McKinnon's is a rustic, old-world style, oceanfront beach house perfect for families and friends. This oceanfront home is warm and comfortable and has a half-acre lawn. Watch the waves break and breathe in the clean ocean air while relaxing in this Rockaway Beach home.

As you walk into McKinnon's, you will step into the living room with a large stone fireplace and comfy furniture to help you start relaxing. You can step onto the back deck from the living area and sit and enjoy the salty ocean air. The kitchen and dining room just off the living room allow for big feasts and are great for entertaining. One bedroom on the main floor has a piano and a great view.

Go on upstairs, and every bedroom has a spectacular view. Walk through the hallway door outside onto the observation deck that overlooks the entire backyard and the ocean beyond, giving you the perfect view of Twin Rocks.

Whatever stresses you have in your life will melt away as soon as you walk into McKinnon's.

There is no air-conditioning available.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. No more dogs are allowed.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Dated but great location
Upon arriving at the house we spent some time cleaning up spider webs and getting the spiders out of the house. I don’t think anyone had used the house in some time. The floors were also dirty. The location of the house is wonderful.

Great place for location and price
This home was exactly what we were looking for. Its proximity to the ocean was unmatched and the view from the upstairs was lovely. As others have mentioned it is rustic (furniture has seen better days) but it was also priced well with those factors in mind. it allowed us to stay right on the beach for an affordable price.

The Beach!
Even with all the rain, we spent a good amount of time on the beach. It was closer than we thought by looking at the pictures. Beds were comfy.

Pros: access to the beach, location. some updates. Cons: musty smell, windows need screens, updates on doors (locks difficult to use). No TV in main living area, only in 2 bedrooms.

Why a Cleaning Fee?
The property was decent overall but the place definitely needs some deep cleaning. The towels smelled horrible and the rooms didn’t smell like they haven’t been properly cleaned in awhile. There was dust and spiderwebs all over. I would go back if I felt it was clean. The location was nice and I loved the rustic feel. I wouldn’t rent if you have someone elderly if they want to be on the beach. Basically, I feel a refund is due for the cleaning fee for sure.

Location can’t be beat
This house definitely needs updates and deep cleaning. We noticed some crumbs on the couch, and the dryer was completely full of towels and sheets that were still pretty damp. I had to redo the laundry to get some clean towels. The front deck looked fairly new, but I think having a deck in the back of the house would have made more sense. The house just had a lot of wasted space, which is shame because it has so much potential. Upper deck has amazing view but had only one chair, the backyard was spacious and private but nothing to do. The house is located close to the twin rocks with a private path to the beach. The location is absolutely perfect, but the house itself wasn’t all that great. It would have been better if it offered more entertainment (ex. Games, TV in the living room, fire pit or hot tub in the back yard…).

Location location location
The house is large a bit dated, but livable. It is on the beach and the beach is very nice. My only issue was that we all pay a cleaning bill to Vrbo that seem like a lot to me so I expecte that house to be very nice. This house is pay for cleaning up to 5 times or more a month. And we had to spider webs in corners under the beds we not taken care of in some time. With that said I would stay again. I is my feeling if we the vacationers are paying as much as we do for cleaning their shoul not be dead bugs in the window.

Great beach access
The beach is a short walk away on a private trail. Many recent upgrades to appliances like the dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker and toaster. Lots of hot water and extra towels and linens. However, the house vacuum was broken when we got there and the house was full of sand and dog hair. It was quite the tussle to get the problem resolved. In the end, the local cleaning service loaned us their office vacuum for a few hours ( which we appreciated). It took another two days to get a new vacuum. The house is in need of a deep cleaning and working floor lamps and bedroom lamps. It would help if the local crew had info about the guest’s length of stay. We booked the house for 2 weeks and it was supplied for a 3 night stay. We ran out of everything - TP, dishwasher pods, laundry pods, garbage bags etc. The crew was responsive and brought us more when asked, a 3 day supply at a time. But the beach was lovely and it was good to see friends and family in this rustic house.

Twin Rocks home away from home!
I gave it five stars mostly due to the location, the location of this house is ideal! A short beautiful path from the back steps of the home to the beach! The home has a large backyard and on the front of the house, a wonderful deck! We relaxed with a drink in the evenings and visited as we made dinner! Great deck! The home is a little dated but affordable for a beachfront rental. The kitchen is fully stocked, nice washer and dryer, beds for the most part are comfortable… we’d rent this property again!

Rustic family getaway
We loved the beach access and the massive deck with propane grill. The downstairs bedroom has two double beds that are lopsided. The upstairs ocean side bed was less desirable with lumps. Just needs replaced. The sound of the ocean lulled us all to sleep. The location is perfect walking distance to the local stores. May I suggest having dishwasher detergent and more trash bags in the kitchen as well as some basic spices. Overall we truly enjoyed staying here and will definitely book again next year in hopes for better beds.

Amazing location, comfortable home for a family + dogs
This home met our needs perfectly and certainly would have accommodated more guests than our two adults, a child and two dogs. The views are amazing. We felt like no one else was around us. The yard is spacious and private and the little path to the beach was so special. Oceanfront location meant one of us could take the car for shopping excursions and everyone else could stay and play at the beach or just sit on the deck and watch the waves. Plenty of cookware for preparing our fresh seafood meals. Renting with Vacasa is always a worry-free experience beginning to end. We would definitely book McKinnon's Beach House again!

Big and roomy
Loved that you can bring your dog. Even though we didn't. We wish we would have. It's perfect for big or small dog. Close to town. Right in between rockaway and garabaldi. View Of Twin Rocks
You have a Great view of the Twin Rocks from the 2nd floor deck on back side of the house! This is the perfect way to start your day while drinking that first cup of coffee. Watching the sunset from this deck with a drink in hand is astounding! You can also watch the kids (or grands!) and dogs play in the backyard. The beach is just a short walk down the path.

Our 3rd year visiting...it's perfect for 3 generations, we never leave...everything is stocked, you never need anything...and the beach It's the perfect vacation
