No heat source in either bedroom
It was cold at night during our 2 night stay and the little Cadet heater in one Bedroom did not turn on and the other bedroom only had a barely detectible wisp of warmth from the electrical fireplace. The sliding door to the deck is very hard to open and close and can only be secured with a stick. No wood for the wood fireplace so we had to go out on Thanksgiving to buy. Only one dish towel. Overpriced and unappealing apart from the excellent view and beach access

Great beach house for family and dogs
Very comfortable, nothing fancy, traditional beach house, just the way we like it. Path to the water right outside the back door. great to have the decks so the dogs could go outdoors without us always having to take them out.

Retro house stunning view
Overall the view, covered deck & beach access were good. Purchased a baking sheet and updated ice cream scoop for the next person. Most other essentials were available and king bed comfortable. If it's hot, bring a fan to assist the ocean breeze. If it's cold remember wood for woodstove. Thank you and enjoy the sea.

Great location and view
Nice property with funky decor. Loved the gated deck and the kitchen had really good pans and all in kitchen was clean. It was a great house for a dog, no carpet except one bedroom. It would have been nice to know that the Spectrum App was how you got to live TV channels, discovered it on the 3 or 4 th day of our week long stay.

La Playa was the perfect house for us! Loved the closeness of the beach and how the house was situated with big windows and the deck to enjoy the view. We really enjoyed the surrounding area, did some crabbing and a little bit of shopping, it was a great weekend! We will be back. Thank you!!

What a fun stay!!
My husband and I were able to stay at this beach house and bring our 2 dogs! Its RIGHT ON THE BEACH!! No climbing down a cliff to get to ocean. A great location and outdoor area. For all you people complaining about cleanliness of this place, common sense would bring you solace. Its on the beach. They allow dogs. No its not filthy but it's obviously not going to be pristine.

Location & view was great!!
Upon arrival the house was dirty, and we had to clean it. We even washed the sheets. We fixed the shower head because it would not stay up. Dryer does not work great. I think a bit more patio furniture on front patio would be nice. The table and chairs on the patio were also dirty. We did not clean them. Overall - after we cleaned we had a wonderful time. I was there with my elderly dog and 3 month old great grandson and memories were made. I hope this input will help for future quests. I feel we left the house cleaner than what we found it in. Sincerely, Sherrie Vaughn

Warning. Do. Not. Book.
The home is stuck in the 70s and not in a retro cool way, but in a gross-un-updated-don’t-touch-the-gross-cabinets way. There was so much dog hair everywhere tufts of it came from under the bed and moved across the room like rodents. No good furniture on deck to enjoy the view (but please bring in the crappy $5 cushions every time your done using them!), no coffee filters (were we supposed to know what kind of cheap crappy coffee maker you had and bring our own?), no extra blankets or beach towels, bedding from Charles Manson’s 1970 garage sale, carpet in second bedroom smells so bad - don’t go in there (could have been used as a second bathroom at one point). Only 3 mismatched wine glasses (one is a very fancy plastic), random-old-useless kitchen utensils purchased from local goodwill, this is also a place where old-broken-run down kitchen appliances go to die. Just in case you wanted to steal some crappy old glass wear, you are out of luck because the cabinet is locked. Be careful on the deck, just looking at it will give you 4 splinters in your butt. That’s if you can get the sliding glass door open. It’s sad that Richard’s family doesn’t want to spend any money maintaining the awesome beach house he left his family, which at one time 50 years ago was obviously awesome. The one star is for the location, but stay at a nicer place across the street, this place is not worth the view.

Better than advertised!
This is by far the best house we’ve stayed at on the coast. The location of the house was perfect. It was private, quiet, and right on the beach. Great for the dogs to run around. The house was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. Huge fan of the deck to watch the sunset and relax. Can’t wait to come back!

Great location, but...
The location was awesome, steps from the beach. What was less than impressive was the construction site immediately next door that was riddled with garbage, rusty nails, and other debris which our puppy found very delicious. The TV situation was a disaster. The one in the basement is there for show, it isn't connected to any device at all. The one in the living room required quite a bit of time to get working, most of the remotes had corroded batteries. There were many light bulbs out, the ceiling fan didn't work. A fireplace with no wood, a coffee maker with no coffee, cobwebs. I could go on. Basic essentials are the norm for house share situations, clearly the excellent location of this house is enough for the owners to say screw the other stuff. I will not stay here again, there are MANY other rentals on the coast that are better equipped and less expensive.

Unbeatable location
This house is literally on the beach. You walk out from the lovely and large back porch right onto your very own path to the beach, super easy access! It's incredible, really. The house was perfect for us--we appreciated the vintage style and the funky decor, but don't expect totally updated everything (excepted nice big TVs!). We'll be back!

Perfect Location
Perfect location right on the beach in a quiet neighborhood. The beach was never crowded and almost felt like it was your own. The essentials (kitchen, sheets, bathrooms) were clean, however the house needs a complete dusting and it is time to take up the carpet in the bedrooms. Pup friendly and carpet do not mix well. Downstairs is basically a concrete basement, so expect a little mustiness.

Ocean View Fantastic, House Neglected
SO MUCH DUST AND COBWEBS. Disregard anything about a grill on the posting, neither one of them worked and they were disgusting and rusted out. Broken plastic table (legs broken off, table top cracked in 2) and chair left on the front patio, safety hazard. Regular TV does not work in living room, only Netflix. Upstairs shower does not work, only tub. Outside railing leading to upper deck, very loose-another safety hazard, especially with kiddos. Hair in the bottom shower. The black trim is barely hanging on in the hallway walking up the stairs, it fell off when we first walked up the stairs. My daughter got a sliver. Hook in upstairs bathroom came off in my hand when hanging a towel. The chain in the back of the toilet kept coming off, continously ran or would not flush. The smaller bedroom had the closet so full of left over stuff, kids bag, dog bed, etc and it smelled like someone peed in the closet. They do not tell you that the garage in not accessible. Kitchen chair wheel kept falling off. There is a sign that says "bring in the cushions", but there are no cushions. It would have been nice to sit out and grill hotdogs with the kids. The pictures for this property are old. Good things are lots of towels. Nice for a washer and dryer. Private access to the beach. Nice big screen in the living room and the WiFi does work. Lots of debri around the yard and very overgrown, this poor house has been completely neglected. For the amount we spent, we expected more. The 70's decor I liked, but everything was just so dusty and dirty (years worth of dust and grime). At one time this place was probably beautiful, but now you can cleary see that this rental is all about the money! Oh yeah, one last thing, there was left over food in the freezer! We left a night early because we had enough. We will not be back! The natural beauty of the beach was awesome and we did support local business that have been hit hard due to Covid.

Awesome, but dated
The place was really cool, but very dated. The 70’s style shag carpets in the bedrooms were torn up in spots and had a little bit of a smell, and there were quite a few cobwebs hangin out. The property management also never responded to any of my messages. This wasn’t a huge deal as the questions I had I was able to find answers for, but I would have found answers faster had they responded. Despite these few things the view and the incredibly short walk to the beach makes the whole thing worth it.

Soul soothing
The property is a short walk over the dune to the beach. (We arrived late at night so a better marking at the driveway entrance would help.) the lockbox made for easy check-in. We travelled with our 25 yr old daughter and her golden retrievers. All of enjoyed morning and evening walks on the beach! It was an easy day trip up to Haystack Rock and to the Tillamook Creamery. The bedrooms are very comfortable and heaters in each room allow for very comfortable sleeping...no one had to be too hot or too cold. The kitchen is small but adequate. You will have to bring your own coffee, spices etc, but I always do when we VRBO. There are lots of board games, a football table and plenty of DVDs. If you need more options you can watch Netflix or log into your own account to view from your preferred list. The couches were very comfortable! I highly recommend time with your family or even just your own solitude journey at this beachfront house.

Birthday weekend success.....in January
The weather couldn't have been nicer. The location couldn't have been better. The company we had with each other was perfect! I strongly suggest this location...so nice to walk out the back door and be on the beach. The weather cooperated nicely for us. 55 degrees and sunny in January is hard to find! Quite the eclectic taste when looking at light fixtures etc. The fireplace warmth and glow of the night time fires worked very well creating the serenity we were looking for. Thank you!
