I was passing through and needed a place to stay for the night, but I really wish I had stayed longer. I had two dogs with me so it was super beneficial that they had a massive yard. The driveway was nice and spacious, so pulling in with the truck was a breeze. The hosts greeted me at the door and they were the two most lovely couples. I almost feel bad that I got in rather late and left extremely early the next day.
The house itself is nicely decorated with antiques, and it has a 1800's, Bavarian feel with large sloped ceilings, stucco walls, open concept, and hand made furniture. This would be perfect for a large family, or a family reunion, as there is plenty of space for kids to run around, there are multiple rooms, and more furniture than one could ever want.
There are other little things that impressed me more than I thought it would. The carpet, for example, was super soft, which is a welcomed reprieve from my usual urban center, hardwood flooring. The tub in the master bedroom was open to the bedroom, and it too had the same soft carpet. I know I am sounding like a broken record here, but it was really neat to see that old style bathroom tub. There is also this chair in front of the makeup counter in the bathroom, again, a throwback to the 70's style homes.
The area is also gorgeous, and you can go on all sorts of hikes. The locals appear to be animal lovers, as most in the country side are, and you will see many of them out walking their dogs in the morning.
