Private Amazing Terrace - 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms - AC/WiFi/Washer

Beautiful rental apartment in Rome center at Governo Vecchio, or the street stretching over one of the city's most interesting areas, including Piazza Navona. Among its great assets, a large terrace overlooks the clock towering over nearby Piazza dell'Orologio. It sleeps up to 4 people, thus being ideal for two couples of friends or a family holiday.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor of an ancient building, with an elevator up a flight of 15 steps. There is an entrance hall that leads to the living room furnished with two sofas and two armchairs, a dining table with 4 seats, a couple of low tables, old desk and commode, all that may seem desirable for watching television and other vacation activities.

On one side of the living room, a window corridor separates the bedrooms. A double bedroom is located at one end of the corridor, it has wardrobe, suit hanger, desk and side tables, also windows with a balcony overlooking the rear of the house, with a picturesque Rome view, and an inner bathroom with shower.

The kitchen is fully equipped, and set in a separate corner of the apartment. It includes cooker, oven, microwave, kettle, dishwasher, Nespresso Coffee Maker and a wall table to put things on or sit at while cooking and eating - be it the Italian way or not - but you'd better use the dining room for a mealtime. A separate closet along the corridor contains the washing machine.

At the other end of the corridor there is a twin or double bedroom, past which you get into a small room with wardrobe, a desk with one seat, an armchair, a balcony that overlooks the rear of the house, with the same picturesque Rome view, apart from another inner bathroom with tub.

The apartment has air-conditioning units in the bedrooms and living room.

Access to the private terrace is granted solely to Clock House's renters through an external flight of steps up to the top level by steps or elevator.

The terrace is equipped with a kitchenette to make breakfast or warm up food, and also a dining table with chairs.

Relaxing Rome visit
Good location, close to restaurants and public transportation. Property was clean, communication was simple and friendly, could use some updates (shower drains slow). Entry steps are quite steep (15 of them) to get to the small elevator, so could be a struggle for those over 60 or with little children (strollers etc).

Lovely apartment in a great central location
Great apartment on the third floor, nice living room space, small, well equipped kitchen. En-suites for both rooms although the twin room one is not exactly adjacent. Comfortable beds, clean and welcoming. Both bathrooms are a bit dated and there are a few steps up and down in the flat which you have to watch out for. The roof terrace is a shared space and is not attached to the flat, being on the floor above. Location is fantastic, straight out onto the street which takes you down to the Piazza Novona, about 5 mins walk. Generally quiet but there are restaurants and bars around so can be noisy at times.

Perfect location
We were so glad we chose this property—it was in a perfect location for us to walk to so many things in Rome. Wonderful places to eat around there, too. And we enjoyed sitting on the terrace for a glass of wine in early evening before stepping out for dinner.

Beautiful location in Rome
Lovely apartment in a wonderful building situated in a lovely setting in Rome. The owners are very responsive, and it was especially nice to have an offer for them to coordinate a transportation service from the airport! Terrace is positively lovely, overlooking historic bell towers. Apartment was perfect for our family (two adults, two teenagers). A wonderful find and we'd definitely stay again!

Perfect! Loved the Clock House
My two adult daughters and I came to celebrate our birthdays and had a wonderful time. The location is perfect! Close to many of the big historical places but just enough off the tourist track to have some peace and quiet at night with nice local restaurants and cafés. Highly recommend this nice place. Beds were comfy and pillows very fresh and comfortable too. Very clean and well equipped. Bellisimo!

Clean and Comfortable in a great location
Terrific (and clean) apartment In a lovely corridor with easy walking access the top sites. Great shops, restaurants and cafe's just outside the door. Kitchen is not well equipped, but we didn't go to Rome to cook. Coffee machine needs replacing, it can't make a HOT cup of coffee. Shower heads need replacing in both bathrooms. Private terrace is really nice - but not accessible directly from the apartment (a walk upstairs). Overall a really nice place and terrific location.

Spacious apartment, perfect location!
Clean, quiet, comfortable, in central Rome mere minutes from all of the major attractions. Terrific communication with the team made check in a breeze. The kitchen is sufficient but minimally appointed, though with dozens of cafes and restaurants literally within steps, it met our needs perfectly. The stairs up to the upper level apartment will help burn off the pizza and pasta, though there is an elevator available on the mezzanine level (i.e. steps are required) for travelers weary after days and nights exploring the Eternal City. Highly recommend -- we can't wait to return!

Fantastic Location, Good value
Total gem of a neighborhood. Close to Plaza Navonna, Vatican, Pantheon. Terrific communication with prop management group. Very spacious unit for the neighborhood. Loved the age and patina of the unit. Needs some help in the kitchen for glassware and a sharp knife. Try to fix the drawers in bathroom. Absolutely wonderful terrace that comes with the unit. The views are simply lovely. Very pleased overall.

Live like a Roman local, visit like a tourist
Fantastic location just a short stroll to Piazza Navona, Pantheon and more. With restaurants at your door and walking distance to everything else, the apartment had everything we could ever desire. Air conditioning for the baking hot days we had, a wonderful roof-top terrace for evening drinks with bird's-eye view of Rome's bell towers and domes. A lift for heavy luggage and a wonderful greeting from our hosts. Couldn't fault this accommodation. Thankyou guys.

Lovely property and location
I enjoyed my time at the Clock House. The property was lovely and the girls really enjoyed the rooftop in the evening when the sun went down. It was nice to have an elevator as our luggage was heavy. Emanuele and Marta were very responsive and helpful in arranging our transfers and providing advice. When I accidentally left my silk wrap in the transfer van, Emanuele and Marta retrieved it and returned it to the Clock House while we were out sight seeing. I really appreciated the outstanding customer service and would definitely return to this location or other "From Home to Rome" properties.

Great apartment in perfect neighborhood when visiting Rome
We had a great stay in this apartment. Four of us traveled (me/husband and 2 friends) and found the rooms to be very comfortable. Bringing our dinner up to the private rooftop was one of the most memorable evenings, thanks to this place. A few things about the apartment that could use improving: there isn't a lot of space in the queen bedroom to put away clothes or leave your suitcase open and the bathroom lacked counter space, hooks or racks to hang towels and toiletries. To take the elevator to the apartment on the 3rd floor, you have to climb a steep flight of stairs. Easy for most, but not if you need an elevator from the ground floor. Kitchen is well-equipped and the Nespresso machine was great when one of us wanted a coffee without leaving the apartment. There is also a washing machine (no dryer). Perfect location to easily walk to Vatican City, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, etc.

Fantastic location!
Our stay at the clock house was very nice. I will try to highlight the pros and cons below. Pros: Location location location. You really can't beat the location of this apartment central to everything and on a beautiful street West multiple cafes and stores. The accommodations were also very nice and the check in process and communication with the rental own managers was wonderful. The patio was such a nice bonus that we enjoyed in the late evenings after the Sun went down to have a nice glass of wine and play some games with the kids. The cons are the AC in the main Room was not working and we were in Rome during a heat wave so that was unfortunate but we found cool comfort in the 2 bedrooms that also had AC units. The water in the main shower would not drain and the sink also had some water puddling issues but these were minor issues in my mind. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here!

Awesome apartment.
We loved the 2 bedroom apartment with the large living room. The kitchen was well stocked. We only went up on the terrace once and liked it up there but it was mid-July and just too hot to be hanging around outside. The apartment is on the 4th floor (to an American). You have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the tiny elevator that will take you to the 4th floor. When all four of us were in it, it was full. If you're taking luggage up or down, you'll need to do it in shifts. It's really a great apartment. The AC worked very well even though it was over 100 degrees outside. There's a pizza place literally right next door and several restaurants within a block or 2. The closest taxi stand was less than 2 blocks away. There's a convenient grocery store right around the corner. I don't have anything negative to say about the place. It was simply lovely and if I were going back to Rome, I'd definitely consider staying there again.

A great stay
My wife and I stayed at the Clock Terrace House apartment for seven weeks from mid-February to early April 2024. It was a great stay! The apartment is ideal. It is a light and spacious apartment. The location is probably the best in Rome. Just a few blocks west of Piazza Navona, it is just outside the hottest tourist areas which can be insane at times. It is on the 4th floor (American) but the first set of stairs leads to a small, three-person elevator. It is remarkably quiet. It faces away from the street, though occasionally you get some noise from the next block. The most usual sources of noise are church bells (which don’t ring at night) and seagulls. The exclusive rooftop terrace, one flight of stairs up, is a delight but could use an umbrella. The fixtures and appliances in the apartment were good. The beds were comfortable. The showers in the two bathrooms had decent water pressure and hot water. The kitchen is small but functional. There is also a small washing machine but we did not use it. There is no drier and the humidity slows drying. We took our laundry to the friendly White Cloud Laundrette, just around the corner. The apartment was well heated. We had relatively mild weather so we did not use the air conditioning. The people managing the apartment – FromHometoRome – were very accommodating. We had only a few issues in seven weeks and they were always resolved. Tommaso, our main contact, was very friendly and responsive. We highly recommend!

OK
The location of this apartment is a five star absolutely. A few meters from your entrance you are in the middle of the very best of Rome. If location is your main interest, this one is perfect. Great local resataurants and not touristic area. But, and this is the reason I will not give it top rating. There were no information about the "problems" with the terrace. The terrace is not integrated and to use it you have to leave the apartment, lock it, get up to the next floor, unlook a couple of more doors, and then hope you have control of all the keys. There is no fridge up there and you will need to get back down to the apartment if you want refreshments, quite a hazzle. The apartment in itself was very nice but you can get an apartment in sentral Rome for the same price and a terrace you do not have to leave the apartment to get access to. Also, the street below seems to be the local party street and it is rather noisy at night. In addition, it is not called the Clock House for no reason. The chuch bells start ringing early in the morning and you can forget sleep after 07:00. Also, there were a lot of construction work going on and though we enjoyed our time in Rome it is sheer bliss to be back home and get a decent night of sleep. Perfect location and perfect apartment, but; not impressed with the terrace arrangement and not impressed with the noise level. Btw, horribly beds. Rock hard, but as I read other reviews it must be just us who prefer softer beds. I have rented terrace apartments in Rome before and if you have to walk 15 minutes more to get to Piazza Navona, but have the terrace as part of the apartment, do it. There are apartments at Fiori and Travestere that are better. Coz, honestly, at summer time, who cares about the inside? We want to sit in the sun and relax after a day of sightseeing and shopping. Oh, and that reminds me, this terrace do not get any sun in the evening. In May the sun is gone from approx 17/18:00. Anyway 4 stars for location.
