Cozy and Quiet
Myself and couple of friends Stade for an event it was very peaceful and great scenery. Got to meet the owner he was very knowledgeable about the history of the property and surrounding areas and made sure we had what we needed and were happy. There is also other historical areas to check out as well as dinning and shopping not to far away. Looking forward to staying again. If you like horses this is a great place to stay!

Great Facility
Great facility, took the family on a trail ride through the farm. Great pond to fish in. This is my second stay here. Just love this farm!

Solitude at its finest.
The cottage was quaint with a farmhouse feel. I was looking for a getaway for some peace and quiet and got just that. Loved every minute of my stay. The kitchen was well stocked. I appreciate the attention to detail with the abundance of towels, bed linens, and pillows.Bonus- Bought angus beef from Liberty Hall and it was delicious.

Beautiful Farm Views
We came in for a family event and the Pond Cottage was perfect for our needs. Close to town but still remote with a quiet feel. Even with the hotspot access we could watch shows on the big screen TV. The coffee center stocked by the host is fantastic with lots of options - we enjoyed coffee on the porch looking over the green fields, cows, and horses. There is a fire pit area with chairs for the evening.

Great little cabin
Wanted a place where we could bring our great grandchildren to visit for several days. Can't do that in a hotel room. This little cabin fit our needs perfectly. Enjoyed the outdoor space and use of the barbeque grill to grill outdoors. Nice location where you can view the Liberty Hall Plantation stables and horse pastures. The cabin itself is 2-bedroom, full kitchen and 1 1/2 bath. We will come back to the cabin in the future.

Comfortable Country Stay
My family & I have stayed here twice while visiting Virginia for metal detecting trips - March & November 2022. Both trips this cottage was exactly what we needed! We travel with our 2 dogs & this place was perfect. They loved all the country smells & watching the cows out front and the geese that visited the nearby pond. Got some lovely pictures. Enjoyed the beautiful sunrise over the farm from the screened in porch. Comfortable & exactly what you'd expect from a rural farm cottage. It was nice having more space & privacy compared to a hotel. Would absolutely stay here again! Owners were nice & were quick to answer any questions we had.

Spectacular views, quiet retreat.
Met up in the middle w family for a long weekend hang out. The cottage is so fun! From the tree swing and picnic table out front, to the fire pit with wood ready to go, to our friendly neighbor cows it was the perfect spot. The views are so stunning and relaxing. Enjoyed walking the drive and seeing all the horses. Some in our group enjoyed their own little movie marathon with some of the DVDs that were on hand. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked and the cottage was clean. Host was very responsive. My daughter enjoyed an indoor lesson during our stay, arranging was easy and the instructor was amazing, kind and knowledgeable.

Do not book
This is NOT a home that you want to spend vacation time or money in. It is dirty and dated with no central air conditioning. If you are boarding your horses here and just looking for a semi-acceptable bed for the night it might work. But if you are looking for a relaxing, comfortable vacation home look for something else.

Not what we expected
I was excited to stay at this house when I saw the pictures. But I must say the bathrooms were really gross. The bottom of the toilet was so yellow and brown. It totally grossed me out. We also killed so many bugs in the house. I felt like every where we sat I had to look first to make sure there was no bugs. I had a huge spider bite on my neck as well. Would never go back. For the price we paid for our stay, I could have stayed in a cheap hotel and I would have been more comfortable. This place really needs to be fixed up. The porch screen was all torn, so you could not even sit on the porch without getting bit my something., The grass was not even cut. I had to walk my dogs and the grass was past my ankles. This place needs a good cleaning and make over. Very disappointed.

Rural Yet Comfortable
We stayed here while in town for a wedding and really enjoyed the cottage. It's off the beaten path so we didn't expect a hotel setting and were very happy with the comfort level and amenities. The hotspot and cell service were good enough for streaming and staying connected. It has lots of kitchen accessories, a BBQ, and a fire pit that would be nice for a family gathering. We will be back again!

Many Repeat Stays - always great
We came in for the weekend to visit my retired horse that is enjoying his days at Liberty Hall. We always enjoy our stays, beautiful sunrises from the front porch, and the firepit in the evenings. Dan and Sarah are fantastic hosts, very responsive, and always ready to give suggestions for local attractions.

Fantastic Hunt Country Property
We came down with a group of friends from Pennslyiva to enjoy a week of fox hunting with Warrenton, Blue Ridge, Middleburg, and Bull Run Hunt. This cottage was perfect for our needs and we were able to stable our horses in the paddock directly in front of the cottage.

Shabby
My husband and I were so uncomfortable with our stay here that we left a day early. The property around the cottage was overgrown and unkept. The inside of the cottage was dirty, things were broken and items needed to be updated. The property manager did recommend a lovely place for dinner in Culpepper, best part of the trip!

Deceitful Photos, Sooo Disappointing
I was sooo disappointed. The photos are very inaccurate. First, there is a 1/4 acre cow pen about 20 feet from the front porch and it contains 6 cows. I wouldn't have booked if I had known that I couldn't let my dog off leash. It's impossible to enjoy the porch because of the stench. Second, the house photos must have been taken before they started renting it. It has received no maintenance or deep cleaning in some time. The stove stop and oven were filthy - black with caked on debris. The interior of the house is dingey and definitely shows wear and tear. The bathroom with the tub/shower had a bad odor, probably from the toilet drain. During a 7 minute shower, I had water up to my ankles because the tub wasn't draining well. There was no plug for the tub so I couldn't have a bath. The window in the master bedroom was so dirty your couldn't see through it and there was no screen so it couldn't be opened for fresh air. The Wifi worked but not for the TV in the living room. I contacted Dan about it shortly after my arrival but he was busy and couldn't come until the next day. When I contacted him the next morning, there was no response for 20 minutes and then it was "I'm on my way" - I had thought he would give me a time frame for his arrival. He spent about 15 minutes fiddling with it and reconfiguring the network settings. He told me that if it happened again to just reset the router. Once he left and I turned the TV off, I never was able to use it again to watch TV. I tried to do what he did but it never worked. Regardless, I don't think I should have to do anything with network settings to watch TV. When I contacted Dan about the TV, I had also told him that I had no hand towels or wash cloths. He brought two with him and then went into the maintenance closet and pulled out a pack of 5, pulled them apart, and handed them to me. I would never use a washcloth or hand towel that hadn't been laundered. And, since the towels be brought with him had an odor, I had to do laundry. Thankfully, the washer/dryer worked. Wifi access in the evening is VERY slow; it took more than two hours to down load an ebook. I had one day that I could have slept in but was awoken by the ATV that comes to feed the cows every morning around 9am. I was disappointed to find that some cookware was dirty and that there was no tea kettle, as advertised. In terms of curb appeal, I was disappointed to find clumps of dried red mud on the front porch since it has a screen door. It should have been swept by the cleaners when they left. Finally, I think there is a better option for kitchen trash than a metal frame with a 30 gallon trash bag in it and no cover.

Cute little cottage…..perfect stay.
We stayed here with our son and three small dogs for a week. Everything we needed was at the cottage or a very short drive away. This is the forest, you will see nature and that includes some bugs. They didn’t bother us and in fact we saw very few and they were all but one outside. If you have ever stayed in the country/wooded area this is obviously normal. The cottage was cozy, peaceful, and perfect for us . We enjoyed walking the property and loved seeing the horses and cows. Especially the three that greeted us every morning next to the cottage. I loved the owners and would stay here again in a heartbeat . Everyone was kind, and very helpful if we had any questions. It is a very cute place and so much better than a one room motel. We had our own little place for the week to relax, cook great meals, and enjoy the scenery. Thank you for everything! We will most definitely be back. David and Renee Hellender
