Great Deal!
I arrived waaay early, knowing that I had no hope of check in and just hoping to store my bag, but to my surprise the host showed up and gave me my room! After a sleepless night of travel that was incredible! The room was small and basic but it was clean and cute and perfect for me. The bed was very comfortable and warm (it’s cold in January), there was a full length mirror, a towel warmer, a rain shower head and a bidet. The only thing I missed was a hair dryer, but that’s no big deal. You might find the shower snug if you are generously proportioned but It was fine for me and even had a line to dry clothes, which I love. The common area also has a machine to make various coffee drinks. It’s fairly close to The Vatican, about a 40 minute walk to the train station and not as close to some of the historic sites as I thought it was when I booked, so keep that in mind if you don’t like walking long distances. But I had fun exploring the neighborhood (read: getting lost.) I also felt it was a safer neighborhood than the one closer to the train station, which, as a solo female traveler, is important to me. I thought this was a great deal for the price.

Best Hotel
The hotel is in a winning central location by close in walking distance to St. Peter Basilica, and Pantheon, and other major sightseeing. The room is spacious, the bedding is very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again next time when we are back to Rome. Anna is very helpful and accommodating.

This is not a hotel. There is no front desk, so it is necessary to contact a person to get the key to the building and the room. But the telephone number announced on the site is not working, I had to call Hoels.com office in London to get the right telephone number to contact a person in charge. It was raining when I arrived the building. I was desperate standing in from of a closed door. It was nothing but a luck, I met another traveler coming out from the building. The fellow traveler texted to the person in charge to inform that I had been in front of the door. It was a really terrible experience. On top of that, there was no heating in mid November. Bed cover was very thin, I was freezing. I trusted rating the hotel had, but there must be some tricks in this rating. I hope the ratings reflect the reality.

Fantastic!
The lady who did our check in was very friendly, she provided a lot of helpful city information. The Location is perfect. I traveled with my 19 and 17 year old daughters; they loved the placed and we walked almost everywery from there. The airport shuttle is a couple of blocks away from there and only cost us 6euros per person to go to the airport.

AC no good and small shower. Otherwise ok
Our host Anna is very nice. However, the rooms A/C could not keep up with the heat load that Anna created by leaving the window of the room open all day. It wasn’t until about 300-400am that I stopped sweating. The shower is for children. Very small and the shower head is too low. If you are tall, you can’t stay here.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome. It’s quiet enough so you can get a peaceful sleep despite being right in the center of Rome’s action. Very close to nearly all of the cities main attractions. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and will go out of their way to help meet your requests

Excellent quiet BB location (20 minutes walk to Piazza St.Pietro or the Vatican museum entrance), 7 minutes to Castel Sant'Angelo, 15 to Piazza Navone). Good shopping on the nearby Via Cola di Rienzo, including small supermarket. Coffee machine is available 24 hrs. Basic breakfast is at Le Lunch cafe behind the corner (Coffee, juice, fresh pastry of your choice. More options at additional charge). Staff is extremely helpful and easy to coordinate your arrival with (by phone, text, eMail and WhatsApp). Anna met us at the time of arrival and gave all necessary information, including options to arrange our departure (the easiest and least expensive turned to be from a nearby - 5 min. walk- stop of a shuttle bus to the airport). Overall - excellent experience!

Nice stay in Rome
Anna was amazing !!! The location is safe and superb. It’s in a quiet area to get a good nights rest after all of the walking. Toom was very clean and the beds are comfortable. Loved the spacious bathroom (all of the bathrooms in our other hotels in Italy have been a lot smaller ) The free cappuccino is an added bonus too.

We booked to stay at the property whilst in Rome for Italy v Ireland in the Six Nations. The property was ideally situated with all the major sites within a 30min walk, we even walked to the stadium from the apartment. The rooms were excellent, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was provided in a cafe around the corner and was very good. Throughout the whole booking process, correspondence with our host Anna was excellent and she answered any questions we had and booked us taxi's to and from the airport. I would certainly stay in Castel Sant Angelo Inn if visiting Rome again.

Superb location, easily walkable to most areas of interest in Rome yet a quiet room, quiet street and neighborhood. Anna was a wonderful host, friendly, welcoming, and helping us with everything we needed, going above and beyond. The room while not large was well thought out and had everything we needed, including a great shower. It's important to understand that this is not a hotel, staff is not present on the premises at all times, but Anna is always reachable. An Italian breakfast of coffee, juice and pastry is provided by the Inn at a cafe around the corner. We didn't love the cafe, so we went elsewhere for breakfast. I hope to return to Rome, and would definitely stay at the Castel Sant'Angelo Inn again.

A perfect location to reach everything we wanted to see within a 30 minute walk. Staff were excellent and friendly. Shower was great, just what we needed at the start of our trip, and best of all a lift for all our luggage.

Excellent stay in a good location
This is a guesthouse in a building shared by other occupants and not a stand alone hotel. Not that it makes much of a difference. The antique lift is very quaint. The host, Anna, is very welcoming. She does not stay on the premises though, so if you need help beyond office hours, you have to reach her on the phone (we did not face any issue during our stay). The room and bathroom are very clean and modern. One of the few places which provided an electric kettle. Staple breakfast available (bread, fruits, cake, juice). The location was quite good - 10 min walk from the Vatican and Piazza Navona. There is a cafe called Stop and Go by the main road which not only had good food, but was also quite economical.

We enjoyed our stay and were greeted by a friendly, sweet, professional Anna on the day of our arrival. The Inn is in a good location, just across the river from the cute Italian streets lined with shops and restaurants with patio seating. We walked almost everywhere - Vatican/St. Peter's Basilica/Sistine Chapel, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. (Must take a taxi to the Coliseum, it cost us about $13). We enjoyed the walking, taking photos and shopping along the way to all other sites. The hotel room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The breakfast was convenient. Coffee was a machine that made fair coffee. This made it convenient when you want coffee at other times besides breakfast. Food was mostly packaged with one fruit tart or cake placed out daily. It seems a bit impersonal to us but that really didn't bother us. All in all we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again.

Lovely stay.Had everything and more.Very good value. Free snacks and coffee available throughout the day. (Same as breakfast) Good communication when needed from hosts before and during stay without being intrusive. Only slight downside was the fridge in the room , which, although a nice idea, can make some noise occasionally at night which could affect light -sleepers. Overall a lovely experience, much better than big hotels in my opinion! Thank you Castel Sant'Angelo Inn for a lovely experience.
