NOT a Hotel, but a Room in someones Apt
Terrible Experiece. This is NOT a hotel, not even a bed and breakfast. This is a lady who is renting a room. We got there and the bed was not made, and we were waiting along some other people who were waiting for them as well and were going to get an "apartment" as well. We were waiting for the girl outidise of the building. In the door bell, it had a sticker that said: Door bell broke, please call a number to let me know ur here. And we in a foreign country not always have a way to do so unless we get a pay phone or wifi to call through Skype. Then, like 20 minutes later the girl came and opened the building door to us and the other people who were waiting.. took us to the 2nd floor, opened a door like a hall way and showed us our "Room" next to the other people's room. We had to share a bathroom. The bed was not even made, like the people who "Checked out" has just left. When we ask about getting a key, they told us we had to call before getting there and someoone was gonna go open the door for us... i mean, worse experience ever ever.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DUMP
This should not be on Hotels.com as it's a B&B that you have to call when you arrive. It ruined my stay in Rome and I had to get another room and pay double for my one night there. The owner says they clearly noted that I'd need to call upon arrival but this is only noted in the fine print of the confirmation email, so I easily missed it. Avoid at all costs! Who has a phone when they are travelling internationally? So stupid to force a traveler to call you upon arrival. They could have at least reached out to me and requested a meeting time. Don't book unless you want to be hassled by calling and making plans to waste your time on holiday. DO NOT BOOK THIS AND STAY AT A LOCAL HOTEL!!

Not really a hotel
A nice apartment with four rooms - but not a hotel - breakfast is in the kitchen - self service and mainly continental unless you buy the ingredients and cook yourself. Very friendly ladies running the show and decent location

Relax-ing
Definitely a B&B, not a hotel. Very caring staff though not on the premises full time. The room was comfortable and spacious. High marks for a very comfortable bed. All things considered, I would be happy to stay there again.

Likely scam
Disappointing. I booked this hotel which was at the top end of our budget for somewhere nice to stay in Rome. It stated on the information to contact the owner to arrange a check in time because they would need to meet us. On the email provided the contact information was left blank. I managed to find the contact information on the internet and emailed. I received no reply. I phoned and arranged a time to meet for a check in. We arrived at the door of the hotel and were met by a lady who gave us an unconvincing story of why we were unable to stay in her hotel. I had talked to her earlier in the day and she had not mentioned any problems at the time. She had booked us in to a hotel around the corner. This ended up being cheaper but I would never have chosen this hotel myself. I have noted that previous reviews also state she had overbooked/problem with the room so this is not an isolated incident.

Comfortable B&B
This place is actually a B&B, which was not apparent to me when I booked the place. It was a comfortable room albeit warm and there was lots of street noise when we opened the window. The proprietor was extremely friendly and provided us with lots of information. She really welcomed us and tried to make us feel at home. The breakfast was meagre; one of us is vegan and there was no food he could eat aside from the fruit. The location was really convenient - close to Termini station and the sights were easily accessible walking or taking the metro. I'd stay here again.

Time to RELAX
Hotel is bed and breakfast which is quite handy for the traveller(s) on tight budget, breakfast is included and rooms are nice and clean, some parts of the room need to be maintained such as mould in bathroom but all is great. The down side is that hotel DOES NOT have 24h reception so make sure you contact the staff prior to arrival. Hotel is far from main attractions but still nice to walk around Rome and explore.

Beware Relax - definitely don't get what you book.
We booked the 'quadruple 269 sq. ft. family room' at Relax for 2 adult and 2 children aged 15 and 16 for 4 days in Rome. When we arrived at Relax it was a locked door of a rough looking building with a hand written sign on a broken bell pad. Unable to get an answer a local came to our help and phoned a contact number on the card to be told there was no room for us there and we were transferred to a place a couple of streets away. When we arrived there we were taken down the street to a locked up block of rooms and given the keys to our small room with a double bed and 2 bunk beds which folded down out of a cupboard. Breakfast was a coffee and a bun obtained by giving a voucher to a local bar down the road. As a student I would have been fine but for a family holiday with 2 adult sized children crammed in at 35 degrees, not such fum. Definitely not what what we booked, and to add insult our room was still being advertised,( at a much higher price) for the same period. (See attached photos)

Nice stay with a great host
Room was beautifully renovated and very spacious. We had the largest suite. The patio was fabulous and the shared kitchen was a nice touch. Christina and Radmila were lovely hosts! :) Cons -On a noisy street and windows are not sound proofed. I am a deep sleeper and needed earplugs to sleep. -Shower in need of serious repair. The beautiful rain shower head would only drip water out of one side and the drain was plugged so any more than a 2 minute shower would cause overflowing. -hot water was also not very plentiful BTW - this is not a "full American style" bed and breakfast type place but rather an Italian one (croissant and coffee only for breakfast) so be prepared for that. The name is confusing as there is no protein in the morning to sustain you until lunch for a day touring Rome. You can however cook your own breakfast in the kitchen. Roomtip - stay in one of the suites backing on to the patio for a quieter sleep.

Very good value of money
We stayed here on the 28th February - 1st March 2015. Very clean, cosy, easy to find and nice rooms not far away from Termini station and piazza de la Republica. The street is very calm and hides from the noise around the central station. There is a spacious double bed, private bathroom with shower, TV and personal safe box and a shared terrace (perfect for a glass of wine!) - everything was clean and nice. Breakfast is nice for people who have a sweet tooth (other might be a little disappointed) but it is typical Italian breakfast, so there is nothing to complain about. There are always some drinks and snacks in the kitchen if you come back to the b&b during the day. Staff was extremely helpful with the maps, keys, eating directions etc. Thank you for everything!

A bit of a disappointment
We booked for 4 adults and arranged to be checked in 2 hours early at 1pm. It took us half an hour to get there as we took the longest possible rout. It was difficult to find the hotel as there is no banner or signs. There is a small sticker on the door buzzer. Anyway we rang the bell and no answer. Luckily a lady went in and we just followed. When we got to the floor by stairs (elevator fits 1 person and 1 luggage), we were told that the bell doesn't work (Cristina could have told us when arranging the early check in over emails). In the room and found 2 extra beds (not shown in the picture and no mention of 2 extra beds). The mattresses were very uncomfortable, the sheets were different colour to the main beds.. totally out of place. Breakfast in the shop downstairs was tea or coffee and choice of 1 pastry or croissant (if you wanted another then you have to ask for it which I found to be a bit sad but we asked as we were still hungry). Croissants, after 4 days got very boring so we asked for sandwiches on the last day (which is just half a sandwich).. only other option from the shop. I couldn't be bothered to ask for another one even though we were hungry and had to travel. My daughter was asked to pay the night before by someone we hadn't even see when I explicitly arranged with Cristina to pay before we check out at 7.30am or 10.30pm the night before. Needles to say, my daughter was very worried about a strange lady asking her to pay when she did not have any money.
