Stunning villa with private pool close to Rome in the Sabine countryside.
Located in Sabina at the feet of the medieval village of Roccantica less than 60 km from Rome (about 50 minutes by car or by train), the Antica Palombara is an old seventeenth-century stone countryhouse of great charm and elegance.
The Villa, carefully and elegantly furnished, is spacious and offers a wide range of services and amenities. The very well-kept gardens which surround the villa and the lovely private pool immersed in the greenery render l’Antica Palombara the ideal location for a delightful, relaxing and fun vacation with family and friends.
The Villa is also the ideal base from which to go on day trips to discover the natural and cultural wonders of the Sabine region or to engage in sports and the food and wine activities offered in the area. Finally, l’Antica Palombara’s excellent geographical position renders it an ideal place from which to visit Rome or other important medieval cities of central Italy such as Orvieto, Viterbo, Assisi and Perugia or the medieval abbeys of Vescovio and Farfa.
The Antica Palombara is surrounded by very well-kept gardens. The grounds include an orchard and a sloping olive grove. The rectangular shaped pool – immersed in the greenery – offers enchanting views and features a fairly large shallow step that makes it possible for small children to play in the water, albeit under surveillance. An elegant wooden pergola with a bamboo cane roof offers shelter and freshness all day long. Sun loungers and inflatables are made available to our guests.
The country house is on three floors. The living room, the dining room, the kitchen and a guest bathroom are on the ground floor. French windows open onto the equipped pergola which is surrounded by a lovely level garden.
The spacious kitchen area includes an anteroom with fireplace and a utility room. It is well furnished and fully equipped for the preparation of aperitifs and meals to be enjoyed al fresco or in the comfortable dining room. Inside the elegant living room – the old stables refurbished – you will find comfortable sofas and armchairs on which to relax with a good book, watch a film on the smart tv or enjoy, adults and children together, the area of the room equipped with games.
On the first floor you will find three double bedrooms, one twin bedroom, one en-suite bathroom with bathtub and shower, three bathrooms with shower and a small sitting room with tv. On the second floor, under the sloping ceiling of the attic, there are one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a bathroom. After another flight of stairs, you will find the turret which houses a small library and an armchair to relax on. From its quaint windows you can admire the best views.
