main rome sites. A 2 minute walk from Via condotti and other world class shops. Stunning views from the roof terrace Considering the other International naed hotels on this street, this hotel was very good value for money

Good central location
Good location for sightseeing, close to Spanish Steps and short walk to other key attractions, basic room amenities, had booked double room but given twin, good breakfast selection, helpful staff. We had room at front of hotel which was noisy, would have been better to request room at rear of hotel.

NOT a 4 Star hotel, not even 3 star
Location and neighborhood are great. Hotel itself was not so great. Wall molding in room was very dusty (eye level, hard to miss if one is really cleaning). Bathroom walls were dirty with mold. Bath/Shower leaked and the solution from housekeeping was to put bath towels on the floor around the tub. Front desk staff in the morning was very unfriendly; evening staff very friendly and helpful. Won't ever stay here again.

Had to move out of room 34 had roaches ! Then they re rented it to a business man with out doing anything he left the place screaming of the roaches an left the hotel mad! Staff moved us to different smaller rooms which were ok but small would not compensate for the bad experiences . Internet bad there too. Elevator was gross smelled of urine should be a two star max

Good location & good price.
The hotel is near the top of the Spanish steps which is a pretty good location. The staff was polite and courteous and most of them new English fairly well. I'd recommend this hotel, for people traveling on a budget that don't need a lot of amenities, but want to be in a good location. The hotel definitely needs updating. It could be a great hotel, if they put some money into renovations. Also, the small bar area never opened while we were there (early November). Not about the hotel, but make sure you find the elevator at the top of the Spanish steps down to the tram station. It will save you a lot of stair climbing.

Very good location. The staff, some of them were kind, but not all of them. When we arrive they were working on the hotel, so it was smelling and it had no water for getting a shower some hours of the day. They fixed the water and smell problem after a while. Breakfast was a little boring because the lack of variety. The bathroom was nice, but the room was small, (with a poor bed). The best thing of the hotel is the location per sure!

We've stayed here about 6 or more times. We choose it because of location at a reasonable price and it is in walking distance of Via Venito, Piazza de Popolo and Trevi Fountain and many other interesting sites. There are many cafes and bistros and mega shops .

Super Great Value & Location
Overall a great place to stay... In the middle of all the "happenings" in Rome, just a few steps from the Spanish Embassy and the Spanish Steps. The hotel is vey old dating back to the 17th century. It is said that a Pope (?) directed the hotel be built to house the Spanish Embassy visitors. Also just down the "Steps" to Rome's "Rodeo Drive"... so take plenty of money. We priced the two hotels just a few feet from our front door--5 star properties, both of them and priced at almost THREE times what we were paying. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance; all ranges from pizza joints to fine dinning and everything in between. We tried most all of them and did not have a bad meal in any of them although a bit overpriced (medium pizza @ $24.00 US dollars) by U.S. standards. Good breakfast offerings; fresh fruit, cereals, scrambled eggs, shaved ham, juice, pastries--the best European breakfasts we experienced.

Perfect location, good staff, disappointing room
You could not ask for a better location than this hotel, right at the top of the Spanish steps and within walking distance of all the sights. The staff are friendly especially the lady at breakfast. However, the room was very disappointing! The air conditioning unit didn't work and there was a large area of mould/damp on the wall. Also the furniture was very old and two nights in a row there was no hot water in the shower. We had a terrace off our room but it had not been cleaned in a while and there was even empty ice cream pots on the floor.

Four Star Location - Two Star Hotel
Hotel is in a fabulous location just steps from the Spanish Steps in Rome but it is a very tired property. Threadbare carpet , maze like hallways , low ceilings in some rooms and bathrooms one can't turn around in becuase they are so narrow. Service was minimal. Breakfast was included and again more 2* than 4* in quality and selection.

Unfortunately the hotel is tired and needs an update. We had a small double bed that was not too comfortable. It's a pity since breakfast was wonderful and the breakfast room gorgeous. The location is good but not great. There was an additional 12 euro city tax so this was a bit expensive.

terrific location to walk to all main attractions
There was a little mold in bathroom, but room was spacious and otherwise very clean. Wifi was not available in our room, but I could get it in dinning room and lobby. Good complimentary breakfast buffet with large assortment.
