High Hollow Cottage is adjoins National Forest, so if privacy is what you are looking for, look no further. Here, you can hike, watch for wildlife, or spread out a blanket picnic. You’ll never want to leave this cozy cottage.

While hiking the property, you might see remnants of an old hiking trail that used to climb high up on the ridgetop but was lost to the windswept elements. Today, this trail is home to the native wildlife.

A peaceful sanctuary!
All that I expected, truly an escape. Beautiful inside and out, perfect for a solo visit with my MINI Cooper rally club. The hot tub was perfect for daily soaks, the deck seating options suited every weather and mood. Only complaint, the bed could use attention, fine for one, sharing could prove difficult, a large central hole, there's a story in the guest book... Regardless, exactly as advertised and just what I needed.

Peace and Solitude in the Mountains
This place delivers if you want to disconnect and get away. It’s new, very clean, and extremely private yet fairly close to neighbors for a little extra piece of mind. The hot tub is awesome and the Verizon hotspot was perfect for checking email and communicating when need be. Hosts are super responsive and friendly. 10/10 would recommend.

Wonderful extended weekend
Property is better than listed. Very peaceful. 45+ minutes to the nearest Walmart, which is exactly the type of remoteness we were looking for. We stayed the first weekend of April and the weather was just beautiful for sightseeing. Only con is, we never saw any bears.😁 Would certainly consider this property again in the future.

I was visiting for the Miata event at Fontana .
It was everything I expected it to be , the description ,and pictures were very accurate . I was a bit disappointed that the movie channels were blocked by a parental control. other than that everything was perfect.

Just a mess

Reviewer Comments: Had to leave because of multiple things that were wrong first coffee pot filter had not been changed since the last tenant was full of mold. Have pictures if needed then the first night had a family of mice running around the night. set for traps and killed three mice they were living in the couch when folded the couch out for the bed. It was full of rat poop. also have pictures if needed. I have sent all of this to yellow Rose realty. They said they were going to give me a refund, but I have not heard from them yet.

Mountain getaway
We loved our stay, it was very secluded (like scary movie secluded) but that’s what we were looking for lol! Great views of the stars, close to lots of hiking trails- Do tellico gap and climb the fire tower you’ll thank me later! Still close enough to drive into Bryson city, Robbinsville, and visit NOC. The fire pit and hot tub were great! The driveway up is rough, 4x4 would be best like they tell you. The first day a local helped us get our car up the driveway (which is actually crazy we ran into anybody out there since we didn’t see anybody the rest of the trip) the key without 4x4 DONT slow down on the hill but also don’t drive off the hill-BIG turn at the top! Thank for the amazing stay and memories we wished we could stay forever

Nice property, not so nice property management
Loved the rental, very nice layout. Hard to get to by address and definitely requires specialty vehicle or at least a vehicle with ground clearance and 4x4, this should be mentioned in listing. You have to climb a 8 degree loose rock hill for 1/4 mile that also includes a hairpin turn at the top. We had the pleasure of encountering numbers of roaches in the rental which required us to sleep in our car, leave early and abruptly which ruined our final day in NC. Now we are having a problem getting a fair and proper refund addressed, though management said they would take care of it once we sent pictures to support our claim. I’m still expecting an appropriate response.

Everything was as described and as pictured, and the property managers were great with communication. The cottage is very modern and felt spacious despite being a type of "tiny house." I would say that the bed was a bit on the soft side, and perhaps could use a sturdier frame, but it was comfortable and cozy. The kitchen had anything you might need to cook with and there was a grill outside (though we didn't use it). The Cottage is in a lovely, secluded spot, and had amazing winter views of mountains. So peaceful with the sound of stream and the birds, and nothing else. We loved the two covered porches, the fire pit and the hot tub! We were fortunate to have great weather for our stay, and the star-gazing was amazing!! We're hoping to come back again!!

Lovely Place

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our second time staying here and it is a lovely property. It's so quiet and secluded. The hot tub was amazing. We had a wonderful time. That being said, we noticed a few things that could use a little bit of TLC. The cushions on one of the lounge chairs a ripped and the stuffing is coming out. Also while the bed is comfy, there is a noticeable dip in the center where you kind of roll to the middle of the bed that was not present on our previous trip a couple of years ago. We also encountered a mousy visitor which I called the management company about. Not a huge deal (you are out in the woods) but we did notice a number of mouse droppings around the place. The management company did call on our last day there to make sure we had a good stay which I thought was nice.

We enjoyed our stay for my wife’s birthday weekend. Property was real secluded and had a lot of privacy. My wife was a little scared of the drive up to the cabin. We had no problems getting there or leaving.

HIGH HOLLOW COTTAGE

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay at the High Hollow Cottage because we like it so much the first time. This stay, not so much. It seems that the cottage is not being maintained like it should. The mattress on the bed was so horrible that we even left our vacation a day early, because we could not sleep on the mattress another night. We put every blanket that we had on top of the mattress, and it still did not help. The coffee pot was broken, so we had to go buy k-cups for the Keurig. One of the burners on the stove does not work properly, and the hot tub jets cannot be adjusted because the knobs to adjust them are broken. When we stayed the first time, you could tell the hot tub was not a new one, but it seems that they need to replace it. The location is wonderful if you want peace and quiet, but it needs to be maintained better than it is being maintained. It is also close to Bryson City and Cherokee, which makes it a nice place to stay, but I will not stay here anymore. If you are thinking about staying here, you need to ask if they have gotten a new mattress, or you will get no sleep.

The mailbox that lists 137 is no longer visible. If the entry instructions were updated it would have been a perfect stay. This did not hinder our experience as we called the emergency line and was quickly answered and helped with getting to the location. This is all nitpicky, it was a beautiful stay and we cannot wait to be back

It's actually like a tiny house trailer, but bigger than most you see on TV. Hot tub was great and grilling out on the charcoal grill was nice. Only negative is the bed, very uncomfortable, huge indention in the center so kept fighting to keep from rolling into the center. Other than that, we would certainly stay again as long as there is a new bed!

When I got to the cabin and I walked inside I just immediately relaxed it was an oasis after a long trip. The hot tub was a great feature to help relax and unwind and get ready for all the fun that can be had around this house. This is a great location for the nantahala outdoor center nantahala River Fontana dam Fontana lake Lake Santeetla. Tsali bike trails. For me and my stay this was a perfect location.

Cozy cabin in a quiet location

Love this Place! We are going back!
My husband and I stayed here for a week and had such a good time we booked another week while we were there. The place was picture perfect and the only visitors we saw were the mountains. The cabin location was very secluded but there were tons of things to do nearby. Our favorite was hiking the AT. The only suggestion would be to have dry firewood delivered.
