"We had no idea this property is being consumed by the ocean. The pool has been overtaken by the surf. There's not even a beach because the water comes right up to the back stairs. This house has maybe one year before it is uninhabitable. "

"The stay was perfect…..almost. Check-in was difficult because the code that we were supposed to use didn’t work. Not the owners fault at all! Something was wrong with the Internet on the whole island so that was an issue. Luckily, a guy that owned surf shop across the street, let me use his landline. So if you go and stay at the house take your time to go across the street and say hey to the owner of Rodanthe Surf Shop. Besides the check in process the week was the time of my life!"

"We had a great week at Down by the Dunes! The kids loved the hot tub. The location was quiet and easy access to everything. The property was clean and had everything we needed. The only problem was the broken dryer - which we didn’t need anyway. We’re contemplating going back to Rodanthe next year and if we do we’ll definitely rent this property again!"

"The rutted trail to the house was bad. it was dirt and had deep ruts to the point of my car bottoming out. It needs to be leveled. The entrance to the elevator area in the lower level had a couple fly infested mostly full garbage cans we had to immediately move. Bad first impression. Inside the first impression was decent until we noticed black mold on the wall and around a light switch on the fourth floor which was the main living area.(pictures upon request) There were nails protruding an inch or so from the outside deck stairs. Several maintenance issues need to be addressed such as kitchen cabinet doors falling off their hinges. Other than that the house was generally clean, pool and hot tub both nice, and the beds were comfortable. Vacasa did respond swiftly to the mold and the ac going out the last day but whoever is responsible for the upkeep of the place has work to do. Paid a rental fee to both Vacasa and vrbo so due a refund from one of them. Leased through vrbo then it defaulted to Vacasa. Seems sketchy."

"We had a great time staying at triple fins! Very short walk to a great beach! Very quiet and everyone was friendly! House was very clean and had more than enough stuff to keep our young family entertained for a week! Will definitely be staying again!"

"Everything was wonderful. The house was nice. The central air and fans made it so comfortable. The beds were so cozy. I loved the decore! My only suggestion is maybe a few beach chairs and also better soap to wash the dishes. I kept forgetting to buy more when i was out. It would really benefit you since your kitchen is fully stocked and people are washing your dishes. I had trouble getting them clean. Thanks for letting us stay! Wonderful memories were made!"

"Our family LOVED our stay. It was quiet, except for the sound of the surf, which was heaven and the neighbors we quiet and friendly. This location was exactly as shown in the listing. The beds were very comfortable. We don’t care for eating out and this place had a well stocked kitchen. We had everything we needed to cook whatever we wanted. We have been looking for a beach vacation area that is not crowded with amusements and “tourist trap” areas. We just wanted peace, quiet, the beach/ocean, and time to spend with each other. This was it!! We all fell in love with OBX (including our doggie). New vacation spot located. 😁"

"We loved the house. It is such a shame that the homes around it on the beach are falling into the ocean. So sad. It was comfortable and warm in the rainy weather. Your contract rules say there is no use of grills on decks and only on concrete, but there is a grill located on the upper deck. We did not use it, but I thought i would point it out."
